Ideal home:
Quiet and patient home
Secure fenced yard
No small children

My name is Diesel, and I'm searching for my forever home. Let me tell you a bit about myself and what I'm looking for in a family.

At 5 years old and weighing 33 lbs, I recently transitioned from a commercial breeding facility to my SIRA foster home in Fenton, MO. Everything is new to me, and I'm still adjusting to the sights and sounds of a home environment. Loud noises and sudden movements can startle me, but with each passing day, I'm becoming more comfortable and learning to relax, thanks to the love and attention from my foster mom.

I'm a loverboy at heart, enjoying snuggling up with my foster family on the couch and soaking in their affection. But nothing brings me more joy than being outdoors in a fenced yard, where I can run, leap, and play to my heart's content. I'm quiet and well-behaved indoors, house-trained, and content to sleep through the night in my crate without a fuss.

While I haven't been around human kids yet, I get along well with other dogs and cats, showing little interest in them. I'm also starting to learn how to walk on a leash, but I'll need a family committed to practicing with me until I become a pro. A securely fenced yard is a must for me, along with a family dedicated to keeping me safe from accidental escapes.

Although I'd love to have a doggy friend to play with, I'll also do well as the only pet in a home where my humans have plenty of time to play and bond with me. I'm a healthy boy, neutered, and up-to-date on vaccinations, ready to bring joy and companionship to a loving family.

If you reside in the Midwest and are interested in welcoming a handsome, sweet boy like me into your home, please consider visiting www.savingshibas.com/adopt to start the approval process with SIRA. They'll ensure that we're a good match before introducing you to my foster mom so we can meet!

Thank you for considering me as a potential addition to your family. I'm excited at the possibility of finding my forever home with you!

Warm regards,
Diesel šŸ¾

Hi there, Iā€™m Lass, and Iā€™m on the hunt for my forever home! Iā€™m a petite 6-year-old Shiba Inu, weighing just 15 pounds. Foster mom in Monroe, WI says Iā€™m a total sweetheart and a very good girl. Iā€™m looking for a calm, quiet home where I can relax on a soft bed, enjoy some cheek and head scritches, and snuggle up with my favorite human for goodnight cuddles.

Iā€™m still getting used to living in a home with humans, so Iā€™m a bit shy at first. While I might not come to you for attention right away, I really enjoy it when foster mom gets on the floor with me to give me gentle pets.

The other dogs here have been such a big help! I adore their companyā€”they make me feel safe and are teaching me how to play and be silly. I even chase my tail when no oneā€™s watching! Having another friendly dog around in my forever home would be amazing since they help bring out my confidence.

When my foster family goes out, Iā€™m a very good girl. Iā€™m potty trained and not destructive at all. In fact, I seem to feel more comfortable socializing, eating, and drinking when the humans are away. But Iā€™m learning every day that people can be kind and gentle, and I even let foster mom pick me up with no worries.

Leash walking is a new skill Iā€™m working on. Iā€™m starting to get the hang of it, but for now, a securely fenced yard is a must since Iā€™m still learning to feel confident outside.

Iā€™d do best in an adult-only home because I find human kids a little too overwhelming. Their quick movements and loud noises scare me, and I just want to run and hide. Iā€™ve never lived with cats, but I donā€™t mind the guinea pig who lives here. Iā€™m spayed, vaccinated, and ready to find my perfect match!

My dream forever home will have a patient and understanding human whoā€™s willing to give me time to adjust and feel safe. Bonus points if thereā€™s a doggy sibling to show me the ropes!

If you live in the Midwest and think I might be the shy, sweet companion youā€™re looking for, visit www.savingshibas.com/adopt to apply. Once approved, SIRA will introduce you to my foster mom so we can meet. I canā€™t wait to start this next chapter with you! šŸ¾

Kita here with an update. What a crazy day! I had surgery yesterday to fix my damaged knee. I did such a good job that I got to go back to my foster home this morning! I've got medicine to make sure that I am not in too much pain and foster mom even took off my cone for a minute so I could take this photo. Thank you to everyone who donated so far - you helped me get the care I needed right away! SIRA still needs more funds to cover the full cost, but we've made a big dent in the bill. Phew! I think I'll go take a nap now. SIRA is right - all of you Shiba people are so amazing!

Hello,

My name is Ranger, and I'm on the lookout for my forever home! Allow me to share a bit about myself and what I'm looking for in my perfect family.

At 2 years old and weighing 20 lbs, I've had quite the journey to find a loving home. Unfortunately, my past was rough, as I was abandoned by a commercial breeder and left with some painful injuries. However, thanks to the caring folks at SIRA and my wonderful foster family, life has taken a turn for the better.

