All our swallows are getting ready to go. It is going to be so quiet without them. These are the parents and all their offspring for this year. Most managed 2 clutches, some even did 3. See you next Spring. Be safe.
Still hot here. This is Annie, who is being fostered by Hadrena. She'll be available for adoption at the end of September. For more info pm me.
We're having some unexpected and much needed rain. Look at the swallows enjoying a shower.
New toys arrived from Sam for Bailey after Clarissa, the little greyhound destroyed the lot.
Bought an indestructible toy from Temu for Anina our pitty. Anina Looooves toys and plastic bottles. She flat packs them for me. 😂.. Anyway toy arrived yesterday. Nasty piece of hard plastic, no squeaker or anything. Judge for yourself. Her face says it all. Yes it's indestructible because nobody likes it!!!

Just want to say a big thank you to everyone who bought one of the paintings I posted recently you raised £275 with a bit more to come this has been sent to Maxime for the dogs 🐕 ❤️❤️
That's better. Upmarket snacks. 😂. Mechko the karakachan is looking a bit ragged. He needs to be put under anaesthetic to be groomed here. It's been too hot to do this safely. Mechko cannot be handled safely. Once it gets a bit cooler I'll try to get it done. All the dogs are confined to their kennels for a few days. One of our fences is down. It was hanging on with the help of a climbing rose and a lot of luck. 😂. Valentin our builder is on it.
Ran out of fancy snacks. They are coming in on Tuesday. In the meantime my poor starving 😂 dogs are getting cheap biscuits as snacks. Not impressed clearly. .
Timmy doing so much better.
2 days ago I got a call from a good friend that she picked up a little dog from the road with an ingrown rope in his neck. She brought him here. I cleaned up as much as I could and managed to get the baling twine out of his neck. Shaved the matted coat off and treated him for fleas and ticks which he was crawling with. He went to Madlen the vet yesterday for bloodtests etc. Positive for heartworm and aneamic. He is about 10 plus. No front teeth and the remaining molars are rotten. These will be removed after 6 months. We cannot do anything until we are more on top of the heartworm and the wounds around his neck. So atm doxycycline and steroids. Neck cleaning daily. Our lovely friends from Food Fairies for Street Dogs & Cats in the UK covered his medical costs. I'm so grateful for this. They named him Timmy. I have sanitised the video a bit. I keep forgetting that what is now pretty common for us is not common for normal people. Welcome to Timmy who has joined our pack of misfits and delinquents. 😂
Not on the bed. Definitely not on the bed. 🤣
Young George has joined our group. George belonged to a friend rescuer of ours, who raised him and his siblings from pup. George was the smallest of the litter and on top had parvo. His siblings were all adopted but George has health issues probably remains from the parvo. Last Saturday George was attacked by his pack and almost killed. He has horrendous bite wounds and bruises all over his body and is lucky to be alive. Once this happens a dog cannot go back to the group. They will attack again. My friend made the absolute right decision and handed George over to us. George will live with Clementine, Lizzie, Bailey, Katy and little Clarissa. And yes he is totally cross eyed. 😂
One mini chihuahua rehomed and the next small one has arrived. Little Clarissa. Mini pinscher. Tiny ball of fun. Very smart little girl. Tiny!!!! Eats dog food. Yeah!!!!!
And she has just been adopted. She will be joining Dessa the chihuahua as soon as I can get her ready for travel.
Finally some rain with thunder and a, gorgeous cool breeze
Katy is doing so well. Love this little girl.
First time that Katy felt relaxed enough to have a nap without being held. Before she would only sleep when I held her and she could put her paws around my neck and her face hidden in my hair. She has separation anxiety not surprising. This little old dog lost her owner, her home, was left in a shelter.. Lost and lonely, grieving, stressed, sick with an UTI. Not the first time that we have had dogs like her here. So lost and confused just makes you cry. You want to help but you are not the person they are looking for, you don't have the right voice and smell, you don't know what they like to eat even, don't speak the right language, don't know their name.
This!! Relatives of people ,that have passed away, is what you are doing to their beloved pets. When you discard them like they are old rubbish without any feelings. Is this how you honour your grandparents, parents!!! Disgusting behaviour!!!! Rant over.
Katy another difficult eater. We've just gone through this with little Dessa. OK so we tried every type of dry and wet dog food. Chicken in every shape or form, beef, fish, liver, heart, gizzard and now we're are getting in the realms of the crazy. Yesterday she ate cold chips and ham. Didn't want that this morning. She finally settled for bread soaked in raw egg. This is the 3rd trial for lunch. Bulgarian hamburger (kofte), Bulgarian sausage, raw steak, yoghurt, potato, rich tea biscuit. Yes I did mention we are in the realms of crazy.
