A huge shout out to the Pitchford’s. Couldn’t ask for better friends or neighbors. The sanctuary is truly blessed to have them in our lives. Melanie is always ready to help and Wayne always helps me fix things and correct things on the property. Their two daughters are just incredible people to have around. Thank you so much for this big box of goodies and the two large bags of dog food.

We are fortunate at the sanctuary to have dedicated supporters. Generous supporters from Suncoast Credit Union Riverdale purchased a standing rib roast for the sanctuary. It was my pleasure to cook and serve it to all the dogs. Below are the before pictures, the after pictures and the pictures when it was in their food bowls. They will actually get a second tasting of it tomorrow.

A huge round of applause to everyone who rolled out tonight to give Mr. Lucky Dog’s Sanctuary some serious love! Alyssa Lemay, you're the ultimate rockstar for just being your amazing self. My face is literally killing me from all the laughter and fun we had. Special thanks to the Sandbar and Grill for letting us crash their party. The food was insane, drinks were pouring in, and the wait staff and bar staff were pure perfection. Alyssa Lemay, Sandra Greiner, Shawn Gilmartin, Vicki Gilmartin and Diane DeWees Rollins thank you for all your help to make this event a success.
The biggest thank you goes to our anonymous donor who paid for everyone’s bingo pack this evening. Thank you is just not enough. ❤️🐾🐕

About a year ago, the sanctuary started taking care of Leo, (Leopole) and Louisa. We became financially responsible for their care. Their father was a coworker and a friend of mine and terminally ill. I wanted him to be able to keep the dogs with him as long as he could. They needed him as much as he needed them.
So anytime he went to the hospital the dogs would come here and stay for however long it took. Approximately five months ago, he ended all treatment and went on hospice care and moved home to Ohio to have his sister take care of him until the end. The dogs have been here permanently for the last five months. Out of respect for my friend I never posted anything about them as I didn’t want him to feel bad. He loved these dogs with all his life. He told me many times that it gave him great comfort that he knew his dogs would be taken care of properly until the end of their lives. Leo is 14 almost 15, and Louisa is 13 almost 14.
Yesterday morning, my friend passed away quietly in his sleep. May his memory be a blessing. May he rest in peace. John Ilse you were force to be reckoned with. Your sharp wit, and your love of shoes will live on forever. 💔😢

The pups are doing well and have adjusted to life in the sanctuary. They are truly a bonded pair. They’re a hoot to be around.❤️🐾

11 years ago I started making a turkey on Thanksgiving day for the dogs that were either mine or in my care at that time. I have continued to do it every year since. All the dogs ate well tonight and will continue to eat the turkey until all of it is gone. Happy Thanksgiving, I am grateful for all the dogs that I’ve been able to feed every day and show them that their lives matter and that someone cares for them.🦃❤️🐾🐕

Gina Day 1

Gina Day 1 First day at the sanctuary, first morning post op. Gina is much more awake, moving better, drinking, eating small amounts and just looking better. She had no issue with bodily functions!!!Yeah!!! We are taking it very slow and letting her decompress. Stay tune for mate updates.❤️🐕🐾

Please keep our girl Chloe in your thoughts, she is having difficulty breathing this morning. We are currently at Viscaya-Pardo getting ready to see Dr. McKelve.