Since arriving at my foster home, I've experienced nothing but kindness and care. I was cautious at first, understandably so, but gradually, I've started to reveal my silly and playful side. I adore playing with toys, wrestling with other dogs, and indulging in delicious treats ā€“ especially those beef liver treats, they're the best!

Despite my past challenges, I'm a smart and good boy in my foster home. Leash training has been a bit tough for me due to my sensitivity, but my foster parents are helping me adjust to a step-in harness, which feels more comfortable. Thus, a securely fenced yard will be essential for me to explore, play, and do my business comfortably.

For my forever home, I'm seeking a family who understands shy and fearful dogs, as I continue to build trust and confidence. While I enjoy the company of other dogs and thrive in their presence, I'm not suited for a home with small children, as they can be overwhelming for me.

I'm a healthy boy with immense potential, and I'm currently being fostered in Jonesboro, MO. If you reside in the Midwest and are seeking a handsome, loving companion like me, please consider visiting www.savingshibas.com/adopt to start the application process.

Your understanding and patience are key as I continue to blossom and adjust to a life filled with love and kindness. Once approved, SIRA will introduce you to my foster mom, and hopefully, we can meet and start our journey together.

Thank you for considering me as a part of your family.

Warm regards,
Ranger šŸ¾

**Update - Kita's srgery went well yeserday and she may get to go hime today! Thank you so much to all who have contributed so far!** My name is Kita and I need your help! I did something expensive. I didn't mean to - I'm a good girl and I don't know how this happened! I hurt my knee - really bad! Foster mom saw me limping so she took me to the vet and they used big words like "shattered cruciate" and "torn ligament" and "TPLO surgery" and said I need to get it fixed TODAY. SIRA has promised to get me fixed up, but the vet estimates that it will cost $5,000 because of the extent of the damage! SIRA's special "Katie's Fund" that helps with foster dog medical expenses was not expecting this big hit and we need help to cover the cost. Foster mom says every little bit will help! You can donate securely here, or through SIRA's website at www.savingshibas.com (click the yellow "donate" button). Thank you!

Hi! Iā€™m Jaela, a 3-year-old, 18-lb. girl looking for my forever home! I came from a commercial breeding facility to my foster home in Columbus, OH, and wowā€”life here is so much better (though I still donā€™t trust that scary Roomba!).

Iā€™m a gentle, good girl in the houseā€”potty trained, non-destructive, and fine when left alone in my kennel or playing in the living room. Iā€™m still learning to trust people, so Iā€™m a bit shy, but Iā€™ll let foster dad pet my head and pick me up. I take treats so gently!

I love other dogs, especially my foster fur-brother, and the fenced yard is my happy place. Iā€™m working on leash walking, but itā€™s easier with a dog buddy by my side. I haven't met kids or cats, but loud noises can be scary, so a quiet home with older, gentle kids would be best.

Iā€™d love a forever family with a securely fenced yard and, ideally, another nice dog to play with and help me feel at ease. If you live in the Midwest and are ready to bring home a shy, playful, and gentle girl, visit savingshibas.com/adopt to apply. Once approved, SIRA will connect you with my foster dad so we can meetā€”canā€™t wait!

Hi, Iā€™m Franklin, and Iā€™m ADORABLE! Iā€™m a Shiba puppy under 1 year old, living with my foster family in Bloomington, IL, and Iā€™m on the hunt for my forever home.

This little guy is a social butterfly with other dogs. He loves to play, wrestle, and snuggle up with his furry friends in Normal, IL. Franklin sometimes struggles to pick up on social cues from dogs who arenā€™t as interested in playing, but heā€™s learning! Heā€™s even met a cat and did greatā€”curious but polite. With a dog-savvy cat, he could do well in a home that includes feline friends.

When it comes to humans, Franklin is more selective. Small children under five terrify him, and he will run and hide. Older, calm, and quiet kids are okay, though his jumpy excitement might make him better suited for homes without toddlers.

Franklin loves going on walks and exploring the world on a leash, sniffing everything in sight. At home, heā€™s made huge progress when left alone. While he used to cry and scream, he now sits quietly in his crate and waits patiently for his people to return. That said, his excitement upon reuniting can sometimes lead to some vocal enthusiasm and playful mouthing.

Potty-trained and food-motivated, heā€™s goofy, affectionate, and loves playing fetch with toys or tennis balls in a securely fenced yard. Because Franklin is a door-bolter, his forever family will need to be experienced in preventing escapes and keeping him safe. Belly rubs are always welcome, and he adores snuggling with humans and other dogs alike. His playful personality includes evening zoomies and a heartwarming nightly routine: around 7:30, heā€™ll curl up with anyoneā€”human or dogā€”for a cuddle session before settling in his kennel for bed.

