Avalanche The SuperMal Avalanche was my 9.75 y/o, 113lb wooly Alaskan Malamute. He's my reward for beating cancer, he's a cancer survivor himself, & he's a certified therapy dog.

I just shared this story on a Malamute page, and figured y'all might enjoy this as well. It's one of my favorite memories of Av:

My first Mal came downstairs while I was watching TV, and got in my face. Staring at me. That was his way of telling me he wanted something. So I started asking him things. "Do you need to go potty?" He turned his head away to the side for a moment, then looked back at me. So I asked another question, "Do you want water?" Again, head turned to the side two look away in disgust that I'm too stupid to figure out what he wanted on the first try 🤣 I proceed to go through EVERYTHING I can think of, "Do you want... Food, treat, go for a walk, go for a ride, Apple (which was his most favorite thing EVER), go to the store, play, etc etc etc".... I couldn't think of anything else, and every time he turned his head away and then looked back at me. Then, it dawned on me, "Avalanche, do you want ice cube?"
WOOOO WOOOO WOOOOOOOOO WOO WOOOOOOO!!! 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 like he was saying "Of COURSE I want ice cube you Stoopid hooman! What took you so long?!" 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 I gave him BETTER options, and he waited me out until he got exactly what he wanted.

I gave him the entire tray of ice cubes

In memory of my beautiful angel Avalanche The SuperMal, I found an amazing artist Cameo Anderson - Writer / Illustrator who helped me bring my past and present together. I had this wonderful piece made including my current pack Crimson, Copper & Halo The WonderMals. Halo & Copper are playing, while Crimson & Avalanche discuss how much we still miss him. I gave this picture to my parents last night, and I will post the video of their reaction as well. I am SO grateful to Cameo for this work of art 💗
