Poppy continues her journey to being a happy, healthy dog! She loves to crash on the couch after a good case of the zoomies. She has learned to potty outside off the leash, give kisses, plays with the other dogs and sleep on the bed. LOL. She still is shy and nervous around unknown people but is becoming braver every day! Patience, consistent routines, and love are all making the difference. WE LOVE POPPY!

Our Story

Welcome to the Humane Society of Caroline County, Virginia. We are a 501(c)3 non-profit voluntary organization dedicated to the humane treatment and improving the welfare of animals. We exist soley by the donations of time, money and adoption fees. We do not receive federal, state or local tax dollars.

Our mission is to create awareness and educate the community on the importance of humane animal care and responsibility. We do not have a physical shelter but help to find foster homes and solutions to abandoned pets as well as assist in low cost spay and neuter alternatives for people who can’t afford to have the proceedures done.
