The Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment is seeking to connect with people who attended a puppy adoption event on July 20 at Moms and Mutts Colorado (MAMCO) Rescue for Pregnant and Nursing Dogs in Englewood. There are no words to express my sadness for all the people who attended this adoption event and are now at risk.
Not all rescues are the same . Cooper dogs and cats have age appropriate shots.

I don’t understand how two great dogs have not been adopted. These girls are sweet. They just want to be loved. They have so much love for their new adopters. They love to walk. They love to sit on the couch and watch movies. They need a home.

Years ago, together with the board of directors, we made the decision to always take back our companions. We know first hand life can change on a dime. I have three beautiful girls that need homes. They were in wonderful homes, and life changed. They have been raised in loving kind homes , and that is what they are, loving and kind.
Thelma and Louise are sisters 68 lbs and 48 lbs. I think they are Chesapeake mixes. I don’t think they would make hunting dogs at this point . They LOVE life. They love to play. Thelma is the bossy one , Louise is the snuggle one. They are fantastic girls. They walk well on a leash, and are kennel trained . They do Ok with other dogs . They should go together and they should be the only dogs. No cats, they chase the cats and squirrels out of the yard. Just good 3 year old girls looking for a couch and a yard and lots of love to give.
The next girl is Daisy. Oh my, have you ever wanted a dog that is a total Velcro dog? You will never be alone. This big lab/ GSD mix has lots of love to give. She is timid, Daisy does well with most people . She hates car rides and really hates the kennel . Daisy needs a home with out a lot of other dogs, or be the only dog, no children under 10, and a large couch for snuggles. She walks well on a leash , and loves attention. Daisy is a resource guarder - no free feeding . She is Uber smart! She is one amazing smart gal.

All three of these girls are awesome souls waiting for their happily ever after.
If you have ever said- I just want a good dog….. Cooper’s has three.

Why I like Daisy!
Daisy is a soft soul, she just wants to be loved . Daisy is a Velcro dog, she doesn’t leave my side, curls up at my feet at work, follows me everywhere. She is the BEST companion. I can see that she is a little timid around the edges, a little insecure.
What she needs:
Daisy needs a quieter home, lots of time , lots of love. Older kids maybe, she would thrive as the only dog. She is a resource guarder, no free feeding . She also needs walks, she is a chunky monkey. She loves to walk. Daisy doesn’t like car
rides.
If you have ever wanted a dog that will love you forever, and is big enough to go do things with , Daisy is your girl.
She is a black dog, so photos don’t do her justice. She is beautiful. She needs a home.

Meet Daisy! She is a brown eyed walking marshmallow couch sitting delight . She loves people, not so great with car rides. Loves to go on walks with a leash . Doesn’t like the kennel, at all, kennels are torcher to her. She is an all around great gal. 2 years old.

Hello Everyone,
This is Suzanne the Founder and Director of Cooper’s Companions.
This morning I am sad. I woke to the news that one of our adopted Cooper dogs was owner surrendered at a shelter in Denver. Luckily the dog was rehomed.
If you have adopted from us, you know we have a clause stating we will take back our dogs and cats. Life happens, Coopers is the safety net.

The shelter that took in the dog never contacted us. Never ! We had no idea until the new owner scanned the chip and reached out to us. Shame on that shelter. The big “push” to get along with rescues , well that is just lip service. How can this shelter defend their in actions? They can’t . Coopers is NOT a retail rescue, stand by our dogs and cats.

Rescue is tough. In rescue we see and have our hands on the very worse of what humanity does to animals. We repair, rehab those pets. We try our hardest to make sure they all go to great homes. It really hurts when we are wrong, the end result can be euthanasia.

For those who have a Cooper dog or cat, give them a kiss from me. Thank you for loving them.
