I got to see Seymour, Owen and Gus today. As you can see from the photos, they are not ready to come home. Gus is stable but not wanting to eat yet. He can’t come home until he eats normally and without vomiting. Owen is weak but still eating well and drinking. He’s also stable but they aren’t sure yet what is causing his weakness. The thyroid tests came back normal which is good but now we have to figure out how to get weight back on him. He got a dose of Nutrical while I was there and that’s why he’s drooling, he hates that stuff.
Seymour is still a mystery. He’s been in fluids since Saturday so his dehydration issues are almost gone. He’s terrified of everyone in the clinic which explains why he looks so freaked out in the photo. He was not like that with me but any tech or the vet walking by made him cower like that. Poor boy. They still had not examined his mouth when I got there as our regular vet is on vacation so they are depending on the sub who was busy with the emergencies all day.
We should know more tomorrow.
At this point I don’t know what to think. Owen and Gus are older cats and it’s hard to say what the outcome will be for them. I think Seymour will be okay if they can figure out what is going on and find a solution for him.
I am feeling discouraged because the vet bill is climbing and without having a goal and a plan in place for the boys there is a chance they could be there all week. They are in good hands, I am not worried about that, but just worried about the outcome for each of them.
I have no time to do a fundrazor for them right now so I am asking you to please keep sharing as much as you can. We need all the help we can get.
As of today the bill is pushing $1700 and that’s not including Seymour yet because they haven’t done much with him other than give him fluids and antibiotics.
If you want to help or know someone that does the clinic can be contacted directly at Stanford Veterinary Hospital. 606-365-0911 8am-5pm M-F eastern time.

Thank you to everyone that has been praying for the boys, donating, sharing and messaging me out of concern, all of you are appreciated and I am grateful for your support.
I will update tomorrow when I have a chance to talk with the vet tech again. Hopefully we will have some answers about Seymour by then.
Have a good night everyone!

Please continue to keep my boys in your prayers. I am hoping all 3 can come home tomorrow but I haven’t heard anything today so I really don’t know how they are. I guess, as the saying goes, no news is good news. I know someone would have called me if any of them had issues so I am confident they are all stable and doing okay for the moment.
I have no idea how high the vet bill is going to be, but I am estimating around $1800 in total. We can use all the help we can get to ensure the bill is paid in full. I am overwhelmed at having 3 cats so sick at the same time and not having the time to do any fundrazors. I am planning an awkshin maybe around the first week of July to try it cover expenses for awhile but we’ll see how that works out. No guarantees it will happen right now, but I will try.
I will update tomorrow when I either hear from the vet or get the boys home.
If anyone would like to help with the bill, you may call the clinic directly at Stanford Veterinary Hospital- 606-365-0911

Thank you to all who have helped with donations and sharing and of course your prayers and well wishes! I am hoping all 3 boys come home tomorrow and we can put this ordeal behind us.
Have a great start to your week everyone! 💙💙💙

