Our girl Annie needs extensive dental work done. Whoever had her either filed all her teeth down or let her chew on metal or such objects that it grounded her teeth down. At this point, it really doesn’t matter. She needs to get this work done so she’s not in any pain and we don’t have further problems down the line. She is seeing a specialist down in Bonita and what you see is the estimate on how much this is gonna cost the sanctuary. If you can find it in your heart, every dollar helps to pay her dental bills.

Update:
She slept through the night, thank goodness. I gave her some more carprofen this morning and she is doing great!!!  what these dogs can put you through!
Keep our girl Chloe in your thoughts, she has hurt her right front paw!! Hoping it calms down so she can find a place to lay down. We went to the ER vet, they were so busy after an hour we left. 😱 I will be able to see a vet in the office before I would be seen at the ER vet tonight. ❤️🐾🐕

Our boy Bosco had a recheck with Dr. Apking and his friends at Islandside Animal Hospital. Boscoe now weighs a whopping 77 lbs.😱 when he arrived here he weighed 52 lbs! He is filling out great, he’s a big strong boy. His HUGE sore on his leg is soooooo much better. Still and open sore but, much, much smaller so a new routine treatment plan is in place with chlorhexidine Solution for irrigating the wound 4 times a day then alter bacitracin and honey each twice a day. Dr. Apking cultured the wound to make sure no ugly bug was trying to grow in the sore. Pictures of the sores next week and we will take it from there.
Please keep our big guy in your thoughts so we can get this last sore all healed up. Oh Bosco may be sporting some t shirts to try and help him licking the sore when I am not looking!

Every 7 to 10 days you can find me pulverizing Chloe’s kibbles. With her Mega E we take the pulverized food (little less than 3/4 c) mix with hot water (6 ounces) to make a slurry. I add all her meds in wet food meatballs (1/4 can) She than gets fed in the standing up position either in a Bailey chair or standing on my thighs with her front paws. This is her feeding schedule twice a day.
To ensure she’s getting enough liquids, she gets watermelon chunks and ice cubes. Drinking plain water is where Chloe has her issues.

Annie is embarking on a journey of healing after her dental work today! We will be taking her to a specialist soon to extract four teeth. But don't worry, she's already showing signs of improvement after having a small meal this evening. We'll make sure to provide her with soft, soaked food for a speedy recovery. Keep our girl in your thoughts as we navigate this journey together!❤️🐕🐾

We urgently need more Foster Paw-rents to open their hearts and homes to our loving dogs. As a foster, our rescue will provide you with everything you need, including the dog's food, monthly preventatives, and covering all vet bills. Chloe's biopsy results revealed that she doesn't have cancer, but rather an uncommon infection that requires treatment with Clavamox for 30 days. Let's keep her in our thoughts as we monitor her breathing and congestion to ensure the medication's effectiveness.❤️🐾🐕

Chloe has returned home following a successful visit to the veterinarian. Her dental 🦷 procedure went well, and the tooth 🦷 that had caused concern was found to be non-problematic. However, she did experience some nasal congestion and excess mucus in her nasal cavity, which was addressed by Dr. Kerr through a biopsy of her nasal cavity and administration of a nasal lavage. Chloe has been cleared of any AP, and her lungs are clear. Your continued thoughts and prayers are appreciated as we await the biopsy results.

If it's not one thing, it's another with Jaxx! Took him in for his monthly injection, and of course, he wouldn't let me touch his ears. So, I asked the pros to clean them, only to discover he's been moonlighting as a fence-running, ear-wrestling champion. He collided with another pup, leaving a bit of blood, but that wasn't the best part. He had a hidden puncture wound that needed some TLC, so now he's sporting a trendy bonnet for two weeks. Who knew Jaxx was a fashion icon?😱❤️🐕🐾

During our playtime this morning, I took a photo of Annie that illustrates her developing personality and increasing comfort. Her next appointment is for staple removal, after which she will undergo a dental procedure and potentially visit a specialist to address the suboptimal state of her teeth, which were previously filed down. ❤️🐕🐾

Our female canine has been named Annie. It was crucial to give her a name to facilitate efficient communication with our veterinarian. Dr. Apking has described Annie as a sweet and charming dog. She recently received treatment for ear infections and we will be monitoring her progress closely. Baseline tests, including chest x-rays and blood work, have been conducted to ensure her continued health. ❤️🐾🐕

I’m thinking about changing Gina’s name. She does not respond to it so obviously that was not her long-term name. She is a super dog. She lived in a house you can tell she is crate trained, she has not had one accident in the house, but she is a Mal that’s for sure.
I was thinking about the name Mahogany, any other ideas? This is based truly on her coloring.
Tomorrow’s a big day for her we go see the vet. See if we’re able to remove her staples. Make sure she’s caught up on everything. And hopefully maybe we can get some idea of what kind of mass was removed. Stay tuned for more updates.❤️🐕🐾

Gina and I may not be photogenic, but we're working on our charm. She's getting comfy with me, and the pups are curious. Teeth filed or not, she loves a good nylon bone. She shows many Mal traits, teeth chattering when she gets excited. Stay tuned for our dog adventures!

Gina Day 1
First day at the sanctuary, first morning post op. Gina is much more awake, moving better, drinking, eating small amounts and just looking better.
She had no issue with bodily functions!!!Yeah!!!
We are taking it very slow and letting her decompress. Stay tune for mate updates.❤️🐕🐾
