Merry Christmas from my crew to yours! 🎄❄️🎁
Violet and Blue 💜💙 With home renovations comes lots of contractors & deliveries. These two started by bolting out the door and charging guests, but have learned to calmly wait for permission to go out the door. The sit is automatic so that they sit even if contractors or company don't tell them to! @rosemarylunderwood give these two huge hugs for me!!
This video was 6 years ago when we were teaching Arlee how to behave around horses, mainly for everyone's safety. Everyone has influence on their dog, training just makes it stronger. Impulse control doesn't just make your dog easier to enjoy, but it also keeps them safe. I was so happy to rewatch these videos today!

"This has never ever happened in the history of any dog I've ever owned."
Remember Oakley and Oliver? Today was our last session roughly a month since I’ve seen them. We had our final session on a patio at the Avalon. A countless number of people and dogs passed us by and these two were an absolute dream. Training makes their world bigger and I love to see them leaving the house!
Look at this good boy!! Leo's owners were desperate for help containing Leo's excitement and energy level, especially with company. Teaching him to lay on his bed will allow company to enjoy him and he won’t have to be put away in a different room every time someone comes over. So proud of this big guy!
I adore bully breeds and that includes my new student, LEO (Staffy, American Bull Dog, Boxer mix)!! Leo has a very hyperactive personality with a huge head and very muscular body. That combination can be very challenging and disruptive with a big guy like Leo! Today was all about impulse control and in this video, he was trying his best to stay on his bed. It almost looks like he could fly away with that tail! 😂
Wow! Check out that Come command!! Obi is a 7 year old Golden Doodle that was having a difficult time adjusting to the apartment lifestyle. Often times, when dogs feel anxious, they show it through behaviors that can be dominant or even aggressive. By teaching Obi the Come command, we won’t have to worry about him chasing a passing neighbor, going after dogs, or even escaping the building. Many people don’t think they need the come in command as they believe their dog will always be on a leash. However, this is a nonnegotiable in our programs. We want our dogs to be safe and reliable!
Had an AMAZING last session with Duke at @batteryatl @truistpark ! We walked by strangers (he’s a celebrity), pet by a field trip of kids, and played in the fountains. Last sessions are always fun and easy. I’m going to miss this little guy!
Let's talk about RECALL! Coming when called is a non-negotiable in our training. It doesn't matter what program, breed, or temperament, every dog we train will finish training knowing how to come when called. The difference between "come" and "heel" is really a matter of position. Come to me and sit anywhere VS come and sit at my heel. Will your dog come the first time you call it? What if they're distracted? To my past or current clients... Send me videos of your dog's recall! 😁😁
Featuring: Biscuit, 4 months, Golden Doodle

I am so proud of little Spanky! In just over a week he is walking at my heel on and off leash, staying on his bed for long periods of time, sitting when doors open, and has made major improvements with potty training and crate training. This little 3lb. boy is a dream! His happy little tail 😍😍
Stella had to take a few weeks off of training, but we're back and she hasn't forgotten a thing! Stella is enrolled in our In-Home Intensive program. In our Intensive programs, the trainer comes in and does all of the training in a short period of time. This program is usually done in 3 weeks vs our normal In-Home which is about 8 weeks. Although we are teaching the pups the training, there is still lots of homework for the owners. We already know the pups will listen to the trainers, which is why we give the owners homework when we leave. Our job isn't done unless the pups listen to their owners the way they listen to us!
Look at them go!! Izzie and Roxie both learned how to walk at the heel individually, which means it's time to try it together. Roxie has learned so much in such a short period of time. Our intensive program goes by quick, but there's lots of material for them to learn! It made me proud seeing them walk so beautifully together! 😍
Many people see barking dogs and turn around to walk the other way. However, the only way to make training a functional is to practice near those distractions. Charley has come such a long way in this program. He was afraid to leave the driveway, skittish with noises, and pulling to go back home. With structure and leader ship, he now finds the heel to be the safe place, and can walk with minimal stress. This was a big distraction for the little guy so I was very proud of him!
Imagine you are walking your dog and you pass a fenced in yard where another dog is aggressively, barking and charging the fence. How would your dog respond?
Winnie is barely at the halfway point of our program and hasn’t even left the heel. When we first passed this fence, her owner was scared and very reluctant to even walk by, in fear she would lose control of Winnie. In this moment, Winnie needs a confident leader! Having a leader in place eliminates fear and builds trust. With a leader, Winnie has no reason to bark, pull, or feel fearful. I love this so much, nice job Stefanie and Winnie!! 👏🏼👏🏼
We had a wonderful session at the park today with Dallas. Dallas is a 4 month old Golden Doodle, who’s half way through training. Today was our 1st day at a park, where we reinforced our obedience training "off leash." Off leash training is not designed for your dog to walk off leash, but to ensure that your dog will still be obedient without a leash in hand. Dallas has been a pleasure to train, and so have his owners, Allison and David. With a baby, on the way, we had to get this doodle puppy into shape and we are all so pleased! 👏🏼👏🏼

Did you know that you can start professionally training your puppy the day it comes home? You’re already doing training with not eating things, potty training, and basic manners. The training foundation you lay with your puppies will determine what challenges you will be facing or NOT facing as adults. It is much easier to prevent bad habits than it is to erase them. Go to https://www.happydogsatl.com/ to schedule a free evaluation for your pup today. Time is of the essence!
