Hola! If you know me well, you know that I’m a water loving sun baby. A childhood along the Mediterranean in the south of Spain with an abuelo who was in the Spanish navy left me with a deep fondness for sun and sea. And if we’ve had a chance to catch up recently at a show, you already know this, but for those who don’t…

I’ve followed that love for water to the Gulf Coast of FL/AL and set up a satellite studio down here about a year ago. I enjoyed my first winter sans snow and I’m never going back! My sweet-Ness (Agnes) has been promoted from studio pup to traveling studio pup and she is loving the sun, sand, and spray as much (or more!) than I do. When we’re not tiny shiny tinkering away, we’re stealing away to any body of water we can find. We love the Gulf Coast because it reminds us so much of the Mediterranean coasts of Spain. The flora, fauna, and slower way of life down south has been the perfect inspiration for creation. Here are some of my favorite moments that bring sparkle to my life away from the bench.

These custom beauties were a set for siblings. Two sisters and a brother who get to share and wear mom’s pieces everyday. I love how the style of each sibling comes out in each individual piece while still looking like they belong together. Custom can turn one into many. Do you have any sentimental pieces you’d love to turn into something to share with your siblings?

Hola everyone! 💖 It has been the busiest year yet between shows and new business endeavors (expansion/growth). I can’t wait to share everything with you all if you haven’t had a chance to catch me in person at a show.

I’m enjoying this month off of shows to reflect on all the great weekends I’ve enjoyed in some of my favorite places, old and new!

Some of my favorite highlights include warm welcomes (literally) in Edina, to awards in Miami, Peoria, and Birmingham, and Cleveland(and more?!), to beautiful views in Ohio at Cuyahoga.

Thank you all for showing me so much love and support of this tiny shiny business!

I'm taking a quick break in the studio (working my butt off for this weekend in Edwardsville, IL) and I've been reflecting on how amazing this past weekend was.

I want to give a big thank you to all the people of Springfield, IL for another amazing weekend. The visitors, the .art association, their stellar volunteers, and my fellow artists made this past weekend an absolute joy. My heart is so full from a weekend that felt more like a getaway with good friends than work. 💖

We kept old traditions and made them richer with new friends at (I included last year's photo because, again, we didn't get everyone in one this year).

Some of my absolute favorite tiny shinys found their way onto your hands, ears, arms, and necks. 🤩

And I added to my collection of glass awards with this year's Best of Show award. I'm so grateful and humbled.

That's how these shows and this life should always be! I am over the moon! 🥰

I can't wait to do this all over again THIS weekend at the 's Art Fair! Come say hola, I'm nearly smack dab in the center at booth 89.

I'm returning to New Harmony, Indiana this Saturday for one of my favorite shows, Arts in Murphy Park (formerly at McClure Park). It has taken me almost an entire week to process my awesome experience in Minneapolis at the Edina Art Fair. It was so nice to experience what makes travel so fun and important to me.

From the community to the food to the sparkle the entire weekend felt as close to a vacation as work can feel. Here is my short list of highlights from the weekend with some pictures included.

🏆I won an award of excellence among some pretty stellar artists.

🥰 I got to see several people that I know from back home including fellow artist, Mandy Pedigo, and my high school math teacher, Rita Funk! That was a real treat.

💪🏼+✨ I had an amazing neighbor, Chooch's, who was getting his first taste of the big art show life. He was the perfect compliment as a neighbor: the big rusty to my tiny shiny.

🤤 If you know me well then you know I LOVE food and Minneapolis did not disappoint. Everything I ate was amazing. I had some of the best cooked octopus at . Kimchi on pizza, yes you read that right, at . And I had seagrass in my cocktail along with some delightful mussel at .

💖 Not to mention all of the amazing new friends and collectors who went home with some of my favorite pieces.

Thank you!! 🤗

Please enjoy these moments of sparkle from my last few months that I wanted to share. A recent custom job that I'm still in love with (I'll share the whole collection and story soon!) to silliNess (🐶) moments in the studio.

The car is packed* and I'm ready to celebrate the 60th anniversary of the !! 🥳

I can't wait to see all my friends in Springfield and make some new ones. Come say hello, I'm in booth number 83!

*I feel the urge to admit that it's packed because I never unpacked it from last week! Sometimes that show life means leaving your car packed for the week as you do back to back shows. 😬

A goldie, but a goodie. ✨

Long and minimal Gold Dust necklaces are a flagship design for me and they're the perfect final layer when mix and matching your necklaces. I wear mine in the marquise shape, but there is something so fierce about this elongated triangle that I also love.

Come see for yourself in Peoria, IL this weekend! You can find me in booth 2 at the fair!

