Summer is coming! 🌞Skip needs a drink during groundwork. And we have problems again...

Skip's not walking correctly unfortunately since a while. Hopefully his navicular syndrom/inflammation is not back already 😓 He desperately needs to lose weight, but cannot really do the workout. I will have a good vet check hopefully next week also for his back. Poor guy. He is so sweet and wants to put in the work but his body is not cooperating. Maybe I need to check for pssm as well? Because of his stiffness and on and off lameness?

Summer🌞 in the Netherlands started early this year! And iit lasted only 2 days...😂

came again today for Skip's restart under saddle. Hanging etc was no problem for Skip. But when she sat on him he exploded 😨 We think he could be bothered by a irritatation of his sheath wich was quite swollen again today. We are already treating this. Hopefully he'll be better next time. We are taking our time for this ❤️

at work 😍💪🏼 She is the best barefoot trimmer we have met and have known here for years. Working hard to keep Skip his hooves in the best shape possible and always ready to explaine things.

This picture was not taken today but I forgot to take pics. Today Elody advanced the training to hanging on Skip. All went well and hopefully he'll feel confident and happy to go riding again.

🌞 came again today for Skip. They did some more groundwork and also parking 🤩. In the meanwhile a new horse joined the herd. Welcome Dama ❤️ the boys joined up to meet her 😉🐎🌞

Yesterday I was at the stable the whole day but took only 1 picture😂 but we had a busy day and vet visit 😳

First I fed the horses and cleaned the paddocks with the help Then I trained Skip using mostly my body for direction and voice for speed. We waited for the vet to come look at our horses.

Skip has a cough when starting to canter. She listened to his lungs and he has some asmatic predisposition, but nothing serious (yet). 🥺 So we can continue our training. Cantering is good for his lungs. Also the management: like 24/7 fresh air is perfect for him she said ❤️ maybe in the future we'll need to feed him wet hay, but we'll see how when we get there

Furthermore the skin of his sheath and belly around showed some irritation. We got a ointment for this. Hopefully this will help. Otherwise we'll need to investigate further...

Lunging in the wind. Finally the ground isn't muddy or frozen 🥳 Skip always has to warm up a lot before he gets some energy in his stride but then he was trotting, walking and galopping nicely❤️

A rare sight but only for the injections is Skip in the box. He was treated today with IRAP injections for his navicular inflammation. We 🙏 it will help him against this painfull problem together with lots of ❤️good management, training and great hoofcare ofcourse.

Skip!

Today the vet came to examin Skip. It was quite obvious his left front left when trotting, but also his right front leg was not 100%. She numbed the lf leg in the navicular area and he was trotting normal. Next week she will inject him with IRAP. Hope this will help him 🙏 he was very calm and sweet ❤️