Franklin does have some special considerations due to a ventricular septal defect (VSD). Despite his grade 4 heart murmur diagnosis, cardiologists say he can live a normal life with yearly monitoring. He should avoid overheating but otherwise can enjoy regular activity like any healthy dog.

If youā€™re ready to give Franklin the loving, patient home he deserves, visit www.savingshibas.com/adopt to apply and start the process of meeting this sweet, silly boy. Franklin is eager to find his forever familyā€”maybe itā€™s you!

Hi there! My name is Fido, and Iā€™m on the lookout for my forever home. Iā€™m a sweet 6-year-old girl, weighing 25 lbs. I came to my foster home in Jonesburg, MO, after the commercial breeding facility I lived in closed down. Life there was hard, and I was really scared of humans at first, but my foster family is kind, and Iā€™m starting to feel braver.

At first, Iā€™d hide in the corner, but now I donā€™t run away when my foster family comes near.Iā€™m still a bit skittish, especially with loud noises and sudden movements, and Iā€™m not too comfortable going outside on my own, so my foster family carries me. Iā€™ve tried leash walking, but itā€™s not for me. Still, Iā€™m a good girlā€”potty trained, spayed, and vaccinated. Iā€™m quiet, and when Iā€™m inside, I hang out in my kennel on my own. I get along with all the dogs and donā€™t bother the cats.

My perfect forever home would be with a patient family who has experience with shy dogs. Iā€™ll need a securely fenced yard and another nice dog to help me feel safe. My family should be careful with doors because I might bolt if Iā€™m spooked. Iā€™d thrive in a quiet, adults-only home with no shared walls, as Iā€™m easily startled.

Can I share a little dream of mine? Iā€™d love to be adopted with my son Mortyā€”that would be a dream come true!

If you live in the Midwest and want to open your heart to a sweet, shy girl like me, visit www.savingshibas.com/adopt to apply. Once approved, SIRA will connect you with my foster mom so we can meet!

Patient quiet home

I'm Drake, your go-to adventure buddy! At 5 years old and 30 lbs, I'm ready to explore the great outdoors with you. From walks to hikes, count me in! Transitioning from a commercial breeding facility to my foster home in Machesney Park, IL, has been eye-opening. I adore neck scritches and solving food puzzlesā€”proof of my cleverness!

While loud noises still startle me, I'm learning to trust humans. I'm independent but seek comfort during thunderstorms or when hungry. I'm cool with fellow furry friends, though I may guard high-value treats. A patient and calm forever home with a laid-back dog companion sounds ideal for me.

Although small pets and little kids aren't my cup of tea, I'm healthy, neutered, and vaccinated. So, if you're in the Midwest and craving outdoor adventures, let's connect at www.savingshibas.com/adopt. Can't wait to meet you! šŸ¾

Hi there! Iā€™m Akika, a 4-year-old, 20 lb. bundle of fun, and Iā€™m on the hunt for my forever home! I may be a bit shy at first, but once I warm up, Iā€™m the sweetest, silliest girl around. I came to my foster home in Jonesburg, MO, from a commercial breeding facility, and now that my pups are grown, Iā€™m ready for my own family!

Iā€™ve got the typical Shiba spiritā€”full of opinions and not afraid to share them. I can be cautious with new people, but once I trust you, Iā€™ll be running up for all the love and attention! I love playing with toys and other dogs, and though I sometimes try to chase the cat here, I mostly leave him alone. Iā€™ve even lived with kids and did great!

Iā€™m learning to walk on a leash, though I can be a bit stubborn (hey, itā€™s a Shiba thing!). Iā€™m also potty-trained and do well in my kennel when my foster family isnā€™t home. The vet says that I have a luxating patella (loose kneecap) in one of my knees, but it doesnā€™t bother me and itā€™s not serious enough (grade 2) to need surgery at this time. But itā€™s something to watch as I get older.

My ideal forever home would have another dog for me to play with and patient humans who understand it might take me some time to trust. A house with no shared walls would be best since I can be vocal. I have a mild luxating patella, but it doesnā€™t slow me down!

If you live in the Midwest and want a fun, happy companion, visit www.savingshibas.com/adopt to apply. Letā€™s meet soon!

I'm Foxie Girl, a 7-year-old, 32-pound sweetheart looking for my forever home. I spent my early years in a commercial breeding facility, where humans were scary. Now, I'm in a loving foster home in Jonesburg, MO, learning to trust and enjoy life.

