Some of my Miyuki and Blue Sparkle Japanese Ricefish snacking on baby brine shrimp. These are the sub-tropical to cold water Ricefish. Their parents and many older siblings were raised outside last summer. They do great in small patio ponds late spring through fall, but need to overwinter inside here in the NE as they would not survive the pond freezing over. An easy and beautiful fish to keep in a simple unheated planted tank like this.
Meteor Minnows snacking before lights out tonight.
Long fin White Cloud Mountain Minnows, aka Meteor Minnows, snacking on some baby brine shrimp tonight. These are another sub-tropical temp species I keep that tolerate a wide temperature range. I keep them outside early summer to early fall then inside in my basement in unheated tanks. They spawn all year for me.
Some long fin White Cloud Mountain Minnow fry eating vinegar eels and finally getting adult colors and big enough for clear pics. They won't develop their long fins until closer to adult size.
Love the easy to start siphon on my drip acclimation kit - no sucking and you don't even have to get your hands wet! www.jeannesaquatics.com
