Page for Former Commissioner Roger Wolfson After six years as a volunteer Commissioner, I’ve taken a position outside city government.

It’s been in the works since 2019, and things have recently solidified. The city has accepted my departure and will have a new commissioner soon.

Please join Mike Farrell (MASH) Sarah Timberman (Fleishman is in Trouble, Masters of S*x) Ed Redlich (The Practice, Without a Trace), Katherine Moore and I for a special event at Sara and Ed's house on Saturday, September 28th.

Most people who know me know that one of my closest friends - Franky Carrillo - was imprisoned for twenty years for a crime he didn't commit.

From 16 to 36, he was behind bars. His father - the one witness who defended him, but couldn't succeed because his English wasn't strong enough - died of a broken heart while Franky was in prison.

The entire time, Franky's own private investigator knew who the real killer was, and held on to a confession letter, signed by the killer, without letting Franky know that letter existed.

Franky is now the leading candidate to be the next CA Assemblyman from the 52nd district. When elected, he'll be the first exoneree in elected office in American history.

This is an incredible opportunity not just for my neighbors on the East Side - to be represented by Franky - but for the United States of America.

Please join us. If you can't afford a ticket, reach out to me privately and I will find room for you. Everyone should come to this. It will be amazing.

Please join Co-hosts Mike Farrell, Katherine Moore, Sarah Timberman & Ed Redlich, and Roger Wolfson for an evening fundraiser benefiting Franky Carrillo's campaign for Assembly District 52 at the home of Sarah & Ed.

The president’s stable of big donors, corralled in part by the movie mogul Jeffrey Katzenberg, has been devastated since his debate, with many closing their wallets.

In this day of frustrating political news - if you need a smile so broad that it will turn into truly happy tears, please watch about ten minutes of the incredibly documentary called “In Restless Dreams: The Music of Paul Simon.” Go to Amazon Prime, pull up episode two, and watch from 1:25:31 - 1:36:18. Trust me. :)

I watched it this morning and I wept the happiest tears I’ve felt from any form of entertainment in years. You’ll see what I mean. It’s what life, music, international relations, Jewish-Black relations, live performance - and sheer magical artistic majesty is all about. You will be delighted.

Hurry. It's only on Prime for another day and a half.

In Restless Dreams is the definitive musical biography of Paul Simon, one of the greatest songwriters (and performers) in the history of rock 'n roll.

This. The NBA Finals MVP credits being Vegan for his growth and success. It's not a sacrifice to go vegan - it's a benefit.

Jaylen Brown is riding high and rightfully so. He led the Celtics to Banner No. 18, earning both East Finals MVP and NBA Finals MVP in the process. So while Brown missed out on an All-NBA team despite a stellar season, he’ll likely take the alternative as he gets his ring size checked after the ti...

This is a man who cares. About his family, his country, and morality. This man is a great President, he has turned the economy around, gotten us out of the pandemic, and stood up for all of us - even Republicans. He's doing a beautiful job in a very complex position, despite relentless propaganda from Fox, Social Media, and now the pro-Hamas contingent (who seem to prefer Trump??).

I am thrilled that he's my President and will be enthusiastically working to help his re-election. I'm a proud supporter of this man, and the country that he represents and will help save.

Joe Lieberman was my first best friends' dad. My mom's law partner. My carpool driver to elementary school. My first campaign boss (me and Matt handed out fliers during his first State Senate campaign, my first legal boss (Lieberman, Segelof, and Wolfson), and my first political boss (US Senate Governmental Affairs Committee).

He had a profound impact on my life. He was like a father to me, many, many times. I last connected to him on his birthday last month, and still cherish his last words to me.

He was, many times, more conservative than I hoped. But he was one of the last truly bipartisan politicians in American history. His loss in 2000, which would have made him the first Jewish Vice President and likely and eventually the first Jewish Presidential Nominee, was tragic and helped bend the path of my life away from politics.

But I never saw him angry. I never saw him less than thoughtful and respectful. Even when I disagreed with him, I never saw him be unkind. He raised four amazing kids. Matt and Becca are two the funniest, smartest people I know, and still dear friends to this day. My heart goes out to Haddassa, and Betty, and so many members of his huge and loving family.

He was often around when I was a child - he was my jogging partner. He was friendly and happy. He was ticklish. He was wonderful. And he was always there if I needed him.

I will miss him terribly. Tomorrow I'll fly to CT to be there for his funeral in Stamford. I hope to see many old friends there, and family. If you'll be around, please let me know.

Thank you for your love and support and guidance and for your example, Joe. With thanks, pride, and every best wish to you, too --

Steve Wise, the first Animal law professor in the US, the founder of the Nonhuman Rights Project (along with Jane Goodall), perhaps the greatest legal advocate animals have ever known - has passed away.

He was my boss for four years. He was my friend for life. And he was my inspiration forever.

He changed the world, and set us on a path to save the world. Thanks to him, I and so many others share his beautiful vision - that intelligent, autonomous animals (like Whales, Dolphins, Apes, and Elephants) be considered people in the eyes of the law - just like corporations.

Take part in remembering Steven M. Wise. Read his obituary, share your own memories, and learn about any funeral details on Ever Loved.

MLK's final speech makes it perfectly clear that he KNEW there were credible threats against his life. That he knew the likelihood that he might be killed tomorrow. Perhaps the most crushing use of the word "but" that has ever been spoken was when MLK said: "Like anybody, I would like to live a long life. Longevity has its place. But..." He should never have had to use that word, "But."

That he could face his impending death with such dignity, power, commitment, and love - that he could offer this as his final public words - is almost beyond comprehension.

That there ever was a man of this caliber. Of such inspirational spirit. Of such dedication and devotion. There must be hope for humanity, that there ever was a Martin Luther King, Jr.

Martin Luther King was assassinated 50 years ago. This is the powerful, prophetic speech he made to a packed church in Memphis, Tennessee, on 3 April 1968, j...
