Malina, a spirited calico girl with an affectionate heart, has always been a bundle of personality. The runt of a surrendered mother’s litter, she quickly grew into a confident and loving companion. While she can be shy in new surroundings, Malina thrives on human connection and is a dedicated cuddle partner. Throughout her life, she has shared her home with feline siblings, preferring gentle companionship over more dominant personalities. Despite being born with hypertrophic cardiomyopathy, her early diagnosis and ongoing care have kept her happy and healthy. However, after a life-changing event, her caregiver made the difficult yet selfless decision to find her a home where she could continue to receive love and attention in a low-stress environment.

Thanks to our team’s thoughtful matchmaking, Malina has found a wonderful new caregiver who truly understands her needs. Her new home is quiet and cozy, filled with sunny spots and comfortable perches—perfect for a cat who loves warmth and relaxation. With no other pets, she now enjoys undivided attention, plenty of playtime, and all the affection she craves. Already, she has settled into her routine, basking in the sunlight, curling up for naps, and forming a strong bond with her new family. Fostering is life changing, for the kitten you foster and FOR YOU... the hardest part is saying goodbye. When I wonder why I would put my heart through this over and over again, I simply have to remind myself that if I didn't step up and save the kitten at risk, she would have been euthanized. The pain of knowing that our city shelters are euthanizing kittens is just too much to bear (and a lot harder to deal with than saying goodbye to a kitten I have loved who is now going to live and be loved by a new family). That's why I foster and hope to share stories, photos and advice with other foster pet parents.
