Day 1 with Dani, after letting her settle into her new home and routine!

Being able to maintain the horse's focus is hugely important, as they advance their groundwork and undersaddle journeys - it's awfully tough to communicate without focus!

A commonly used principle I like to use in training is "make the right thing easy, and the wrong thing difficult".
If she got distracted and was focusing on the cows, the trains or anything else, I'd have her do trot/canter transitions and reverse directions - she had to focus on me!
As soon as her body language softened towards me and she gave me her focus, I encouraged her to come towards me and rest. She was definitely apprehensive at first, but she caught on quickly, and by the end, she was consistently giving me her full attention when I asked.

$200 for age 9 and under, camp runs from 9-12:30

$250 for age 10-15, camp runs from 8-1:00

$200 for age 16 and over, camp runs from 5-8:00 PM(snacks and drinks included)

$50 non refundable deposit due at least 10 days in advance

Childcare is also available at $15 per hour, and includes snacks. If the child is interested, they can also have a short pony ride to occupy their time

if necessary, camps may be split or combined at the instructors discretion.

No more than 10 campers per session makes for a more intimate experience, and allows more one-on-one time with the instructor, yet still allows campers to be with a diverse group of people.

We will be using camp horses from the lesson herd, but if you are an advanced rider, you are welcome to bring your own horse to camp at an extra $25 per day. Will include hay, water and pasture. Extra $10 per day charge for a stall. OWNER IN CHARGE OF PROVIDING ANY GRAIN OR SUPPLEMENTS. Proof of a negative coggins required 1 week prior to transporting the horse to the camp barn.
Horse transportation is available at a flat rate of $25, plus $1.50 per mile.

Advanced campers 10 and up, who have passed an eval may volunteer to assist with the less experienced camps,in exchange for an hour or so of ride time at the end of each day.

Parents must pick up their children no later than 15 min after camp has ended. A $5 per extra 15 min charge is added on thereafter.

I am starting a horse group for riders 6-15. We will meet up twice each month, for 2 hours each time.

The kids will be learning about aspects of horses and riding that typically aren't covered in lessons, such as: riding in a group, nutrition, hoof care, competing and show attire, horse breeds, etc.

Most of the activities will be unmounted, but there will be some mounted practices as well.

Riders in the group will also receive a discount off the normal show fees at competitions.

This is a rare opportunity to meet and learn with other riders, in a sport is generally solitary.

The cost is $45 per month, per rider, or $40 per month per rider if siblings register together. Any show fees for outside shows are an additional cost.

If interested, please respond with which days would be best to meet up for each of you, as well as if your rider would prefer to compete English or Western this season.