I'm really excited to be back at this stellar show because of the bonus of staying with friends while I'm away from home. I'll definitely get some rest and fun squeezed in this weekend. 🥰

The studio is always at it's most vibrant in the days before a show.

What pieces need finishing touches to make it off the bench in time? Is everything tagged and in inventory? Is the car properly packed?

Did you remember the thing you forgot at the last show? 😅

I'm so excited to be back in this weekend for again. This is such a fun show and I've never felt more welcomed in a new town than the people of Springfield always make me feel.

I won't have this yellow diamond beauty, but I'll have all the answers to those questions above as well as plenty of sparkle (which is the answer to most anything). 😉

Come say hello, I'm in booth 25!

gold dust still floating
like motes of time, suspended
yet fast and fleeting

My life has always been divided by two worlds, growing up between the Midwest and Spain. Despite the distance, the two pillars of my life and identity have always been closely intertwined.

That was true until these past few years where travel was made more difficult and it left me feeling like a large part of myself was inaccessible. Despite virtual connection, I didn't realize how much I relied on the sights, feels, and smells of my other home. Not only that, everything that happens a world away seemed to be overflowing, flooding, and rushing around me while I felt enveloped in a time bubble where nothing moved or changed.

We took a quick and largely unplanned trip to see my family at the end of the year last year. It was so comforting and fulfilling to see, breathe, touch the people and places that mean so much to me. We also were lucky enough to visit the walled city of Avila (next photo) and the Hanging Houses of Cuenca which we both new to me.

All at once it felt like lost time caught up with me. ✨

Select, solder, set repeat. 💎

That is my brain in show prep mode. These past couple of weeks have been long days in prep for the at in Birmingham! ✨

This is one of my favorite shows in my new favorite city (seriously, plan a trip to B'ham). This year is even better because and will be joining me. It will be like our own little artist retreat. Not to mention seeing all of the friends and amazing people I met last year. I can't wait to be back and see you all again!

Side note: I just noticed my water glass in the first picture was a souvenir from from my last visit! To say I'm ecstatic about Birmingham is an understatement. 💖

See ya'll soon! 😘

Big studio news! I have a new apron and it's glorious! 😍

After a year of heavy use it was quickly becoming apparent that my denim apron wasn't going to cut it. Not to mention I was getting real tired of my tools falling out of the pockets. 😅

The arrival of this baby in the studio has been the greatest addition since my rolling mill! I loved starting the new year fresh with this custom apron from Wolf Leathers. I got to hand pick the leather, the colors, the stitching, EVERYTHING!

I am once again in awe at how fortunate I am to be surrounded by so many amazing artists in my everyday life. I'm so grateful they took the time out of their busy schedule to make something just for me that will improve my time in the studio. 🥰

A Clasp Necklace...

But, make it all gold! And add all the diamonds for extra sparkle! 🤩

This absolute stunner was the result of the process I shared yesterday. This old gold has been on quite the adventure and headed back home completely refreshed.

Do you have any old jewelry you want to make new again? I would love to help you create! DM me for with any questions you may have!💖💝

✨REIMAGINE✨

Swipe to go on a journey with me creating this sparkly beauty as I helped a sweet client turn old memories into new ones.

Reusing your old gold is one of my favorite processes because it allows me to use so many of my studio's tools and equipment. I start by melting old gold down (sometimes with new) and then I use my rolling mill to turn ingots (melted nuggets) into usable sheet and wire. From there it's time for forming and assembly!

Can you guess what I'm making with all this old gold? 🤭

Hola, everyone!☀️ Rocky here…after quite the impressive social media break. A break that I’ll be the first to admit that I started to enjoy a little too much. Without the constant phone notifications I found not only did I find more zen at the bench, but I was able to be home when I was at home.
—Between the new studio build and a little more growth than I anticipated, I ended up working some work week hours that are probably illegal. I finished feeling incredibly grateful and amazed at what two hands and all of your support for a tiny shiny vision could do.✨
—In the midst of this spectacular joy I also experienced, like so many of us do, some pretty big losses that I wasn’t prepared for and felt I wasn’t fully present for. I love what I do, but I also love the parts of my life that are the reason that I do what I do.
🤍 I love to travel. It’s the new horizons, experiences, and visual influences brought to be through new adventures that fuel the imagery of my work. 🤍 I love to be outside. It’s working with my hands in the garden, warming my mediterranean skin in the sun that it so deeply misses, and viewing the minutiae of a whole outdoor world that isn’t found at my bench that reinvigorates every fiber of my being to keep working. 🤍 I love my home. It’s with my amazingly supportive family (husband, friends and puppies), in my kitchen, and in the constant renovation scheming that I find the zest for life and work well spent/accomplished.💖
—Despite my social media vacation, we've been neck deep designing some pretty special pieces together and I can't wait to make what comes next! I’m still not fully caught up and there is now a custom waitlist, but I at least have some amazing ladies by my side now that will help me stay on top of everything as we continue to grow and shine. I’m stoked to share with you all what I’ve been up to and all the exciting news and adventure that is to come. I want to thank everyone for such an incredible year in 2021 and I know that even more sparkle awaits in 2022. Un beso. 😘

