Should i clip my horse in summer?
A lot of people think that clipping in summer is a bad idea.. however the most important thing is the horses welfare and comfort!
Some horses need it for conditions such as cushings, some need it for high work loads but alot of cases is just to make them more comfortable.
This little lady had a very thick coat so needed it removing to be comfortable in the heat, she definitely felt better after.
I still have spaces this month but also clipping season is not that far away! So get booked in to avoid disappointment

Well we managed it!
One thing ticked off the bucket list we got to the Yorkshire Show!
2 weeks ago we werent sure if we would make it as sparky had a minor setback with his leg but we managed it!!
To say he has not been off the yard for probably a year he was fresh (felt like a bomb ready to detonate!) but very well behaved bless him!

For every individual that wants to be an equine professional out there... Grab a broom. Understanding that both not every need of you is always being on top of a horse, and learning that there is no job beneath you, are crucial if you want to make it in this business.
For every kid that loves horses and is blessed to ride or take lessons, push a broom. It shows you are learning humility in this sport, and that you see past just taking a selfie with your horse or just posting your latest riding video on TikTok. Care for every aspect of the sport and needs around the barn shows more traits of a horsewoman than social media likes. Plus, it is a great way to build more muscle and be a better rider for your horse.
Showing love and pride in your sport, your horse, your facility, and your barn family looks like pushing a broom.

My thoughts and prayers for with Georgie Campbell’s family and friends as this upsetting time. Georgie sadly passed away at Bicton International Horse Trials in Devon on Sunday after a fall during the cross country phase.
My deepest sympathies for her family and friends.

Beautiful Carlow owned by Francesca had a re-clip today just to help keep her comfortable during work as she is naturally a hot horse (remember clipping is not just for winter its can be done whenever to keep your horse comfortable). To say I was originally warned that she was a bit twitchy she actually started falling asleep this time. #horse #horseclipping #freelancegroom

Beautiful Carlow after her clip yesterday. She was as looking a lil “scruffy”, so just needed a clip to help tidy her up and make her comfortable during the warm summer weather. Clipping isn’t just for winter!

Happy 18th birthday to Sparky! I feel so blessed to have such a horse like you. I can not say how happy it has made me watch you be a horse again. Heres to hopefully many more years ❤️
📣Update 📣 I accidentally posted it on my Personal and not here oopsie So unbelievably after 7 months Sparky is signed off from the vet and is allowed back in the field! This is an incredible achievement considering he is 18 next week and that there was virtually no check ligament on the first scan. He is already back in full work but can now go be a horse in the field and enjoy life and even start having the odd little jump. From here it is all about maintenance.
Well thats sparky fully handed over into Louises excellent care while we finally get to on our honeymoon for a few weeks!