Good afternoon furriends! Thanks to my roommate, we were able to get Seymour safely to the vet this morning. He seemed to do okay during the night but I was up often, checking the cameras to see if he ever came inside the cat house during the night. He did not. I went outside around 7:30 am and he was in the same spot I left him in last night. Sometime after that he got himself into the cat house on his own and he drank quite a bit of water but refused to eat. I got about 1/4 dose clindamycin into him but his mouth is so sore that he got very upset. Shortly after that we took him to the vet and the techs said they would get him on fluids immediately and start antibiotics by IV so they don’t have to mess with his mouth at all. I am just relieved he was okay through the night and is safe and in good hands at the clinic. They are wonderful there and I can stop worrying now, knowing he’s getting the fluids he desperately needs.
Gus, on the pink blanket, is doing very well. He was alert and purring his head off when I saw him. I gave him lots of attention and loved on him awhile. He has not eaten yet but they were going to offer him food today to see how that goes. Overall he looks a lot better than the day I took him in.
Owen is also doing well. (Black cat).
He looks messy but also a lot more perky than two days ago. He was very busy drinking water this morning and emptied his bowl once and half of it again. I barely got time to love on him because water was more important today. lol.
His glucose was 461 when he went in on Thursday and this morning it was 61! The good thing about that is we know the Bexacat is working now, and that’s a huge relief. He will also be getting T3 and T4 thyroid test today to see if his thyroid is okay or not since he’s so thin now and also if that may be causing his heart to have an arrhythmia.
His mouth looks so much better already and he seems to be feeling very little to no pain as he’s eating normally and doesn’t act like anything is wrong at all.
The staff were very attentive with all the cats this morning and I know they are being well cared for.
Another piece of good news I got is that this vet clinic is moving into the town I live in sometime later this year! That will be amazing and awesome! It’s only about 7 miles now but right here in town would be so much better in the event of an emergency and makes it easier to go visit my cats if they are ever in there multiple days.
Please continue to keep these sweet boys in your prayers and also keep sharing their stories. I have never had 3 cats at the vet all at once with critical issues like this. I am exhausted and mentally super stressed out. The vet bill will be astronomical and then there is the aftercare when they come home. Hoping all 3 can come home Monday but we won’t know about Seymour until the vet examines him. Owen should be fine and Gus, hopefully will be well enough to come home too.

Thank you to everyone who has been praying for my sweet boys and who have donated towards their care and for sharing this with others! I am beyond grateful to all of you and it makes my heart happy to know there are so many kind and caring people out there who love my cats from all over the world!
I will update again when I hear from the vet tech later tonight or tomorrow.
Have a great weekend everyone!

Good evening furriends!
I don't even know where to begin with this post. My nerves are beyond shot today and I am stressed beyond belief.
Seymour is now very sick. He needs to be at the vet tomorrow before noon. He's extremely dehydrated and in a lot of pain in his mouth. I don't know why. I spoke with the vet yesterday and today and they think there may be a tooth root stuck somewhere from his dental surgery a few months ago. She did say there were several broken teeth so if there was one root stuck under the gums it was obviously not visible at the time. That's just a theory. He needs fluids and he needs antibiotics. I have him on clindamycin but that's not helping much and they sent me some pain medication today which he got at supper time but that's just a bandaid on the real issue. That's THREE cats with critical issues in one week! I don't get it.
The vet bill is about to blow the roof of the clinic at this rate. No wonder they like me so much over there - I keep them in business!
Gus is stable and doing better today. He will remain at the vet until Monday to be sure the pancreatitis is healing and that he is also responding well to the treatment. He had an incident this morning when they went to give him his meds, the catheter in his leg blew the vein it was in, so they had to reinsert it into his other leg. Poor guy. He's okay but they think he may have pulled on it during the night and it came out far enough that it wasn't able to hold the medicine properly this morning. We don't know but it's what they suspect happened.
Owen - he's okay. He had the tumor removed from his mouth this afternoon and they cauterized the surrounding tissue to ensure there was nothing left for it to regrow. They believe that it was caused by a tooth root that was left years ago when he had most of his teeth pulled. The tooth that the tumor was in front of was also removed today but that tooth was not the cause of the problem. They removed it as a precaution to avoid this happening again, as well as another canine that was showing signs of infection. At this time, he has ONE tooth left LOL.
She said that tooth looked fine, no need to pull it - so they didn't.
He had an EKG of his heart, as well as x-rays and an ultrasound of his heart because he has an arrythmia that sounds like a horse galloping. His heart is strong, and there was no sign of fluid around his heart, lungs or in his abdomen. The next thing they are looking at is his thyroid to see if that's what is causing the heart issue. We have not gotten those results back yet.
He did fine through the surgery though, no issues and was waking up when the vet tech called to update me.
I can't keep doing this. I love these 3 boys to pieces but my gosh, all 3 critically ill in one week is making me second-guess what I'm doing. I just hope Seymour will be okay through the night. Dehydration is nothing to fool with and I am well aware of that. I do have fluids on hand - but trying to touch him right now turns him into an animated cactus. I don't want to stress him out further with that. The vet tech said he should be okay until morning but I can't help being paranoid.
I can't get him to eat but he did drink quite a bit this afternoon, so I'm hoping that will sustain him over night.
Please pray he does okay through the night and that I can get him to the vet in the morning. I don't want to pay emergency fees.

