We always have fun on a training day, even if indoors cause of the constant rain

So very recently we had the honour of conducting a 4 part training system over 6 months with an international SF K9 unit. These guys were amazing in their knowledge and conduct.

So to get where they are it's a long sacrificing road. First they must become an SF, after being SF for 5 years they can apply to join the special activities K9 unit. If they make a 6 month probation agreement they must donate every spare minute they have outside their normal duties and training to maintain the Kennels and learn from the kennel hands how to maintain a K9.

If the kennel manager gives them a favourable yes they then join the unit as a team spotter. They work with a current active handler for 12 months learning different deployments, K9 health, 14 day decoy school, training theories etc. 18months (they still haven't touched a K9) has gone past. If the handler they are assigned to signs off on them, they go into a 14week handler school with their assigned K9 partner. Once they pass they are a SF K9 Handler.

It was impressive to see and understand. By the time they are handlers there is no ego or arrogance, just a want to be better and just a team who would die for each other.

the Tactix K9 asia branch has successfully conducted a 5 week handlers course at CMAC in Cambodia, with 12 students earning the "Wolves" tab. Well done to all. Now with 76 students earning the coverted tab.

We are very humbled with a message we recieved from a handler today. Our M3 stab/slash proof K9 Tactical vest stopped 3 attempts by an inmate to stab a corrections dog with a sharpened tooth brush. This is why we intensly test and test before we produce our K9 equipement.

We also send our thoughts to K9 Jen!!!!
