This fluffy goofball is looking for a space to call his own, where he can relax and chat away. He's a real stunner, and it seems his foster siblings can't handle the competition—they're a bit hissy with him (jealousy, no doubt).
Benji's got the potential to be the perfect companion with a little time and his own space. He's not a fan of being picked up, especially when he's stressed, so he might be a bit much for small children. But give him a window to gaze out of or a high perch to claim, and he's in his element.
Benji is litter trained and would love a catio if you have one. He always greets you at the door, demanding some well-deserved pats.

Storm’s Daily Agenda: the life of a VIP trapped in the body of a house cat.
1. Visit the catio multiple times. Just to confirm it’s still there.
2. Stretch out on the rug at every possible opportunity. It’s called multitasking.
3. Scratch the rug—despite the perfectly good scratch pad right next to it.
4. Occupy the couch for as many hours as possible. It’s a full-time job.
5. Be fully alert and loudly meowing by 6 pm sharp. Dinner doesn’t serve itself.

International Cat Day is a celebration which takes place on the 8th August every year. It was created in 2002 by the International Fund for Animal Welfare. It is a day to raise awareness for cats and learn about ways to help and protect them.

Brett Wh**ey is doing well in foster care, but this boy deserves to be in his forever home now.
I don’t think anyone at IFR will forget this boy in a hurry. How close we came to not being able to help him, how bad his teeth were before our vet was able to sort him out, and then how grateful he was to his foster carer who finally took him in and gave him a safe space.
As with many of our cats, we know so little about him… we think he’s around 5 years old, but he has no defined history other than being left in a carrier at a vet.
He’s a solid, healthy boy with a thick white coat. He did need to have a lot of rotten teeth removed but he’s doing just fine without them, he also has the sweetest little pink nose 😭
Brett’s foster carer thinks he would do well with kids aged 8+ and being the only pet, however any human who loves him will receive the same love in return.

This poor boy has been through it this week. He will be having quite a few teeth removed due to infection and wobbliness, and he's already many mats shaved off. He's on the road to recovery with the support of his amazing foster parent.

There have been a few posts about Ringo lately, but after seeing these pics from his new foster Mama, we had to share.
That face and those ears tell such a story, but to everyone except Ringo it'll always be a mystery. As all of our cats come from the pound, we know so little about them. Their exact age, personality, medical history... our foster carers start from scratch.
I don't know if everyone agrees, but I think mysteries make the best stories.

Ringo got tested for FIV and FeLV and it came back negative, yay! He's a happy and healthy boy, given a short amount of time to settle - he'll be asking for all the pats and scritches. Always formally dressed for a fancy night in, bonus. No tracksuits for this gentleman.

He is doing so well, healing amazingly after his surgery - this boy is likely to have a permanent mlem. He’s becoming more and more affectionate, but in turn the resident female cats are not appreciating him wanting more time with their humans.

Meet Lewis, a former street cat - a salt and pepper gentleman with a lot of unknowns in his past.
He would best suit a home as an only cat, as he does tend to get a bit stressed by his foster siblings, and being such a neat and tidy boy - he would love his own litter tray.

Treasure is the sweetest, cutest little tabby girl. She has a spotted tum and her tail looks like it’s been dipped in an ink pot. She’s an avid soccer player, interrupter of work, and a mad tuna fan. She also loves herself a human to sit next to once she’s settled in. She is fine with other cats, but other cats are not so fine with her 😞 thank you to Lotta (6) for her awesome flyer!

He has some of the coolest colouring we’ve ever seen, but due to his size he’s a bit intense for other cats.
Ringo is bringing up the rear (currently in foster). This boy is SO ready for his new home. He has so much love to give, and just needs a little time to settle in. He might give you a little hiss but as soon as he knows you’re offering a head scratch he’ll be winding around your legs in no time! 🐈⬛

Meet Mr Moonlight.
If you've followed us for a while, you'll know that this boy has been through it. An older gent, at 11 years approx - he was scooped up while literally being attacked by a dog.
Despite everything he's been through - this boy is full of love, he's not just a lap cat - he'll drape himself over you and just stare at you with those eyes full of gratitude.
While he's been doing well in foster care, the situation has changed and unfortunately Mr Moo doesn't do great with other cats - it's not him - it's them (not joking, this poor boy gets bullied - he’s not the bully).
He is a sweetheart, however he tends to get picked on - so would do best in a foster or forever home as the only cat. He is part of a bonded pair as he comes with his own squishmallow named Willoughby and you MUST take them both. Please see them pictured here before and after an argument.

