Our Story

Hi! My name is Monavee, but a lot folks like to call me Moonbeam. When I was a little girl & was asked what I wanted to be when I got older, I always responded that I wanted to be a teacher. Well, I got my wish! I am an accomplished teacher, healer, and peacemaker to pets & their pet parents alike. I've been helping pet parents & their pets understand each other's wants & needs for over 20 years! I have been working with pets & their people since I was 14 years old. For many of those years I worked as a Veterinarian Assistant. I retired from that profession, & my passion is to work with dogs, cats, & their pet parents outside of the clinic. I give insight to making your lives with your furry friends easier, healthier, and more balanced within... I am a natural Peacemaker between pets & their pet parents. I am gifted at finding out what would give you & your pets peace. I am a teacher & a channel of healing the mind, body, & soul. These lyrics say it best: "There is beauty in failure... and, there is grace within forgiveness." DON'T WORRY, & don't be embarrassed if you've been doing it wrong... I never judge, I just show you what your pet is trying to tell you... I speak for your pets. I learn what makes them tick & teach you how to understand them, in turn making them peaceful members of the family. Sometimes we, pets included, have to fail in order to learn the bigger picture. I know I did! I am good at recognizing problematic patterns of behavior and figuring out how find the peace & balance. Each individual pet & owner is different and therefore it takes insight on how to help you both. I possess this God given gift & want to help. Although, some dogs are so far removed from their instincts that they need to be placed back into a pack to relearn their primitive self to become happy & balanced once again. For those instances I offer Doggie Group Therapy where your pet stays with us & our small pack to learn to be balanced dogs once again. Our dogs help reinforce the house rules that help the unbalanced dog, to relearn how to be balanced. They learn by example of good behavior from the dogs that share our house. I am well skilled in this area and have helped over 100 dogs from the shelter to become happy, healthy, & balanced pets within to find their forever homes. I grew up in a small town called Richland Hills in Fort Worth, Texas. In my mid-late 20s I moved to Downtown Dallas were I fell in love with the city & my husband. We live in a small suburb of North Dallas called Farmers Branch and we love this city! My husband & I have lived here with our dogs & 2 cats since 2004. In January of 2005 a tragedy occurred that changed my life forever. But, I was blessed that two days before this tragedy a very good friend held my hand & taught me how to have a relationship with God. I had to do a lot of self examination during that time. In which, is when I decided that to be healed I must first heal others... That's when I started volunteering at our local animal shelter, rehabilitating dogs/cats, & became a foster parent to so many in need. And, in 2012 I won the Volunteer of the Year Award for the whole state of Texas for all the work I had done over the years. I feel that God guides me to the needy so that I may help them. It took me a long time to figure out that path He wanted me to follow, and I feel that He gave me a gift that started when I was a child has been guiding me along the way this whole time. But, without this tragedy, I would not have blossomed into person I am today using this precious gift, & I wouldn't be helping dogs & cats blossom into their better self as well. My main philosophy is addressing the bad & praising the good whatever it may be in a rational positive way. You can’t just ‘teach’ a pet (or person) to change their behavior… you have to create an environment that makes them want to learn! I give people a foothold into understanding their pet/s. I encourage folks to have the fortitude to look at things from a different perspective… A candle looses nothing by lighting another candle. No ideas, including my own, emerge from a vacuum. I get my information from many sources. There have been many outstanding people & many outstanding resources in my life to encourage & teach me, having a profound impact on me & the way I think about behavior… beast, man, or God.
