Hi everyone this is just a short note to tell you a bit more about me and my Business. My name is Victoria Muir and I live in Holm and I run a Dog sitting service called Springwell Dogs Lodge. I love dogs and so does my family, I have 3 kids all above the age of 18 and the

y too love dogs. I started this business because like me a lot of people don't like to leave their dogs in Kennels as they CAN be impersonal I'm not saying that kennels are bad or anything but I don't think my dogs would like sleeping in a kennel and not having 24-hour cuddles on tap. Ok now the bit no one likes Cost;

£12 per day per dog if own food and Bedding are supplied. Payment is required on the day of arrival unless previously discussed with me. If you have any Questions Please don't hesitate to contact me my Number are;

Wouldn’t believe Baldr had major surgery in October 2023. Recoverd so well thanks to the hard work of East Neuk Vets in Fife.

Meant to put this up at the start of the week.

Great initiative to be happening in Orkney. Please pass on details even if you don’t have kids/grandkids.

Pupdate 18.10.23
Another check up at the vet today. Temperature has gone down and hopefully infection is well on its way out the door. As usual he had everyone cooing over him and on another good note his stitches came out today which will hopefully mean he’ll start trying to use the leg again.

Pup date
His surgery will be tomorrow Fri. They think he will make a full recovery after the fixed and plate his leg. He is going to be on crate rest only for the next 6 to 8 weeks. But he will get better xx

Please keep my baby boy in your thoughts as on Tuesday evening he fell and fractured his front left leg in three places. He’s at East Neuk veterinary hospital to hopefully have it fixed. While I sit in Fort William worrying about him. ###

Rescues have had a few calls and messages of concern and worry over the XL bullies being added to the DDA as a banned breed…ok so

1. Please don’t panic
2. If your dog isn’t neutered get it done now as it is part of the conditions if your dog is seized.
3. Start positive muzzle training your dog so as they see it as a positive thing not a bad thing should the worst happen.
4. Don’t waste your money on DNA kits they prove nothing.
5. If your XL Bully is via a rescue touch base with them they should be offering loads of advice and support.
6. The most important thing is if they come to seize your dog do not let them in without a warrant and if they have a warrant SIGN NOTHING!!!!!!
No matter how much they demand you do PLEASE DO NOT SIGN ANYTHING. They may put pressure on you to sign but you are signing to agree for your dog to be euthanised nothing else so stand your ground and refuse to sign.

It’s dark times ahead for everyone but especially those with XL bullies.
Please remember there is support out there for you.

The need for change cannot be found by banning more dogs the need for change needs to be focused on tightening ownership legislation, dog licenses and much more.