If anyone can help with this ginormous vet bill, that keeps climbing, I would be so grateful. I know a few of you already have and thank you from the bottom of my heart. I cannot do this without you incredible folks and since I can't do any fundrazors (spelled incorrectly on purpose), right now, I don't have a choice but to request help this way.
The vet does take donations by phone - they can be reached at Stanford Veterinary Hospital, 606-365-0911 - 8 am - 12 noon Eastern tomorrow and 8am-5pm M-F.

UPDATE: Gus is also spending the weekend because they discovered he has pancreatitis too. Owen will have surgery in the morning to remove the mass in his mouth. Vet does not think it’s cancerous but will know more after it is removed. Please keep my boys in your prayers. Thanks everyone! 💙💙

‼️‼️🆘‼️‼️ MAYDAY, MAYDAY, MAYDAY‼️‼️‼️
Owen and Gus are both at the vet as I type this. We need help, urgently!!! I THOUGHT Gus was going to be the problem and I was going to be letting him go. He's got a bad upper respiratory infection but is otherwise just fine. He has been treated for that and will be having a f***l test done to see what the cause of his diarrhea is (he's had that his whole life), and also a sanitation shave for his butt to help keep it clean because he's a hot mess. Otherwise, vet sees no other issues - I am extremely grateful for that!
Owen......not so good news! That photo I showed you the other day for what I thought was a tooth abscess - is not an abscess but a mass. He is having it removed this afternoon. The vet doesn't know right now if it's cancer or benign but he said it needs to come out either way.
His glucose was also badly out of whack this morning but I attribute that to the fact that they told me not to give him any food or his meds this morning in case he needed to be sedated for a tooth removal. So I didn't. His sugar was up to 441 this morning when they tested it. He also has heart issues and the vet is wanting to do a heart ultrasound and x-ray to see what exactly is going on. That's not really new, because years ago he was said to have a heart murmur, which turned out to be false but he has always had an arrhythmia of sorts, so we've just kept an eye on it and it's never caused any issues.
He still has a coccidia infection so that is also needing another round of treatment.

I am a bundle of nerves right now due to the cost of all of this. I haven't got time for an awkshin or a purraffle, and I refuse to do any more purraffles for awhile but this bill for Owen alone is almost $900 and for Gus it's almost $400. I have just under half of that. I asked the vet to take off what isn't absolutely necessary for Owen but I feel like I'm being unfair to him by doing that. He and Gus are my last two core colony members and losing either of them would devastate me. It was bad enough losing Lois, who started this whole thing but her death was not anticipated. She was fine that morning and gone that afternoon without warning.
Please, please share this plea for help. I cannot do this on what I have from the purraffle and a few donations that have come in. I have 25+ other cats to think about. Seymour is also battling something, Pixel is still having breathing issues, Stewie - I don't know what's bugging him, Petey, Knox and Skye have URI's too. It's making me nuts!
If anyone would prefer to donate directly to the clinic, you're more than welcome to do that at Stanford Veterinary Hospital - 606-365-0911. Diana is the main secretary right now but you can talk to anyone that answers the call.

