Thread: Grumpy need you!
It's Monday, and all the cats (and ) that didn't "show well" are still at your local wishing someone understood them.
As someone who doesn't "show well" when I'm at a human clinic - and a shelter is very much like a clinic, I understand. I don't expect them all to be happy snuggly. Esp cats usually confined to very small cages too small to turn around, beds food and water jammed up against dirty litter. I don't like to eat next to the toilet either.
So maybe consider the that is frightened or hiding That doesn't just jump into your lap immediately. You can ask about Foster to Adopt, take them home, give them some space to decompress, treats, sit and read to them at night. Let them begin to comprehend they are safe, and you are lovely. For some it only takes a day or 2. For my Garth it took 2 weeks to come out from under the bed. For others who suffered abuse previously, it took months.
It was worth the wait.
You can help the and that get overlooked by to walk, play, treat, and love them at the shelter or in fostering. Volunteers provide staff with written notes on observations which can be put in their adoption profile
