So proud of my kid for taking on the junior ring all weekend as well as the open ring with our girl Stirling!! Her and Stirling have come so far together and today earned a fourth in class placement in juniors with 14 Open Intermediate juniors in the ring❤️ great job girls!!

Just a friendly reminder to make sure your four legged family members stay inside, and safe during Independence Day Festivities. Even the most well socialized, go with the flow pets can become reactive when startled by fireworks. Use a leash for potty breaks, even if you have a fenced yard, better safe than sorry!

Also, please make sure your microchip contact information is up to date. If you have a Stone Path Golden your registration is through AKC Reunite so you just need to login and update to make changes, no fees apply.

This is Gordie. Gordie is 9. Gordie took BOB at Tidewater KC of Virginia today under respected breeder judge Gloria Kerr in an impressive group of specials. He’s aging very gracefully. ☺️ I’m so incredibly proud to be his breeder owner handler!

It was a very good day for the family! The National is being streamed live on AKC.TV if you want to watch.

Today was sweepstakes day at the GRCA National. My home grown dogs made it a good day, totally worth the trip. These guys are winners even when they don’t win, but today they won in the ring. Cathy Story judged dogs, and Ann Greenbank the girls. Gordie was in 8-10 year veterans, and took second in a really lovely class of accomplished dogs. Cuddy was in 10-12 year veterans, and also took second in her beautiful class. It’s thrilling to be out in the ring with those other goldens at the National, but to take second in both classes blew me away. It warms my heart to see all the sugar faces, and it brings a tear to my eye every time, but the dogs were also fit and moved well. Great to see so many dogs that are holding up.

The best for me, maybe, was Chani placing in her first big girl puppy class. At 6 months 13 days, she took fourth in a really big 6-9 month class, and the judge said some very nice things about her. She behaved quite well for me today, although she was still clearly the most puppy of the puppies out there and very clearly the youngest. The judge’s exam, for example, is still an opportunity to wiggle and make a new friend. 😂 I can’t wait until she’s matured more and is a more experienced show dog. Thanks very much to both judges, and especially to Ann Greenbank for seeing past Chani’s puppy behaviors in the ring to find the nice dog.

Too hot and sunny today for good photos of the oldsters, but Chani always looks good. 😉

Please make sure you have clear directives for your pets. While most have family ready and willing I will always be a backup for microchips and the vet for you. They always have a place to come home to.

Meet Coco… at 11 years old her life was turned upside down when she suddenly lost her mom ..her only human family that she knew. We were notified by wonderful caring dog club members that had taken her in until we could be reached. Within two days she was back with us because the club members knew she came from us years ago.

Getting her vet records was quite a challenge because her vet was not cooperative because we were not listed as a contact… for that fact there was no one authorized because I’m sure no one could forsee this happening. After supplying our original contract from 11 years prior they were turned over eventually. My point in telling this story is please prepare for your pets in cases like this. Coco was lucky that her moms friends knew who to call and she didn’t end up at a rescue or shelter and got to come back to her first home… she wasn’t super thrilled at first to share my attention and to have so many new friends, but this mornings picture seems to tell how she feels now. Please Please Please leave clear directives for your pets and make sure your vet knows in cases like this to cooperate and turn over vet records. This dog needed vet care right away when we picked her up and she was 11… we had no idea nor did anyone else know if she was on daily medicine or if she had issues that needed to be addressed. Fortunately she is in perfect health and is From Jeter x Mattie’s litter from years ago. Thank you to our client and friend Jill for taking the ride late one evening to pick Coco up. She was happy to see me. They never seem to forget ❤️

Great day for the family!

Aberdeen, Decoy x Maggie, was Best of Winners for 2 points toward her championship, handled by Jamie Lamphier. She was entered along with her uncles, Oban and Buck who were both in ribbons.

Sad puppy, Hattie got bit by something this afternoon and was an itchy, swollen mess. We gave her Benadryl and took her to get checked out. Luckily nothing serious and after a steroid shot she is feeling a bit better. 💛
