I tackled a few things in my crazy overgrown herb garden today. It has been a while - it dang near tackled me back!

Cilantro volunteered to become coriander, which was so kind. 😂

Oregano is two layers thick drying on my fancy dancy frame with chicken wire stapled to it. Did you know you can overwinter oregano if youre crafty? 🌿

Rosemary smells so good and it’s the gift that keeps on giving.

And then, there are basil flowers. ☺️ Who wants to know how to make basil flower tea?

Wow do we have mosquitos after that giant rain and garden flood! It’s almost impossible to pick things. 🦟🦟🦟

But you guys…many, many bites later, we have a little bounty! Watermelons, little pumpkins and squash are also coming along. I couldn’t get out there to pull the big cukes before they became beasties, so that’ll be a meal by itself. Woof that two week rain did not help! I’m already planning to fix my mistakes for next year. 🤣

We also have a cute farm supervisor - Bojangles. He is daring after a little cat nip. 😻

Ahh the butterflies and bees are happy hanging out in the bee balm. 😍 This plant is a beast! I’ll have to split her next year and put her all over.

When you go out of town on a sunny, steamy weekend after a week of rain and boom! The herb garden has taken over. Time to collect some goodies!

Yearning for Simple Living?

Mikelly Farms is the beginning of something different. It took some false starts and a lot of living to get to this place. It's a little scary trying something new, but I think you'll enjoy our adventure. Decade four brought with it the desire to find peace through new paths - one of which was the desire to be a maker. The second, togetherness. We love our busy lives, but want a deeper connection - with life, each other, and the world around us. We want to live with intention and share that life with others.

So...what if we stopped climbing and just enjoyed this place? What if we rerouted the entire journey and went on a new adventure?

What if, we change everything and do only what brings joy to our lives?

This is where we begin.