Thank you to everyone who has been praying for my boys and who have helped whether with Paypal, CashApp or food - y'all are amazing. This is turning into a nightmare I didn't anticipate and I'm trying not to panic but these two boys have been with me longer than any of the others and part of the reason I started my colony and this page. I love all the cats but only these two are left from the group it all started with. It just hits different, if that makes sense.
I will update you as soon as I hear from the vet on what the results are for Owen. Both boys are scheduled to come home tomorrow provided all goes well.
I hope y'all have a better day than I'm having. :)

Owen and Gus will be seeing the vet tomorrow. There is a 60-70% chance I will be saying goodbye to Gus. He’s not doing well and I am skeptical that it’s just an upper respiratory infection given how labored his breathing is. Owen will likely have to have the abscessed tooth removed so they will both be dropped off in the morning and will be seen when the vet can fit them in. I hate doing it that way but I can’t allow either of them to suffer either.
I don’t have the funds to run all kinds of tests on Gus so I’m not sure what can be done for him if this is serious beyond a URI.
I am so worried about losing him. He and Owen are the last two surviving members of my core colony. They are how all of this started back in 2011-12. Gus has never left me since the day he showed up and he is such a sweet and gentle boy. It breaks my heart to think of losing him but I can’t let him keep going like this either.
Owen is in a lot of pain and the vet said that the abscess in his mouth might also be caused by his diabetes. They will do a curve test tomorrow and also check his ketones.
I can’t do this without help. I have no idea what this will cost. I had money to get meds today but now the vet won’t release the meds without seeing them both. I wasn’t expecting that right now.
I plan to have Gus cremated if I have to let him go. I can’t bear the thought of leaving him on a pile of dead cats to be burned and disposed of like trash. I can’t do that to my Gus Buster. He needs to be back here with us after cremation. He has a long history with me and I can’t just toss him aside.
If anyone can help with the cost, you are more than welcome to call the clinic directly tomorrow at Stanford Veterinary hospital- 606-365-0911
You can talk to anyone that answers.

This is Owen today. The abscess on his tooth is worse. He can’t have surgery done right now because he’s not strong enough due to his extreme weight loss from his diabetes. He’s also got severe diarrhea. Vet thinks it’s coccidia that did not clear out completely with the last medication he got for it. I will be getting more tomorrow. I am up to 8 cats with upper respiratory infections now. Today Petey and Junior were also sneezing and Junior’s eyes are yucky. Mitzi is showing signs of it too. Please keep my babies in your prayers. This is a bit scary. Thanks 🙏

Gus is really sick with an upper respiratory infection. Seymour is sick with something but I don’t know what. Pixel won’t eat and is having breathing issues, Knox and Skye both have the sneezies and Owen has a huge abscess on the bottom left side of his mouth. I haven’t got the funds to deal with everybody. I am supposed to get meds from the vet tomorrow but it’s either that or feed the entire colony. How do I choose? This last paw-ruffle was a bust. Facebook blocked us repeatedly plus they can’t figure out why my Instagram account is disconnected and can’t figure out how to fix the issue so posts are not being added there anymore either. I’ve dealt with 6 different people at Meta for the past week with zero results. I don’t most of today on Chat GPT trying to get answers and nothing worked with that either. I’m frustrated and overwhelmed. I am down to one case of food and one bag of dry food. Spent most of the paw ruffle money on food this weekend and litter pellets not anticipating needing a ton of meds for the cats today.
I’m losing Gus, I can feel it. This is not how I want him to go, being so sick with a URI. He deserves to live his last days happy and content. Not like this. I don’t even have the funds to euthanize him if necessary. Look at that face! He’s been with me since 2012. He’s getting old and it shows but he and Owen are all I have left of the colony core group. Vinny is next but he came a few years later.
I’m just feeling sad for Gus, worried about the others and not sure what to do.
If anyone can help at least with the meds that would be amazing.
I don’t have a total yet but they will call me tomorrow to let me know.
It depends on what the vet says he wants me to use.

Chico and Owen down with the squirts again and Flossie still dealing with her URI! No paw-ruffle entries in 4 days. Can’t even get meds from the vet to treat this for any of them. Vet wants Owen in for another f***l and to test his glucose level. I can’t do it.
Feeling frustrated tonight. Not sure what to do. I’ll update you tomorrow. Have a good night!
