Hi all,
I come with bad news I’m so sorry.
I am currently without a sewing machine.
After 10yrs + of abuse from me my trusty machine finally died 😞
I’ve done all I can my end to get it going again but it’s had it and I don’t know when I’ll be able to either get it fixed or get a new one.
2 weekends ago I started to make the pods I wanted for the fundraiser & I ended up wasting 2 lots of mattress foam & material because of it jamming and then it seized.
Not the news I wanted to share with you all, but sadly nothing i can do about it 😞
I’ll keep you all posted when I have a better idea on when I’ll be back on track again.

Hi Everyone 😻
Sorry this is long but it’s important ☺️
Been a while since I did any sort of an update so I figured it was past time.
Sadly catpods is almost over.
I only have 10 rings left (for the single / non scratchpod) variations.
Hubby was bringing them home from work for me, but his work have stopped using them & now only use a larger heavy style that is only suitable for scratchpods.
We’ve tried to make the larger ones work but sadly they are too tall which invites vertical scratching & normal fabrics won’t survive that 😔
So with my last 10 single pods I want to mostly end the way that catpods was started - by fundraising.
At least 2 of these I need to sell to recover enough funds to buy sisal rope to start making scratchpods again. And another 2 are earmarked for Souls and Stars Sanctuary. 1 I’d also like to send to The Adventures of Grandpa Tripod to help 😻 that leaves 5 more that I need to work out who to fundraise for.
But, what I need from all of you is some input please.
1 - Would you prefer me to make all of the donations and create 1 auction album and then split the funds that way
2 - would you prefer I auction them off separately over a few weeks. As in 1 rescue a week till they’re all done.
3 - what other rescue is beyond desperate right now and could use a little extra help (sadly it won’t be loads, but it all helps right?)

I did think of doing a raffle but as I’m working now I just don’t have time for that sorry, even though they are more fun 🤩

4 - any special colour combos you’d hope to see made 1 last time?

5 - thanks for reading this far and for being so darn awesome to me over the last 6 or so years 😻

I don’t think I announced it publicly as yet, but mid last year I stepped down from the Cat Expo & Rescue for many many reasons, including after over a decade i was in desperate need of me time and to focus on a paid job.
Having said that, the previous expos were run by myself and Nat from 9 Lives Cat Rescue and that is who I have left the Cat Expo with.
It’s now being run by a team of people and I know it will only get bigger and better from now on.
Sadly I doubt I will have a stall there as hubby isn’t able to bring me home the rings i was using to make the catpods and the only ones he can get are very heavy and only suitable to make large scratchpods.
But, never say never… things may change.
Never the less, save the date as I know the next Cat Expo Perth will be a great one! 😻

😻😻 WE FINALLY HAVE A DATE!! 😻😻

We have finally been able to secure a venue for the Perth Cat Expo! 🐾

We had a number of issues finding a venue that was big enough and available on Sundays which was proving almost impossible.

As a result we have had to move the Expo to early next year but the result will be a bigger and better expo than ever before!!

So save the date for MARCH 2nd 2025 from 12 noon to 4pm at the SOUTH PERTH COMMUNITY CENTRE 💜💜💜

I’m back to work tomorrow after having a few weeks off (thanks so much chest infection from hell🙄), so I’m not sure when I’ll get more made next - I need to find a rhythm with my new work roster.

It’d been so long I almost forgot how to make them 🙀🙀
It’s nice to have a semi-permanent sewing desk set up again.
I’m not quite ready for being able take on orders again yet, but I hope to make a few CatPods on a weekly/fortnightly basis from now on.
Both are now SOLD.

Foster home urgently needed for TimTam & Milo 🏡

Do you have room in your heart and home to foster these two boys or possibly adopt them?

Due to a change in their foster carers circumstances we need to find these two boys a new home. They love each other dearly so will need to go together. TimTam is very timid and will need a foster carer who can bring out his inner snuggle bug. Whereas Milo (black & white) is more affectionate and likes to curl up on the bed. Both Milo and TimTam have lived with other cats and a small dog so will be comfortable in a multi-pet home. However, we feel that as they are shy an adult only home would be preferable for them.

As a foster carer we will provide you with everything you need to look after these two boys, including food and all of their medical expenses.

We have had to make the decision to not hold the Cat Expo this year as we are just too flat out with cat rescue due to the rental crisis and a bad kitten season 😿

BUT DON’T DESPAIR!!

We will be back early next year with all things cat! 😻

CAT DISASTER!!!

The shelters are full of cats. Some have stopped accepting surrenders.

Both small and large cat rescues are under so much pressure with less foster carers than ever and not enough adoptions.
Cat Haven WA are receiving 50-80 cats A DAY!

Please, if you have room in your home and you are able to foster or adopt - get in touch with GOSAC. I will help connect you with some great cat rescues who are doing amazing work trying to save lives.

Help us. The volunteers can only keep these cats alive with the help of the community stepping in.
