I’ve seen this before; And it’s a pretty fair assessment. While you and your family are very excited and very proud of your new dog, ; your new dog is generally trying to figure out if they are in danger or not, as well as, if they are going to live, where do they fit in the hierarchy.

So be kind AND lead. Lead gently and lead firmly. Fair but firm. Consistently. Help them to learn the rules of your pack and be there to protect and guide them.

Welcome Ozzy to the pack. He has determined that training is exhausting. 😂🥰

Why we do what we do.

In Touch Dog Training was born from tragedy. 14 years ago my two Dalmatians ran off after something. (A rabbit, a squirrel, a fox? I never found out.) In the process of chasing after that animal they found a hole in the fence of the field that we were in at the time. That hole separated the field from the train line. They were both hit by and killed by that train. I found them on the tracks. I picked up their bodies (Baron was split open in the side so that I had to hold his intestines inside of him. Lady was decapitated.) and moved them off the tracks. After two months of extreme depression I made a promise to them and to myself that something like this would never happen again to my dogs. That promise fueled my desire to find and develop ways of training that work for every day people. Real people, with real lives. That horrendous experience informs how we train to this very day. And we make the same promise to you, our clients. We don’t do competitions. We don’t train to look pretty. We train dogs for your world. The real world. The world with careers and kids. The world with everyday stresses and concerns. The world with friends with other dogs. We train dogs to help them have as much joy and freedom as can be possible for them. We also train you so that living with your dog brings you joy and creates a deeper, richer, more fulfilling bond with your dog. We believe in dog training for the real world. In Touch Dog Training is located in the beautiful Fox Valley area. We provide dog training, as well as rehabilitation services, for anyone, no matter where they live, that desires to have a deeper, richer, and more fulfilling relationship with their dog. We believe in designing dog training programs that help you accomplish YOUR goals for your dog, not ours.

We firmly believe in Dog Training for the Real World so that your dog can be as happy, goofy, loopy, silly, and zany when they want to be and obedient when you need them to be. Contact us today to schedule your free consultation and begin to enjoy living with your dog again.
