LCSO ARRESTS HEARTLESS, SUB-HUMAN ANIMAL ABUSER

“Molly,” a 16-year old Golden Labrador was delivered to a local animal hospital in a condition that made even experienced veterinary staff cringe.

Severely emaciated, Molly had maggots crawling out of her re**um and ge****ls.

Additionally, Molly was critically dehydrated, had glassy eyes, flea infestation and curled nails exceeding one-inch in length.

Molly was unable to focus, was unable to walk and her blood pressure was so low that it was unattainable.

It was determined that the canine was suffering immensely and would not survive more than a few more hours.

Lee County deputies arrived and interviewed the owner, Jonathan Urquizo, who refused to sign euthanasia authorization.

Urquizo made statements that conflicted with veterinary observations and the dog’s condition.

Molly was placed on a law enforcement hold and humanely euthanized. Her body was turned over to Lee County Domestic Animal Services for purposes of necropsy.

Based on information obtained, Jonathan Urquizo (DOB 01-16-1998) was arrested and charged with felony aggravated animal cruelty.

A second animal, a underweight female cat named "Ladybug," was subsequently removed from Urquizo's home...which was found to be virtually uninhabitable due to f***s and filth.

🚨 Spotting and Stopping Animal Cruelty🚨

Animal cruelty is any intentional harm, neglect, or abuse inflicted on animals. It's not just physical violence; it includes neglect, hoarding, and abandonment.

🔍 Signs to Look For:
- Unexplained injuries or scars
- Malnutrition or extreme thinness
- Unsanitary living conditions
- Fearful or aggressive behavior
- Visible signs of neglect (matted fur, overgrown nails)

🐾 Why It Matters:
Every animal deserves a life free from suffering. Combating cruelty ensures they live safely and happily. It also helps build a more compassionate society and can prevent violent behavior in humans.

📞 How to Report:
- Contact your local animal control or humane society
- Call your local law enforcement agency
- Use online reporting tools from organizations like the ASPCA or The Humane Society

Speak up for those who can't! Together, we can make a difference. 🐶🐱🐰

THIS LAW SHOULD BE STATE WIDE.
07/06/2024

THIS LAW SHOULD BE STATE WIDE.

"Effective immediately, it is now unlawful in Collier County [FL] to sell or pass ownership of an animal to a known animal abuser.

"The Collier County Board of County Commissioners voted unanimously... to join forces with Lee County and utilize a database of all animal abusers.

"All breeders, pet stores, rescue groups — essentially anyone selling a pet, must make all efforts possible to ensure the prospective buyer is not listed on a the dual-county animal abuse registry list.

"Similar to a s*x offenders’ list, those convicted of animal abuse must now register with the Collier County Sheriff’s Office each year.

"The list isn’t just for the convicted, but will also contain people that a civil court judge declared unfit to care for animals": https://bit.ly/4c4fprr.

Without a registry, there is no means of ensuring that animals are not placed with convicted animal abusers. By knowing the right lies to tell and which truths to omit, convicted animal abusers can potentially acquire animals from shelters, pet stores, breeders and others. This law will strip abusers of this advantage with nothing more than a few strokes of a keyboard.

The No Kill Advocacy Center’s “Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Act” is model legislation to create an animal abuser registry: nokilladvocacycenter.org/the-toolkit/the-prevention-of-cruelty-to-animals-act

THEY GOT HIM !!!!!!!!

**UPDATE: Matthew Keel has been located and arrested in Ohio. Thank you for sharing!

___________________________________________________

Do you know where Matthew Wayne Keel is? If so, it's time to speak up and turn him in! Matthew is wanted on a felony warrant for 23 counts of Aggravated Animal Cruelty and 19 counts of Animal Cruelty.

On Feb. 1, 2024, a disturbing scene was uncovered at a home in the 5700 block of NW 6th Street. Marion County Sheriff’s Office (MCSO) and Marion County Animal Services found 53 dogs living in deplorable conditions, with one dog found deceased and others in dire need of medical attention. Deceased dogs were even discovered in the freezer. MCSO Agricultural Detective Burgess was able to obtain a warrant for Keel’s arrest, but we have been unable to locate him as it is possible he has left the state.

These innocent animals deserve justice, and Keel needs to be held accountable for his actions. If you have any information on his whereabouts, please call MCSO at 352-732-9111. You can also provide anonymous tips to Crime Stoppers of Marion County at 352-368-STOP, referencing 24-12 in your tip.

This is why we need a STATE WIDE ANIMAL ABUSER DATABASE.

Many other animals in the home were emaciated and uncared for, deputies say.