I'm shy, but with the kindness and patience of my foster parents, I'm starting to relax and show my true self. I love exploring the fenced yard and playing with the other dogs hereā€”they make me feel safe. I'm even okay with the resident cats and learning to walk on a leash!

I'm looking for a forever home with a securely fenced yard and a resident dog to help me adjust. Cats are fine, but no small kids, pleaseā€”they're a bit too much for me. Health-wise, I'm spayed, vaccinated, and have a grade 2 heart murmur, which doesnā€™t need treatment.

Have another dog in home

I'm Waylon, a 1-year-old bundle of love weighing 29 lbs. Originally from a commercial breeding facility, I'm now in Jonesburg, MO, seeking my forever home. I'm affectionate and playfulā€”always eager for attention and cuddles. You'll often find me running around with blankets or towels, my favorite playthings.

While I enjoy my alone time in the kennel, I'm still in my chew-everything phase, so supervision is key. I'm smart and motivated by food, making training a breeze. Though I love fenced yard play, I'm ready for long walks exploring the world.

Ideally, my forever home would include an active dog companion. While I haven't met human kids, I'm likely to enjoy their company, though I may accidentally knock over little ones. Cats, on the other hand, are a no-go.

Neutered and vaccinated, I'm ready for adventures with my new best friend. If you're in the Midwest and seeking a fun, lovable companion, visit www.savingshibas.com/adopt to start the adoption process. Let's meet soon! šŸ¾

Meet Penny: A Sweet and Shy Soul Looking for Her Forever Home. Currently fostered in Davenport, IA

Penny is a 3-year-old, 18-pound Shiba Inu whoā€™s as unique as she is adorable! While sheā€™s still learning to embrace the world around her, Penny has a gentle heart and loves being part of the packā€”especially if it includes other dogs.

šŸŒ§ļø Rain Lover Extraordinaire šŸŒ§ļø
Penny isnā€™t your typical dog who loves lounging in the backyard. Sheā€™s all business when it comes to potty breaks, heading back inside quicklyā€”unless itā€™s raining! For reasons only she knows, Penny enjoys the rain and will happily linger outside longer than usual. While baths arenā€™t her favorite, she seems to find something magical about those rainy days.

šŸ¾ Walking Buddy in the Making šŸ¾
Penny enjoys quiet walks at parks or on trails but can get a little nervous near busy streets. With patience and positive experiences, sheā€™s sure to grow more confident on her leash adventures.

šŸ” House Manners šŸ”
This girl is fully house-trained and has excellent indoor manners. Whether sheā€™s enjoying free run of the house or curling up in bed with her humans, Penny sleeps peacefully through the night. Sheā€™s also comfortable in her kennel when needed.

šŸ‘¶ Shy Around Little Ones šŸ‘¶
Penny can be skittish around children, especially younger ones. A calm and quiet home without young kids would be ideal for her as she builds trust with her forever family.

šŸ• Dog-Loving Sweetheart šŸ•
Penny adores other dogs and lights up when sheā€™s around them. Sheā€™d do wonderfully in a home with a confident resident dog to help her feel at ease. She hasnā€™t been tested with cats, her cautious nature around small animals like squirrels suggests sheā€™d likely prefer a home without feline friends.

Penny is a healthy, spayed, and vaccinated girl whoā€™s ready to find a patient, loving home that will give her the time and understanding she needs to blossom. If youā€™re looking for a gentle soul to share your life withā€”and donā€™t mind a little rainā€”you just might be Pennyā€™s perfect match!

Ready to meet Penny? Visit www.savingshibas.com/adopt to learn more and apply to adopt her. Letā€™s make this sweet girlā€™s dreams come true!

Hi, Iā€™m Lindy, a 6-year-old, 20-pound love bug looking for my forever home! Iā€™m goofy, friendly, and thrilled to leave my past as a puppy mom behind. Now, Iā€™m all about soaking up attention, playing with other dogs, and loving on my foster family here in Troy, MO.

Iā€™m healthy, spayed, and vaccinated, and I adore little kidsā€”they give the best pets and treats! Iā€™m also leash-trained, though sometimes traffic sounds make me nervous. Iā€™m great in my crate and almost fully potty-trained (a routine will help me settle in). I even figured out how to dig under the fence to make new dog friends, so my forever family will need to keep an eye on me in the yard and around doors!

My ideal home has patient humans, maybe another dog or kids to play with, and doesnā€™t share walls (I can be chatty!). If youā€™re in the Midwest and want a silly, happy girl to bring joy to your days, visit savingshibas.com/adopt to apply!
