I love that speckly belly on Loki
Dang Calypso, where did this growth suddenly come from?!
Getting chunky now girly
Oleander, as usual, was a wonderful model 🥰
1.0 CB18 Mystic Potion Royal Python.
Lovely boy Hemlock is growing nicely, all being well I'll be pairing himto Ivy in the not so distant future! ❤
1.0 CB22 Banana Lesser Royal Python.
Rose, as usual, being a pain in the butt.. I would have got her out for photos, but she was determined to try and eat me, so instead have a photo of her in her enclosure, seconds before she decided I looked tasty again 🤣
As was posted earlier, her babies from this year are officially out!
0.1 CB15 Frosted Western Hognose.
The day has come, seven healthy baby hognoses 😊
Out of nine eggs, one didn't make it through incubation, and one pipped but failed to leave the egg, the other seven had absolutely no issues and have now been sorted into their tubs to rest for a week before I offer first meals

Calypso recently shed and has gained some serious length, now she just needs to start growing outwards a bit 🤣
0.1 CB22 Frosted Western Hognose.
Loki did indeed do the job, Amara has graced me with 20 fertile eggs today, her biggest clutch to date I think, and 1 slug 🥰
The boy finally got the job done by the looks of it.
I posted that he seemed to be wary of Amara, the next day they both refused their food, two days later they were both active and all over, so I decided to just try them again. Within a minute they were locked up, and now Amara has shed and is looking very rotund, so a lay box has been provided. Might get those corn snake babies this year afterall, just later than planned 😂
The old boy, only a few months away from being 16 years old, his eyes are definitely going and he's a bit 'creaky', but otherwise he's doing very well 💛
Cereus, CB08 1.0 Butter Corn Snake.
Calypso is really growing now, can't wait to see this girl all grown up 🥰
CB22 0.1 Frosted Western Hognose.
I think Loki might have been intimidated by Amara, which I don't blame him for, she is quite a bit bigger than him 🤣
CB21 1.0 Tesseract 66% poss het Motley(possibly visual) Corn Snake.
Someone has certainly been taking advantage of the extra food, given on the off chance that she actually produced a clutch of eggs... Since it's now obvious that's not going to happen, back to regular feeding now madam! 😂
Amara, CB14 0.1 Normal het Amel, Caramel, Hypo Corn Snake.
Quick phone photo of Calypso wondering what I was doing.
I was cleaning her water, that's all 😂
0.1 Frosted Western Hognose.
Oleander was feeling a little adventurous for photos, so only a couple of him 🥰
1.0 Mystic Potion Royal Python.
I did manage to get a few quick photos of Hemlock, he was being shy though 😂
1.0 Banana Lesser Royal Python.
Quick phone photo from this morning, she's still going as of this moment, maybe there will be some hognose babies this year after all, albeit a little later than planned 😅
Edit: The final count is 9 fertile... And tbh I was lucky to get those.
I took those 9 off her earlier today and got them set up in the incubator, to stop her rolling them or damaging them at all, I then went out at 2pm, one final check to see how she was going, she was still laying so I left her to it, she had laid a few more fertile eggs and had a few slugs in with her... 4:30pm I got back, checked on her expecting to see her resting after laying... Instead I found out that she'd decided to turn around and eat all of the eggs in her lay box, except for one slug. So it's lucky I took those 9 off her this morning, otherwise they would have likely been snacks too 🙃
I am apologising in advance if posts lapse for a while, I will try and get updated photos to share, but I had the utter heartbreak of having to have my 16 year old cat PTS yesterday, so please understand I am very fragile right now mentally, and I may need some time before I can resume posting.
If you follow me on Instagram, you will see the last post about Ivy posted on there soon, this is because I have it already scheduled to post, but after that there are no more scheduled to post either on here or on Instagram.
I will be back as and when I can, but please understand I have had this cat almost his entire life, since he was a roughly 8 week old kitten, and he has been with me for over half my life, I am currently 27 and he turned 16 last month.
Thank you for being understanding ❤️
Ivy absolutely would not let me get a nice clear photo of her head when I was holding her, but she did sit still when I put her down on the bed for a second 🥰
0.1 CB21 Lesser/Butter* Royal Python.
*There has been some debate over the years on whether Ivy is a lesser or a butter, since they are exactly the same gene, and the only difference is some visual difference, she will now be labelled as lesser/butter for all future posts.
Just a few quick ones of Hemlock before I lost the light tonight, this boy is growing like a w**d right now! He's got some catching up to do to reach the same size as Oleander though, but then again... Oli has got 4 years growth on Hemlock 😂
1.0 CB22 Banana Lesser Royal Python.
Tizheruk is still very much slighted that he's not getting to see a lady this year, and so I have been sufficiently told off by him for that. Maybe next year bud, we'll see how things go..
CB19 1.0 Diablo Frosted western hognose.
So Rose did lay a clutch of eggs in March, on the 24th, but unfortunately they were entirely slugs. Given that Rose has never slugged out before, and I know Thorne is a good breeder, I can only assume I missed her ovulation. Thankfully, she did not lose too much body condition, and has continued to eat with no issues after laying, so Thorne here has since been reintroduced to Rose, and with all luck the next clutch will be fertile.
CB14 1.0 Normal het Frosted western hognose.
On the contrary, lots of photos of Calypso! This girl is finally getting some growing done, I think she's finally decided food is, indeed, tasty and necessary.
CB22 0.1 Frosted western hognose.
Just a couple of photos of the old boy, he's increasingly difficult to get photos of these days as it really takes two hands to hold him most of the time, he's getting a little creaky and less bendy as he gets older. I managed a couple though, as you can see his eyes are also going, but that hasn't slowed him down at all!
Cereus, CB08 1.0 Butter corn snake.
Amara is currently in shed and looking a little round in the lower half, so here's hoping that means this boy has done his job 😂
Loki, 1.0 CB21 Tesseract corn snake.
Happy Easter!
I hope everyone has a good day, whether you're doing the full Easter celebration or not.
Ivy, 0.1 CB21 Lesser Royal Python.
I so rarely get to take photos of this boy, as he's usually very upset about being disturbed for absolutely any reason at all. Apparently, he was feeling pretty friendly though, and he was perfectly fine with me getting him out for a quick check over and some photos.
Jupiter, 1.0 CB16 Kenyan sand boa.
I had one very wriggly Hemlock when I tried taking photos of him, so only a couple of him unfortunately.
1.0 CB22 Banana Lesser.
The one and only Loki, hopefully this boy will be successfully paired to Amara this year, nothing exciting in this clutch, but the future clutches should be fun.
1.0 CB21 Tesseract 66% poss het Motley.

Hillside Reptiles, previously Steel City Reptiles, was started when our first clutch of corn snake eggs were laid in 2014. Unfortunately we lost the dam to this clutch in 2017, but we kept one of the hatchlings and still have the sire. Now we breed corn snakes and western hognoses, as well as keeping a variety of other animals. Ranging from cute and fluffy to some people’s worst nightmares!
