Jason Ahrens who is SHANE JONES From SAHARA formerly SA Dog Rescue was selling compressed oaten hay.....Our question is why is he not feeding it to his animals? Considering he was in court for neglecting the animals in his care along with his partner/wife Carole Morris who are both now convicted animal abusers!

Shane Jones and his partner/wife run/operate South Australian Humane Animal Rescue Association Inc through their friend because they are not allowed to be on the board of SAHARA or have any input into the operations or decision making in regards to the animals, so they have their dear friend on the board who they dictate too. Everyone knows them as SAHARA formerly SA Dog Rescue who also run Sahara formerly SA Dog Rescue Op Shop they haven't reported their financials now for nearly 4 years but ACNC still allow them to operate without these crucial documents? Why haven't they submitted their financials yet? We believe its due to misuse of funds by Carole Morris and Shane Jones who we believe at least one of them has been receiving a wage from the rescue as well as benefiting from the rescue by receiving rent for the two properties they own!

YOUR DONATIONS HAVE BEEN PAYING CONVICTED ANIMAL ABUSERS!

MORE ANIMAL CRUELTY WITHIN RESCUES HERE IN SOUTH AUSTRALIA - We need change to happen immediately!

WITH SO MANY ANIMAL RESCUE ORGANISATIONS BEING CONVICTED OF ANIMAL CRUELTY HERE IS SA ITS TIME TO SAY ENOUGH IS ENOUGH!

We will be lobbying for Mandatory requirements for all rescues!
- All animals must be desexed once they enter rescues care (Except for puppies and kittens until they are of age to be desexed)
- All animals must be microchipped at time of desexing
- If the animal is already desexed at time of entering the rescues care but not microchipped then the rescue must microchip the animal within 14 days
- All animals to have a clear photo taken (front on) with date showing the animal of the day of arrival into the rescues care and kept on file along with the animals surrender forms with date of surrender
- All animals must have a surrender form dated and signed by the surrender owner at time of surrender along with the surrenders contact details and address (must sight their drivers licence or proof of age card)
- All rescues to have their DACO number taken away but replaced with a rescue registration number - RRN that forbids the breeding of any of its animals and this number will be linked to their ACNC registration.
- All rescues to have their own Rescue register that they log into and lodge a registration within 14 days of any new animals entering their care with a clear photo of the animal and copy of surrender form for that animal and its desexing certificate and microchip registration paper work
- All rescues to have their own Rescue Register with DACO to register every single animals it has in its care
- All rescues to have a foster carer register with the names, contact numbers and addresses of all foster carers with what animals they have in their care and this will need to be updated monthly.
- All rescues to submit their financials no matter how big or small they are for each financial year showing where all donations were spent and have all receipts to show where money has gone and its purpose, if this is not done then your charity license will be revoked
- All rescues must have a licence to operate and be registered with the ACNC no matter how big or small they are.

This all should be in place regardless if it was law or not but it will curb any rescues lying about any animal in their care or when it entered their care and prevent renaming of its animals. This is to keep the animals safe but also to ensure that in the case of any rescues neglecting its animals that there is a legal paper trail to confirm date of entry into the rescue and a photo to prove who each animal is as well as helping to prevent charity fraud or using donations for their own benefit.

***Do a quick google search to check if the charity you are donating too, fostering for or leaving a bequest too, to check if they have been to court or convicted of animal cruelty or fraud!

There have been quite a few so far here in SA with convictions and pitiful outcomes like court ordered conditions. Do your research!

Ranger

Ranger is the most lovable dog you could come across. He is sweet, calm and gentle but he loves to also be active, run and zoom! Ranger has been training with our team at Take the Lead for a number of years, but unfortunately recently we have had to find him a new space to call home.

Looking for a running buddy? Ranger is your boy.

Looking for a dog to enjoy the outdoors with? That is Ranger!

Ranger is looking for a home as an only dog (or animal for that matter) where he can lap up all of the attention. He is smart and has a solid foundation of basic obedience. He has also dived into scent detection and is in the early stages! He appears to be great with all humans and never passes up a scratch, belly rub or butt scratch.

Ranger is beautiful with respectful children and is fully house trained along with fully crate trained.

Ranger's adoption fee is $350.00 and that includes desexing, vaccination, microchip transfer, flea/worm and heart worm prevention. Our team at Take the Lead will also offer a training handover to ensure the new home can keep up with Rangers training.
