Sometimes no matter how hard you pray, God just wants them more. I prayed for a Christmas Miracle for our Sweet Hilo but I didn't get one~~but Hilo got his~to spend Christmas in Heaven. Rescue is heartbreaking and wonderful tied up in one breath. We save the forgotten ones and lose the precious lives in our care. Hilo was a Sanctuary baby. He came to Open Heart from Georgia (Bite case) He made it known that only a couple of people would be able to befriend him. Only one volunteer would be able to approach him and finally love him beside myself. His life was not in a family home with children and fluffy adventures but he was loved beyond measure at our rescue. He was getting older, arthritis was slipping in and his pace was slower but he always was excited to see Mandy, his "person". My heart is broken in pieces but I know the angels are giving him lots of gentle strokes on his big belly and throwing a ball for him to chase. Rest easy big fellow, bark at the moon, chase the clouds and know that we miss you terribly. With forever love, Cheryl

Received this urgent plea. Please share , my rescue is full ( still trying to place my rescues) I can not add any additional intakes. Theses dogs deserve help💔

Hi there, I’m the President at Smith County Humane. We have 3 HW+ dogs that were rescued from a house fire, that urgently need a rescue placement. We don’t have a shelter and no where to hold them while they undergo their Hw treatment. Even if we can find a rescue to just take one, it would be a huge help. We can give financial subsidy to pay for the HW treatment, if needed, and have done as much vetting as we can, we just have no where to hold! They are great dogs and really deserve a chance, and have already lost so much, would you guys be able to help with even one? Or would you know of anyone right now who might could? We are desperately trying to find help for these! 2 are stage 2 and one is stage 3. They have already been on doxy and ProHeart and are about to begin their injections. Any help would be beyond appreciated.

We are so sad to hear from an adopter that sweet Cory has gained his wings. A wonderful couple from Out of state drove all the way down to adopt Cory in 2017. I was so appreciative because Cory was not an easy dog to get along with. I thought he would be a sanctuary dog but he warmed up to this wonderful family and had an amazing life. Run Free precious boy

Our sweet Brave gained his angel wings today. His wonderful adopter mom just sent me the sad news. Thankfully he knew a loving home in the last year of his life. Brave was a precious gentleman and our hearts are heavy 💔💔💔. You are free my sweet boy. Run, Bark and chase the stars.
