Bean will go into season again in about 6 months. We are thinking of breeding her for the second (and last) time then.

As many of you already know, we insist on having a full slate of adopters before breeding. We need to have 7 good homes already lined up— we won’t take a chance on puppies going to an unsuitable home. If we don’t get enough quality interest now, we’ll wait until 2025.

So, if you are interested in one of Bean’s puppies, let us know.

We don’t reserve by color, but we do reserve by s*x, so let us know whether you prefer a male or female. In case you are new to this site, Bean is a spectacular all purpose lab, with an amazing pedigree and an AKC hunt championship. Her puppies are mild mannered and beautiful. All our pups have now been delivered to their adopting families. Here's a final picture of a pup in his new home.

A request: we may do one last breeding in 2025 before we retire Blue Ridge Labradors. If we do, we will breed Bean to a different stud (but equal quality, rest assured). We need to know if you might be interested in a 2025 puppy from our wonderful Bean. If so, send us a message. There's no obligation at all, of course. We are proud of having a national market for our well-bred, health-cleared and perfectly socialized dual-purpose Labs, without incurring the costs of a permanent website. If we are to make this work one last time, we will need y'all's help.

Seven healthy and vigorous pups whelped. First one came out at 11:54 PM last night, last one at 3:53 AM this morning. All are well except for two sleep-deprived humans. Six blacks and one chocolate, by the way. Five males (4 black, 1 chocolate) and 2 black females.

Definitive x-ray taken today (day 61). SEVEN well-formed puppies. Hooray Bean! Any day now!! Bean's at 77 lbs (up from her usual 61) and we can't wait.

Ultrasound confirms! Puppies coming. Due date is Aug. 11-12. Xray for puppy count on July 31.

As of 6/7, we have four female and two male reservations on Bean's upcoming litter (she has just come into season, so whelping will be in August). It will combine the proven sire line through FC AFC Money Talks II with the very best of British trial lines behind HOF GMPR and many top working dogs. This is a long-term effort to bring the best bloodlines together in a classic looking companion ready for service animal work or retrieving. Trainability and intelligence with very good off switch. We take four reservations per s*x, so please get in very touch soon if there is interest. After whelping, you have the option of switching s*xes if there are more than four of one s*x whelped.

After a four-year hiatus, we have a BIG announcement. We will be breeding a litter here in South Carolina in 2023, and it will undoubtedly be our best and most sought-after litter ever.

Our female, Bean (Chilbrook Dark Mirage CGC JH) is the sweetest dog we have ever owned. At 61 lbs, she is frankly gorgeous. A grand-daughter of Chilbrook's world-famous Ranger, Bean is also a fantastic retriever, AKC hunt titled with ease and with a very strong service dog background. Debby Kay, her breeder in Harpers' Ferry, WV, felt that Bean's 2020 litter was the final culmination of her kennel's 50 years of very careful breeding.

Bean's dame is Macy and her sire is Ruler (CH Chilbrook Bold Ruler CGC), the only living son of Chilbrook's English Import, CH Majestic Saxton (“Ben”) whose famous Manymills bloodline was much sought after for their intelligence and working ability.

Bean will be bred to Sully (SHR Chilbrook Copper Chief RA SCN BCAT CGC TKP JH WC CC) (http://www.chilbrook.com/project/sully/). Please go to his web site and you, like us, will be enthralled. He is in our opinion one of the best studs in America.
