Last week, we said goodbye to Rio, the matriarch of our kennel. It was tough to lose her while on the other side of the world, but grateful her pack was there by her side.

Rio tragically lost function of her hind legs. I’m a big believer in quality of life over quantity, and our greatest gift to our four-legged kids is knowing when it's time to let them gain their wings.

Rio and her sister Chilli were imported from Australia back in 2017. Thank you Suzie from Redtabu Kennel for not only trusting me with one puppy but two. A lot of my success would not have been possible without your support.

Everyone who crossed paths with Rio absolutely loved her. She would have been eight at the end of this year and she will be missed. We have a really tight-knit pack, and it just won't be the same without our big girl. She will be dearly missed by her sister, granddaughter Ari and most importantly her son Rico.

I want to express my deep gratitude to for supporting us while overseas and allowing our pack to be with Rio during her final moments.

The house will be a little bigger and quieter without her, but she will not be forgotten. Rio produced 18 puppies (two litters) and eight grandbabies. A small handful of her progeny will stay in our breeding programme to continue her legacy.

We love you … we miss you … rest easy my big ginger hippo 😭🫶🏽

This is the second time I’ve done this with the pups!! Still a long way to go … but all learnings 😇 Tonight’s night time snack was chunky dog roll cut into cubes! Learning … manners & patients * video was speed up! The whole session took 5/6 minutes

Finally back home with the kiddies 🤎 Nana Alison did a fabulous job taking care of everyone 🫶🏽

8 week check up done and dusted … a few little hernias on a handful of pups but apart from that all passed with flying colours 😊 Everyone was super impressed with the pups temperaments 💙 10 week check up will be interesting… will be needing a new trolley 🥴

Whoops was going to try get a cute video of Rico and Rio welcoming me home … but as soon as I opened the door and turned, a lady was walking past with her lab 🤦🏽‍♀️ my bad I should’ve checked but lucky these two have ears … 😅😂
