Hi all, just an update on KYCAL Kennels. Both Tracey and I are still current members in DogsNSW and remain as registered breeders. We currently have no breeding plans in the near future, but never rule it. Our 4 Dogues at the time was enough to manage with a litter of littles ones every now and then. But if your truely there for the litter and not the $$$$$$ with selling a pup, it is hard work. In the last 2 years, i had major spine surgery and no able to work. We then lost our beloved "Bella" 3 weeks after my surgery and our big boy Zeus in 2023. Tracey remains working and we still have both Ash (now retired as a breeder) and our first female bred pup Abby aka "Dumb Dumb". We have some plans for 2025 which rules out buying any pups for ourselves and the future after that will see what happens. For now, we would still love to see any of the followers who brought one of our pups to share a photo and give us an update on how they all turned out????

⚠️Warning, pig hunters in NSW ⚠️

Are you aware of the risk of brucellosis to yourself and your dog?

Feral pig hunting is the number one risk for catching brucellosis and infected dogs have recently been diagnosed in an expanding range across NSW.

Brucellosis is a bacterial disease that can be caught from infected animals through contact with blood, body fluids or tissues from an infected animal, OR through eating undercooked meat. It can cause severe, long lasting health problems and even death if not diagnosed and treated quickly.

If your dog becomes infected, it can also spread the bacteria to you and your family.

You can protect yourself and your family from brucellosis by following the following simple steps outlined in this NSW Health factsheet: https://brnw.ch/21wGwQS

Local Land Services NSW NSW DPI Hunting Sporting Shooters' Association of Australia - SSAA Inc Australian Pig Doggers and Hunters Association Australian Pork Australian Veterinary Association NSW Farmers NSW Police Force

Ehrlichiosis is a disease spread by the brown dog tick and can be fatal to dogs if not properly treated.

People cannot get Ehrlichiosis from infected dogs, but there are rare cases of people getting the disease from infected ticks.

Contact your veterinarian if you notice a dog with these symptoms: > enlarged lymph nodes
> loss of appetite
> discharge from the eyes and nose
> weight loss
> cloudy & sore eyes

The risk of spread is reduced if dogs are treated for the bacteria or have been protected through a tick prevention treatment.

It is with great sadness of our family today that we said goodbye to our "Zues". A much loved companion of our family for the last 8 yrs 4 days. He celebrated his 8th birthday on Monday, but his health declined fast in the last 2 weeks being diagonsed with an aggressive cancer. We will remember happier days, but he walked across doggie rainbow and now he rejoined "Bella" who we lost last year. R.I.P big boy

We still feed our dogues this food and have had no problems for our furry family. This puppy is known to us as it was our 1st breed male.

Big puppers require big munchies! ⬆️

Usually, puppies are cute and small and you want to keep them in your arms and hug them all day long 🌞 But some puppies are not as small and can’t fit in your arms, but they are still cute and you still want to hug them all day long! 🤗

Their big size should not make us forget that they are still little puppies with big hearts ❤️ and big needs that we should not neglect, or we may come back home to a couch that is missing a couple of bites here and there 😅

Other than an extra ⛰️ mountain of food, we need this food to be of top quality to support all of our fluffball’s activities and needs.

🟠 Puppy Large Breeds was created to cover EVERY need of our chonky puppers! With extra 🍗 Chicken, 🥩 Lamb, and 🐟 Sardines, it is the perfect blend to aid your doggo’s muscle and bone growth, turning them into even bigger, even stronger, even cutter fluffballs! 💪

And, of course, we did not forget to add A TON of 🫐fruits & vegetables, because when we say “for a healthy friend,” we mean it 💚

Sorry followers but aresholes like this dont deserve the right to continue to own animals. Do your research before buying a dog off someone like this

We shared Strawberry’s story in 2020. A vet report determined that she had dystocia, a condition considered to be a veterinary emergency, and she suffered for approximately 40 hours.

This means Strawberry had difficulty giving birth to her pups and some became stuck in the birth canal causing her pain, systemic illness and ultimately it killed her

Simply put - she rotted to death.

Her puppy farmers were given nothing but a small fine. They can still run their puppy factory.

We are still processing this pathetic sentence announced today. But for now, we just want to make two points - and ask you to help us get answers.

1. The puppy farmers who plead guilty to eighteen offences against the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Act are Michael Flanagan and Casey Poulet. The media might be protecting them today - but we won’t be.

2. We have contacted the CEO and Chief Inspector at RSPCA NSW multiple times today to seek clarification on this line in their statement:

“The pair agreed to orders sought by RSPCA NSW to reduce the size of the breeding establishment from 180 bi***es and 25 stud dogs to no more than 80 bi***es and 25 stud dogs.”

This wasn’t their first time before the court. They are recalcitrants. They will not learn.

We want to know if the RSPCA even bothered to seek a banning order on this pair?

The fact they can continue to have 105 breeding dogs, which means up to 200 factoring in puppies, is a disgrace. One litter of puppies will pay their measly fines.

Tomorrow night, we’re asking you to light a candle for Strawberry and post it with the hashtag .

The authorities might have failed her - but together, we can say we’re sorry, we tried and we will never stop fighting for the hundreds of dogs still languishing in that hell hole of a puppy factory.

Fines aren't good enough for people like this. Puppy farms should be illegal. What a joke and they shouldn't be allowed to own any animals.

A father and daughter duo responsible for operating one of the largest intensive companion animal breeding establishments in New South Wales have been sentenced for animal cruelty in Inverell Local Court on 2 May 2022.
