Gemela 16/11/13 - 20/02/22

It has been 3 weeks today that Gemela passed away💔

After noticing a swelling in her stomach she was taken to my vets were several tests were carried out, blood taken, X-rays and ultrasounds also. Three different specialists were consulted and their advice was unanimous in that it was a tumour of the spleen and the spleen needed to be removed! An operation was successfully carried out in a private clinic but they found that her liver too had been effected. Samples of both the spleen and liver where taken and sent to a specialist laboratory. The results came back as incurable cancer. The next two weeks she was fine and played and loved like a brand new pup then suddenly within 12 hours she deteriorated and sadly passed away.
I rarely gave thought to this happening to any of my dogs as poisoning, Ilegal snares, Wolf attacks and Badger mauling were always my greatest concerns. She was a beautiful dog with an amazing nose at finding all prey and very intelligent. I am so proud to have bred and owned her ❤️ you have to live it to feel it.

Gemela 16/11/13 - 20/02/22

Hoy hace 3 semanas que Gemela falleció💔.

Tras notar una hinchazón en su estómago fue llevada a mi veterinario donde le hicieron varias pruebas, sacaron sangre, radiografías y ecografías también. Se consultó a tres especialistas diferentes y su consejo fue unánime: ¡se trataba de un tumor en el bazo y había que extirparlo! La operación se llevó a cabo con éxito en una clínica privada, pero se descubrió que el hígado también estaba afectado. Se tomaron muestras del bazo y del hígado y se enviaron a un laboratorio especializado. El resultado fue un cáncer incurable. Las dos semanas siguientes estuvo bien, jugó y nos amó como un cachorro nuevo, pero de repente en 12 horas se deterioró y lamentablemente falleció.
Rara vez pensé en que esto le sucediera a alguno de mis perros, ya que el envenenamiento, las trampas ilegales, los ataques de lobos y los ataques de tejones eran siempre mis mayores preocupaciones. Era una perra preciosa con un olfato increíble para encontrar todo tipo de presas y muy inteligente. Estoy muy orgulloso de haberla criado y poseído ❤️

The only pup of this litter and named Layla. This pup was promised to her new owners and I do wish that I would have kept her🙁. A smooth leggy bitch with the appearance of the original old type Fox Terriers like her father Tom. I believe that these type are a special type to keep and crossed with a broken / Rough coat will produce a nice varied litter 👌
