Brian Barresi is a multi-talented artist working outside of Boston, Massachusetts. Coming soon: A limited block print series.

Working out of his home studio, Brian has recently enjoyed working on a plethora of projects from a set of digital prints to a run of traditionally painted animal heads. A vast array of interests ranging from drawing with ink, painting, watercolor, digital processes, clay and screen printing has helped Brian widen the scope of his audience.

I was informed by The Sketchbook Project several nights ago that my sketchbook was presumably lost in the highway fire of last year. They refunded the $15 I sent them to have my book shipped back to me. They said they were sorry and acknowledged the time and energy it must have taken me to make the work. (It was a form letter, nothing personal.)

The lesson I learned from this experience is to trust my gut and follow through with what my intuition is telling me in regards to how I showcase my work until the end of my days. Nothing is permanent, even if my work outlasts me. Impact is key. I will focus on that.

I never officially posted this book as a single piece and it’s sad to say, but this is the best I think I’ll ever be able to scrape it together. My goal with this sketchbook was to explore and display the varied media I’m pursuing; expanding my knowledge base and pushing my comfort zone. I learned a lot and was happy with the result.
