Puppy Manners class will be beginning April 16th at 6:30pm at the San Diego Zoo parking lot. For puppies ages 12-13 weeks old, vaccination requirements, to 7 months old.
Get a good start to socializing your puppies in a safe and kind environment. At the same time learning how to teach your puppy appropriate behavior. Register at this link!

October Annual meeting/ Halloween party.
Fun was had by all! Thanks to Valerie, charing the event, and all the volunteers We had games, prizes and lreats to eat. 60 plus members joined in the fun. Mark your calendars for next year!

Finished up our very first Parkour class last night! All the dogs did fantastic, gaining confidence and new skills!

We also tired out Bodhi….a feat of its own!

Our first CGCU class last night! We walked thru the Hotel Del and practiced stairs, elevators, walking thru crowded streets and eating together at an Irish Pub! Thank you Audrey for your help and to a great class of handler and dog teams. You guys rock! Debbie Vachal

There is still space available in the Wednesday Novice Courses class! We need at least 2 more people to enroll...otherwise the class won't meet the minimum students required.

Rally Novice - Courses

Prerequisite: Completion of Rally Novice Signs class OR having earned Rally titles on prior dogs OR with instructor approval.
Class Description:

This class will focus on teaching the skills needed to successfully complete a Rally Novice course. The goal of this class is to prepare you and your dog to compete in a Rally trial at the Novice level.

Class Length: 6 weeks
Cost: $80
Class Size: Minimum of 4, maximum of 6 dogs
Day/Time: Wednesday, 6:30 pm - 7:30 pm
Class Dates: May 24 - June 28, 2023

All classes are held in the San Diego Zoo Parking Lot.

No Aggressive Dogs Allowed, No Females in Heat.

OCSDC Members are eligible to participate in Drop-in Rally after completing this class.

AKC S.T.A.R Puppy Class open for registration!

Description: For puppies 4 to 6 months of age.

S.T.A.R puppy class provides one orientation and 6 organized training sessions that include socialization tools and obstacles.

Class Length: 7 weeks

Cost: $100

Class Size: Minimum of 8, maximum of 12 puppies

Age Limit: 4 to 6 months of age

Day/Time: Tuesday, 6:30 pm - 7:30 pm

Class Dates: May 16 - June 27, 2023

This class will consist of 7 weeks of instruction including an orientation without dogs.

All classes are held in the San Diego Zoo Parking Lot.

Links to the class registration will be emailed to Regular Members, then Associate Members, and once open to the public a link will be available on our website. Some classes fill up fast, so don’t delay in registering!

We had a last minute opening in our Beginner Scent Work - Part 2 class! It starts tonight at 6:30pm and goes for 6 weeks. All classes meet in the parking lot of the San Diego Zoo.

This is NOT an Introduction to Scent Work. This class is for dogs who are alerting on Birch, but have not trialed and do not have any titles in Scent Work

Class Offering: Novice/Intermediate Trick Dog
Prerequisite: Beginning Obedience
Class Length: 6 weeks
Day/Time: Thursday, 6:30pm - 7:30pm
Dates: March 23 - April 27, 2023

Class Description: You can now earn AKC Trick Dog titles thru the OCSDC's Trick Dog Class. Novice/Intermediate Trick Dog class will cover training of the tricks from the Novice or Intermediate Tricks Checklist. Each week you’ll get a chance to demonstrate the tricks your dog has mastered. If you’ve demonstrated 10 of the tricks by the end of class (only 5 tricks are needed if you already have your CGC title!), you’ll earn your official AKC Novice or Intermediate Trick Dog title!
