Tonight, we are featuring our sweet and fun-loving Waffles!

Waffles is thriving in his foster home while waiting for a forever home and his new best friend! He loves following his foster mom around the house- he is never far and always wants to be part of the action 🙌. At bedtime, he curls up lovingly and sleeps with you throughout the night 🥰. During the day he loves his bones 🦴 (and peanut butter!), running around in the backyard, fetching any and all of his squeaky toys 🧸, and sniffing all the good smells on a nice long walk.

Waffles is house trained and while strong, he does very well on the leash (non-reactive to other dogs). He gets along well with all dogs and people, including children. He greets everyone with lots of attention and energy, a wagging tail, and kisses! He is a smart pup who is very trainable 🐶🐾

At only 12-18 months old, Waffles is still a young boy and has lots of energy, so will do best in a home where he can have at least 1 or 2 solid walks per day and/or time in a fully fenced and secured backyard to run around. He is very playful and always loves when humans engage by throwing his toys around with him. 🥹💙

Waffles is all-around a wonderful dog who is so deserving of a home to call his own, especially after such a rough start to life. Please spread the word and if you are interested, please reach out today! 🙏

Attention Little Dog People!

We have two womderful little dogs waiting patiently for their forever home.

Mitzi and Pee-wee are the best of friends, and although they have fun playing together, they will be much happier in their own forever home.

We at Forgotten Friends of Long Island owe a great deal of gratitude to a womderful woman named Sharon who made us rhe most beautiful blankets for our dogs and cats.

These blankets are goegeous and unique and such a warm and pretty addition to their beds.

Sharon has a hesrt of gold and makes these gorgeous blankets not only for dogs and cats but for rabbits and squirrels in rehab.

Thank you so much Sharon for all you do for these wonderful animals. We appreciate your kindness!!!

Update: Unfortunately, due to unforeseen circumstances we have to cancel the Sing A-long Bingo Event. We are very disappointed to have to do this and very sorry for the inconvenience.

Home for the holidays?

Our biggest Christmas wish this year is for our precious remaining 'Parking Lot Kittens', Glinda and Sydney, to be adopted and with their forever family/families for the holidays! 🐈‍⬛🙏🐈‍⬛

Glinda and Sydney are about 6 months old and fully vetted. ✅

Miss Glinda is bonding with her sister Sydney, playing with toys, and overall just learning how to be a carefree kitten! Quite a change from the streets. 🫶🐈‍⬛

We are anxious to share our special Thanksgiving post with all of our wonderful supporters.

Many of you know that Mandy, our sweet girl has been with us for about five months. Mandy was taken away from an abusive owner and has the after effects of the abuse. Mandy is fearful of meeting new people, and she needs time to trust.

But our prayers have been answered and a wonderful family of four came to meet her and immediately fell in love. Although cautious, Mandy had a big smile on her face from the moment she met them. They have taken everything slow, and she has relaxed and is blossoming under their loving care.

Mandy has been in her new home for one week and everything is going well. I don't think there's a family that could love her more and I don't think she could be happier anywhere.

These are the happy endings that keep us all going. Thank you all for your support and best wishes for Mandy and her amazing new family. Let's welcome Mandy to her new home and let's not forget the wonderful adopters who opened their home and heart to her. They understand her need to go slow and are more than willing to give her the time she needs. We know they always will, and we know Mandy is no longer waiting for a special family. She found them and they found her.

Welcome home and thank you so much adopters. You are amazing people and we have so much respect for you. Thank you.
