The largest King Cobra I’ve ever caught, on one of our expeditions in Southern Thailand. It was ’s birthday, and he hadn’t spotted anything interesting all night. Right as we were about to give up for the night at the last location, he suddenly started SCREAMING “KING COBRA” through the radio and we dropped everything and started sprinting through the forest towards his cheers of excitement. The snake was curled up under a large boulder by a stream side. We knew it was big, but once I pulled it out we were absolutely blown away. One of my favorite herping moments to date. A lovely large Malayan Krait from Thailand’s Deep South. Like all kraits, these snakes are highly venomous and this species is potentially drop for drop the most potent terrestrial snake outside of Australia. They are very placid and usually do not bite unless treated harshly. They primarily feed on other snakes but may occasionally feed on other reptiles such as skinks too.

A strikingly beautiful juvenile female Wagler’s Pit Viper! As juveniles, the females have very similar coloration to males, and they only go through their extreme change in appearance as they mature. Males retain their juvenile colors into adulthood.

What a snake! This Red Headed Krait was one of the healthiest individuals I’ve ever seen. Also in absolutely immaculate condition without any scars or blemishes, fresh off the lot!

A gorgeous Himalayan Mountain Pit Viper .pixie spotted on a quick 5 day trip we just did to Northern Thailand! These cute little vipers aren’t overly rare in terms of population, but incredibly difficult to find thanks to their amazing camouflage and tendency to sit in one place motionless for sometimes weeks or even months at a time.

Lovely large Banded Krait from this evening, our main target species for today - found crossing the path right in front of us. Good times! And yes, before you ask, I did not give up on YouTube. The largest wild snake I’ve ever seen or caught, on our recent Thai Peninsula Expedition by . This big girl measured over 18ft (5.7m). She may not look this long, but in the wild Reticulated Python’s are much more slender than their counterparts in captivity - due to less regular meals and more physical movement. Almost all captive pythons are severely overweight, often leading to premature death. How cute is this? First juvenile Red Headed Krait I’ve ever found. This highly venomous species is incredibly docile, and as a general rule does not bite. Don’t replicate though 🤣⚠️
