Some cute Daisy’s Blue Ricefish in one of my tanks. These are tropical temp ricefish (I keep mine at 74-76 F). I’d like to replace the black Eco-Complete substrate with Flourite Red to see if it would make their orange color pop. They really enjoy a planted tank and I often catch them snacking on algae in between meals. 2 males upper left, 2 females lower right.

Some of my Miyuki and Blue Sparkle Japanese Ricefish snacking on baby brine shrimp. These are the sub-tropical to cold water Ricefish. Their parents and many older siblings were raised outside last summer. They do great in small patio ponds late spring through fall, but need to overwinter inside here in the NE as they would not survive the pond freezing over. An easy and beautiful fish to keep in a simple unheated planted tank like this.

Long fin White Cloud Mountain Minnows, aka Meteor Minnows, snacking on some baby brine shrimp tonight. These are another sub-tropical temp species I keep that tolerate a wide temperature range. I keep them outside early summer to early fall then inside in my basement in unheated tanks. They spawn all year for me.

Some long fin White Cloud Mountain Minnow fry eating vinegar eels and finally getting adult colors and big enough for clear pics. They won't develop their long fins until closer to adult size.

Our Story

I'm a small hobby breeder of freshwater tropical fish and invertebrates in Canton, Ohio. I also keep and propagate multiple plants and mosses and keep a large collection of botanicals to use in my aquariums. I occasionally offer my home bred stock and plants, and supplies for sale.
