Friends, it’s mama beast here. We have very hard news to share with you, at 7pm exactly yesterday, July 26, Lexi crossed the rainbow bridge in my and her fur beast’s arms. When we went to go for our evening walk we discovered her back legs had become too weak for her to carry on having a meaningful and dignified life, and so we made the easiest and most difficult decision we’ve ever had to make to prevent her suffering. We had a wonderful last day all as a family, and her passing was very peaceful, with a belly full of bacon, just like it should be. We’ll miss this girl more than I could ever say, it’s been the true honor of my life to be her mama. She has changed us both forever, and we can’t be anything but grateful along with our terrible grief. Thank you all for your love from near and far through the years, you’ve been with us through all the ups and downs of caring for a girl with very special needs. We love you all forever, furriends, pink nose kisses one last time ♥️

Howdy, furriends! Mama beast and fur beast and I had a great walk tonight, there was a nice breeze and I even got to meet two new ladies I had never sniffed before! I went to the dogtor last week and she says my muscles in my back legs are getting pretty weak, and I believe it, I have a hard time standing up sometimes and need some extra help from my pawrents, but life is still really nice and I have mostly fun happies and not too many scary terribles 💚 sending you all pink nose kisses, furriends!

It’s my 9th Gotcha Day today, can you believe it?! I had a rough morning with my anxiety today, but mama beast took me out on a walk for an hour and let me go wherever I wanted, and all I really wanted was to stand on our street corner and let everyone who drove by admire me for a while, but then I sniffed out the neighbors’ grandkids and the hunt was on! I was a little barky, but they were as happy to see me as I was to see them. I supervised some bike rides and ball games and rock hunts, and they let me lick their little kid hands over and over. After all that I was pretty tuckered out and ready for a snack, now I’m napping peacefully and everyone is very happy about it.
Life sure is different at 14 than it was when I was 5 and came to live with my pawrents mama beast and fur beast, but I’m still just where I’m supposed to be! Thanks for being here with me, furriends! And big special thanks to my aunties Kathi and Ginger ( & ) for saving me so I could live my very best life with my very best family 💚💚💚

How it started (4/28/2014) vs How it’s going (4/2022)
It’s my gotcha day, everypawdy!! I’ve lived with my human beasts for eight years, can you believe it? I live with a kitty beast, now, too, and I think she’s ok and can stay so long as I don’t get any less butt scritches out in my yard.
I was so nervous my first night, when auntie Kathi left I panted and cried and paced around for a really long time. Fur beast slept on the floor with me that night, and mama beast did the next night, and then all of a sudden I decided I was home and was a super pro at everything I do! Except leashes and baths, but both of those things are the pits so I don’t care if I’m no good at them 😝
I have the most wonderful life with my human beasts, full of all kinds of adventures and treats and friends. Thanks for being here with us all these years!! ♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️

Furriends, I have some sad news. This is Rosebud, a dear doggy furriend of ours who has crossed the rainbow bridge. Her mama beast will miss her so very much and gave her the most wonderful life with her siblings. Rosebud’s mama beast even founded Libby's Haven for Senior Canines, they foster and find forever homes for only older pups here in NH. Please can you send some happy thoughts to Rosebud’s mama beast?
