Meet this week's foster spotlight, Patience, from Tender Loving Crested Rescue! Patience is a lively young female dog bursting with energy and love to give. She's affectionate, playful, and endlessly curious, always eager to explore her surroundings. Patience adores sharing kisses with everyone who shows her attention and gets along well with other dogs. She's made significant progress in her potty training, learning to go outside and using a potty pad indoors as needed.

Tender Loving Crested Rescue and Sisters Of The Traveling Vests are teaming up to help a family spay/neuter their current dogs. This family has surrendered all but 2 dogs to TLCR. We’ve agreed to pay for full vetting for the two remaining dogs to ensure there is no more unnecessary breeding.

We need your help! We’re raffling this beautiful Pandora bracelet with three charms; two of them are limited edition Disney Beauty and the Beast charms donated by Chinese Crested Rescue And Adoption Group ‘s Sherri.
There are 30 spots available. Each spot is $20. This will help us raise $600 of the $1000 needed for their vet bill.

Pinky's Happy Update:
It's been 2 weeks since we were reunited with Pinky. She escaped after the bad storm that hit the Houston area. We were so fortunate to get her back! We immediately had her spayed, not risking any pregnancies after her time away from us!

A family that has adopted several dogs from us reached out about adopting Pinky. I knew this was the perfect home for her! They adore their dogs and will provide the best care for Pinky. I spent some time with them over the weekend. Pinky made herself right at home with her new mom, dad, and sister Callie who was adopted from us in 2015.

We're all thrilled that Pinky's story has a happy ending. Thank you again for everyone that supported us during one of the most difficult times in the history of this rescue.

PINKY WAS FOUND SAFE AND SOUND!!!

We were tagged and started receiving messages earlier this evening that a dog matching Pinky's description was posted on NextDoor. After reviewing the picture posted, we were positive it was Pinky. We waited for the finder to contact us until we just couldn't wait any longer. We jumped in the car and was in their neighborhood when they reached out.

The family that found her took her to be groomed today. She was matted and had fleas but overall she's in good shape. They said that Pinky walked into their garage, then walked into the house and jumped on their couch! She picked the right family to help save her! We're so grateful for their help.

I believe that someone was caring for her for the past two weeks until she slipped out again, possibly afraid of the storms we've been having this week. We will definitely be monitoring her during the storms that are coming over the next few days.

Pinky is wearing a collar with a name tag and an AirTag. She will be chipped ASAP. We are reviewing our intake policies and considering chipping on intake instead of waiting for the initial vet consult. There were extenuating circumstances with the wind storm that caused the loose fence picket, power being out, etc but we are looking for opportunities to improve our intake process and general foster policies.

HELP US FIND PINKY!!

The storm that hit the Houston area last week knocked a fence board loose and Pinky slipped through it. Pinky is new to the rescue and the Houston area. She is skittish and afraid. We've had a few sightings but she runs from anyone that approaches her. Please do not attempt to catch her! Call or text 832-452-4630. We have volunteers in the area looking for her.

We are absolutely heartbroken! Please help us find Pinky.

Steps we have taken to find Pinky:
- posted 300+ flyers throughout surrounding neighborhoods and businesses and are doing more
- posted on NextDoor, Facebook, Instagram, PetcoLove and Ring
- paid placement on Pawboost, LostMyDoggie, and Pet Radar
- called/emailed/visited local vet offices
- called/emailed local shelters
- called/emailed large rescues in the area

We have been driving around the neighborhood streets and up and down the beltway. We're stopping and talking to literally anyone we come across. The power outages and storm debris are complicating our search efforts.

When we got the 23 dogs on New Year's Day, we knew that they were keeping a momma dog and 5 puppies. Several weeks later, we got the call asking us to go back and get them. And of course we did! Meet Daphne and her gorgeous family!

Daphne - 1 or 2 year old powder puff
Doratia - (very) hairy hairless female
Elena - powder puff female
Gigi - powder puff female
Giovanna - powder puff female
Niccolo - powder puff male

The puppies were 8 weeks old when these pictures were taken. They're around 10 weeks old now. They can't be spayed/neutered until they are 16 weeks old. We are accepting applications on them now! If you're local to the Houston area, we will consider letting you foster to adopt.