We’ve had some amazing news with a few of our cats going off to adoption trials in their new homes. This is SO wonderful - but… our work is never done as you know.
We have three cuties needing to get out of the pound. A 12 week old tortie baby - not yet named, a sterilised but unchipped male (Tenko, who is getting very sad in the pound) and HOWARD - that boof in the litter tray.

This boy has been in foster for so long and really deserves a home of his own.
At only around 3 years old, he has lived a hard life in an industrial area, thankfully a Good Samaritan trapped him and became his foster carer.
Now at his second foster home, he has come so far. Winding around your legs and purring for his food, and curling up while you watch TV.
He can sometimes be a bit wary of people, who could blame him after his start in life - but with time and treats, he will become your best friend.
These cats are so worth it ❤️ please consider opening your home to this handsome man

🆘 🛟 Please help us! 🐈⬛ we have a stressed kitty who needs a fresh start.
Unfortunately one of our adopted kittens Pickle (a.k.a. Arthur), who is now an adult, needs to come back into foster care. 😞
He is not coping in his current home, and is toileting inappropriately and now having altercations with the other cat in the home.
We believe that when he moves to a new environment where he can start fresh, without all the smells he's been accustomed to in his current home, he can get back on track and be ready for a new adoptive home. Ideally he would start out in a room without carpet in case of any accidents while he re-learns appropriate toileting stress-free.
Of course he will see our vet before going to a new foster home, to make sure there isn't anything health-wise that's causing his problems.

We are so glad you’re safe now.
After surgery, having basically all of his teeth removed, Brett is on the road to recovery and even allowed his foster parents to give him a good clean after the operation.
After a few days of healing and with those rotten teeth gone he should be feeling much better.
We received some very generous donations, but still need some help to cover Brett’s vet costs. Please consider helping a cat in need just before tax time, or if you can’t - liking and sharing our posts is so very helpful.

A couple of bonded babes 🥰
Nemo and Raspbry are the cutest little pair of siblings, at roughly 7 months old - they are absolute besties and have the nicest natures. They are friendly with kids, other cats and pets - even chickens (their foster fam has an indoor hen, these are indoor catto's too). The only thing better than one cat, is two cats - even if you can't really tell them apart. We promise!

BRETT HAS BEEN SAVED! But we still need your help.
Thanks to some of our INCREDIBLE volunteers, Brett was liberated right before he was about to be euthanised. He was declining in the pound so badly, and had become quite feisty due to his fear. He has been taken in by a very experienced foster mama, and you can see while he still look scared - he’s hopeful, and is looking at her with interest. We are so grateful for Brett’s saviours. He’s already purring and wanting pats. These kitties show so much gratitude it’s incredible.
His journey to healing is far from over. We have shared the pictures of his teeth to show how bad his dental health is. We need to raise $2,000 ASAP to cover the cost of his surgery.
We don’t know about you, but that broken tooth made us cry.
With the end of the financial year not far away, and Brett’s expensive surgery (on MONDAY - we didn’t want him to wait any longer 😿) we would like to let you know that any donations to IFR of $2 or more are tax deductible.
Donations to IFR help us to cover vet work for kitties like these, and also enable us to support their foster carers who take care of them while they wait for their forever homes. Oh Kalani! Honestly how beautiful does she look in some of these pictures. Thank you to her foster mama and her foster mamas smartphone for putting this together. The name Kalani is originally from Hawaii, meaning “of the heavens or sky” and this girl is certainly larger than life. This deep brown tabby girl loves her kitty playmates, playing sneak attack and making sure you stay on task while working from home. She’s healthy, young (approx 3 years old) - and ready for her forever home 🐈

XENA #3 This little girl has recently moved to a new short term foster home, and she is setting in well already! She is a very affectionate and gorgeous girl. Right after Xena arrived, her new carer shared this update: "My big cat Elijah has seen her for 2 seconds and already has a crush on her and keeping guard on the door 😂" Xena is looking for a forever home. We are still getting to know who she is as a cat (e.g. we're not sure how she will be when meeting other cats face to face, but hope to find out soon), and will have a bio up for her soon. #IFRXena3