What a week! First off, thank you Philly and Philadelphia Museum of Art Craft Show for the amazing welcome and the even better show! I can't think of a better way to have ended my show season.

Of course, I ran up the steps of the Philadelphia Museum of Art. It was such an honor to arrive and discover that I was featured on the convention center billboard! And despite a bit of a car packing nightmare you can bet your butt I brought that sign home (now....where to hang it?!).

I had a stellar show in large part because of Rikki Rathore, who flew all the way from CA to help me work my booth. When we weren't playing sparkle, we were twinning and in search of Philly's best bites from croissants, to moules frites, to oysters, and more! 🤤

A big thanks to all the surprise visits from my East Coast followers and fans, it was great seeing familiar faces at a new show. 🥰

I followed such an amazing show weekend with a couple of deserved days of rest with extended family that I don't get to see very often. Relaxing in VA horse and wine country is how every show should end. 🐴🍷

And to top off this already ridiculously wonderful trip, I got to spend a couple of days with Corinne of Texture and Tarnish IN PERSON! We've spent the last couple of years building up a virtual friendship and when I was so close to her this past week she didn't hesitate to invite me in to her home and studio. This girl is my sistersmith, fellow food lover, and an inspiration. We played in her studio and of course we rifled through each other's inventory like kids at a candy store!

My heart is so, so full. I'm so grateful to everyone who has helped make this journey possible. These past few years has been full of milestones for my tiny shiny business and I'm honored to have made it here.💖

I woke up at 3 this morning to seek out the sun and I made it! You could even call that portion of the journey my training. Starting tomorrow I'll be running to the Philadelphia Museum of Art Craft Show where you can find me at booth 217! (-;

To say my heart is full of love and gratitude would be an understatement. Mi corazón is absolutely overflowing! 🥰

It has taken me the entire day to recharge from such an incredible weekend. The BEST weekend I have ever had to date! Never in my life have I ended a show with so many empty displays, thank you Edwardsville! 🤯

Thank you to all of my amazing visitors who have shown me endless love and support over the years. It always feels great to see you come by wearing my work that you've loved for years as you pick out the next piece for your collection. I'm grateful for your familiar faces and I love seeing all of the new faces too! To all the new lovers of my work, thank you and welcome to the club! Thanks to some of you for grabbing these wonderful pictures over the weekend because I was too busy to take some myself!

Many, many, MANY thanks to the for putting on an amazing show every year that I'm honored to be a part of. They have some of the most caring and enthusiastic volunteers and it makes this show one of the best. It can be hard to remember to hydrate and eat at shows and the Eddie crew has you covered! 🙏🏼

A thanks to all of my art friends, new and old, who I get to set up next to every weekend. The love radiating out of these humans beings from the love and support that the community gives them is one that I will never tire basking in. I'm so fortunate to have so many incredibly talented friends from all over the country and world!

Finally, I'm thankful for the enormous honor of winning Best of Show. Wow. Thank you! 🤩

These are just some of the words that I was unable to find on Saturday and I could go on...but it would appear I need to hit that bench HARD, so off I go. 🔨😘

Artist Statement

I use silver and gold to create unique fine jewelry that accentuates every individual’s personal sense of style. I fabricate all pieces using a variety of techniques and often incorporate precious, semi-precious and non-precious stones. I find inspiration in the process that brings metal and stone from the earth to a completed piece. The extraction of rough elements and the refinement of those materials stimulate my desire to further refine while enhancing the original natural aspects. It is a give and take between the material and myself. While aesthetically pleasing from a distance, the full reward comes from leaning in and pouring oneself into a piece and focusing on its intricacies.

I started working with metals in 2006 at the Craft Alliance in St. Louis and instantly fell in love with the material. I moved on to obtain her BFA in Metalsmithing at SIUE under the tutelage of Paulette Myers. After undergrad I worked at James Durbin Jewelry Design under Roger Rimel where I honed my fine metal and jewelry skills. I currently live and create in Edwardsville, IL amidst fruit trees, a hop farm, and two feisty pups. I travel to display and sell my work in various shows and galleries.