Daphne has completed her motherly duties for her last liter ever! She will be spayed next week and will be able to join her new family shortly after. Is that family yours??

Lulu's DNA results:
Yorkie, Chihuahua, Shih Tzu, Bichon Frise and Cocker Spaniel

I don't see any of those breeds in her! Her body structure and looks are still developing so maybe one day she'll look more Yorkie or Chihuahua.

Doesn't matter what her DNA is, she is stinking cute! She's a fun little dog with a great temperament. She's being raised by her Crested foster siblings so she's a cuddle bug when she's not playing!

LuLu will be available for adoption after her spay surgery next month.

Thought we’d share an update on Baby Lulu. She was born via c-section back in October. She will be 3 months old on the 20th! While Lulu isn’t a Chinese Crested, she is absolutely adorable! Lulu will be available for adoption after her spay surgery next month.

***Please help us get these guys ready to get to furrever homes***

We know that everyone is excited about the new dogs. We've shared some pictures below. We are doing our best to get them in amazing foster homes so that we can get them fixed and vetted. We know that everyone is just as excited as we are, and we are trying to answer messages from every avenue. Our Director still has many of them in her home trying to coordinate them and can see applications coming in but right now needs to focus on the dogs. So many appointments to set up and to say these dogs are stunning is an understatement. They do all seem to be healthy and an amazing example of the breed, but we will ensure that with our vetting, and loving foster homes to assess. Also they were all living together in a very amazing couples home (that kept them from going to a shelter) and they are in need of much grooming as this was way too many for them to take on. What we need more than anything right now is your financial support as it will not be a small amount to get these guys altered and vaccinated.

23 Chinese Cresteds are making their way to Houston. These dogs are beautiful!

When we get them here we will post some pictures. There are powder puffs and hairless. They are all young. We believe the oldest is about three years old and the youngest around six months old.

Luna and baby Lulu are doing great! Lulu is three weeks old now. She's a little wobbly when she walks but she's getting around really well. She has even started to use potty pads!

Luna and Lulu are doing well! Luna is an excellent mother. She is very protective of her baby. Lulu is a voracious eater so it's probably a good thing that she's the only puppy. She is getting more active and army crawls around her enclosure often. She is never far from her momma though.

Answers to some of the questions we've gotten:

Did you name the baby that passed away?
Yes, we named her Lula

Why did Luna have such big babies?
Lulu and Lula were actually average sized babies for a small breed. They looked large on the xrays because because Luna is a very small dog. She currently weighs 6 pounds with milk. She has a very petite build.

Will Luna and Lulu be available for adoption?
Luna already has an adopter. If that falls through, someone from our list of approved adopters will likely be interested.
Lulu will be available after she is spayed around 4 months old.

Bachelor # 1, you ARE the FATHER!!!
We actually think that Bachelor #2 could be related to Luna, her father maybe? He is a senior male and is smaller, more built like Luna.

Luna and her baby, Lulu, are doing well. Lulu eats on a regular schedule and has a fat little belly. Luna is very protective of her baby and is doing a good job of caring for her.

Well we didn’t take sweet Luna on Maury Povich but we did get some leads. These are two of the males that were confiscated with her in the seizure. One of these are likely baby’s daddy. Who do you vote for bachelor #1? Or bachelor #2?

Yesterday we posted that our newest intake, Luna, was pregnant with 2 large babies. We were concerned that she would not be able to deliver them naturally. That was confirmed by our vet who delivered the puppies via c-section.

Luna had 2 female puppies but unfortunately one was not viable and passed shortly after being delivered. We suspect that she didn't get enough nutrients which caused congenital defects. The other puppy is the bigger of the two, and let me tell you, she is BIG and has hair/fur. We don't know what she is mixed with. Luna was removed from a hoarding situation with 17 other dogs.

We are so grateful to our amazing vet and his staff at Texas Republic Veterinary Hospital! Dr B came in on his day off to help our little Luna.

We have added the puppy items to the wishlist. We will need the milk, bottles, heating pad, supplements, and lots of potty pads the most.
Jen just left vet again. C section scheduled for the morning. Their heads are so big. X-ray was evident they can’t pass through birth canal. We just need labor to not start tonight. Picture of today X-ray in comments.
