Owning and breeding afghan hounds for conformation, coursing, and hunting! We are Eddie and Selma Kominek of Kominek Afghan Hounds. Welcome to our page!

We adore the Afghan Hound breed and strive to show and breed beautiful examples of the breed who can still perform well on the field. Conformation, soundness, temperament are integral to our breeding philosophy, as is strong prey drive, speed, and athleticism. The Afghan hound should be an able coursing hound, and we feel that to preserve our breed's athleticism, a breeder needs to actively breed

for performance, not just hope for it in their conformation dogs. We have bred multiple nationally ranked coursing dogs, including multiple Best in Field winners, National Specialty Best in Event winners, Breed at multiple II's and National Lure Coursing Championship Best of Breed and Breed Finalists. Our lines incorporate conformation, racing, hunting, lure coursing and country of origin descended stock. We welcome questions or inquiries about our amazing breed. Once you have been owned by an Afghan, nothing else will do! Current Clubs:

Juju running off for Best in Field against the pharaoh hound, Tango. The second course had a whippet and an ibizan. She ended up winning on Sunday! Congrats to her owner, Billy Brady!
