📢IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT 📢

Well how the universe has CATAPULTED a spanner into my plans 🫠
I've been saying goodbye to horses, rejecting new bookings, staring at empty paddocks, getting ready to toddle off onto my next adventure until the new season...

And thennnnn my horse got her eye sandblasted in a dust storm, and now I'm home bound giving round the clock care for quite some time 🤦‍♀️

I said I was closing the gates temporarily due to the lack of quality feed around, and I was essentially resource guarding my current hay stack like a starved puppy.

My current hay stack (of beautiful Yarra Valley grass hay) could easily sustain 4/5 client horses + my herd with round the clock hay infront of them, but for the sake of my sanity I will stay open for business and only accept 2 ponies at a time in for training. Genuine ponies standing 14.2hh and under.
I'll go back to all sizes and regular capacity in due time.

Some new things to note -
Timestamped photos of your horses current condition (the week before coming in) is required before drop off. Front, side & back. If this offends you, blame the people who dropped off horses to me with body scores of 1.
Once bitten, twice shy.

Costs
$455 per week for weanling handling
$550 per week for breakers, handling for horses over 8 months old, bringing back into work etc.
$660 for problematic horses. Chronic bucking, rearing, bolting etc. Problem horses must come with a vet check and a phone number for me to call said vet for proof.

2 weeks non refundable is required upfront to secure your position in the calendar.

If you have recently reached out and were met with rejection- please feel free to get in contact if you are still interested at these updated prices.

What a rollercoaster - evidently the world wants me to be a horse trainer and only that 😆

For some reason my page has been popping off lately, with many messages per day from people enquiring or wanting to book for training.

Please note my books are closed for the foreseeable future due to lack of quality feed around in this drought. I appreciate those with genuine enquiries 🥰

I'm looking forward to taking a long break and returning new and improved, whenever that may be.
Some very big changes are incoming 😊

Last night I received the heartbreaking news that my dear friend Christine Scully had passed away.
Christine and I had a very long standing friendship spanning over many years.

She started off as my horses massage therapist, then became my massage therapist 🤣 at one point she was a sponsor for me when I was competing seriously, she was also my principal whilst I was studying ✍️ Christine wore many hats in my life, but the best hat of all was being my close friend.

I will always cherish her motherly nature, her raw, authentic attitude and her ability to light a fire under my ass when I needed a reality check 🔥
Christine was a loudly unapologetic advocate for horses and excellent welfare. She shaped my life with horses in a huge way.
I am devastated beyond belief to have lost someone I love so much, but geez I'm grateful I had the years I did with her by my side.

Love you always, Christine Scully 💖

Keyson Park kindergarten class is well underway with a few lovely weanlings in for some handling.
Baby Bonnie tests my patience daily, but has all the fire and pizazz to make an incredible mare in the future 😍

When I purchased this horse and loaded him in the float, he was sold again in 15 minutes to my best friend who was sitting in the passenger seat.
Fast forward a few years and I am regretting my choices letting this sexy man go😂

Good thing I've got his half brother (Dam side)
in my paddock!

A rather stark difference, April this year compared to April 2 years ago.
We have a few blades sprouting through after last weekend's rain which is welcome. Hopefully next year presents much greener 😊

Unfortunately I've come to the difficult, yet logical decision to close the doors to Keyson Park for a few months, effective from the end of June.

There are many factors which are leading to this, but the reality is that the economy sucks, the hay season sucks and the general horse population are struggling as a result.

I am not willing to join those in the struggle and I'd rather take a break and come back when the world is a bit easier for all, than try to push on and lose everything my husband and I have worked so hard for.

Keyson Park has been running for a strong 7 years now and I'm so proud of everything we've done.

Cancellations come faster than new bookings these days, and unfortunately a rise in unsound or seriously underweight horses having to be boomeranged home hasn't helped, either.

Return date to be confirmed, but looking to be around the late Spring, early summer.

PONY FOUND, THANKYOU EVERYBODY

✨️ On the search for a new pony ✨️

A very special little girl in my life is looking for her first pony.

That's right, I actually like this child, therefore this pony has got to be special.

Requirements are pretty loose, her mum and dad are open to pretty much anything if it's quiet.

✨️ Beginner friendly (leadline currently) A bit of spark is fine as long as it knows boundaries. Can be brushed and led by a tiny tot.

✨️ Age is open ended. Young or old welcome

✨️ Up to 14hh

✨️ Been out and about, seen the world a million times.

✨️ Enjoys human company

✨️ Open to interstate or site unseen if the evidence is openly available to see (abundant with videos & photos of the pony backing up your claims, and professional referees to vouch).

✨️ Please no metabolic, cushings or chronic founder cases.

✨️ Open to purchase or lease.

✨️ Please no fence houdinis.

Aunty Jess will be in tow to check out and ride these ponies so don't bother trying to palm off your little ratbag to an unsuspecting family.

Horsey home, plenty of hay in the shed awaiting and a very kind little girl who wants a pony to love.
We aren't looking for the next grand nationals winning pony, we want ol' Pickles who has taken 50 kids through pony club and has seen the farrier more times than we've had hot dinners.

PM me directly or call if you have something to suit.

Never in my life have I put more "walking only" rides on a horse before.

Nearly 2 years of on and off, slow training is starting to finally glimmer through 🥹

Maturity looks good on you Reggie 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿
