Hi there, I’m Carlee!

I’m a 7-year-old Shiba Inu with a big smile and an even bigger heart, ready to find my forever home! I’m currently living my best foster life in Jonesburg, MO, where I’ve discovered the pure joy of a big, fenced yard. It’s my personal racetrack—I’m the queen of zoomies!

While I’m still learning to fully trust humans, I’m making great progress every day. Couch cuddles? Yes, please! I’m warming up to the good life, but I’d thrive in a patient, quiet home where I can settle in at my own pace.

I’d love to have another dog in my forever home—other pups make me feel safe and help me adjust. Cats are cool, but no small kiddos for me, please—they’re just a bit too overwhelming for my style.

I’m spayed, vaccinated, healthy, and ready for my Midwest adventure! If you’ve got a cozy home with a yard to explore and room in your heart for a sweet Shiba girl like me, visit www.savingshibas.com to learn more and apply.

Can’t wait to meet you!

Tail wags and smiles,
Carlee 🐾

🌟 Meet Nagi — Your Loyal Sidekick & Adventure Buddy! 🌟

Hi there! I’m Nagi, a 6-year-old, 46-lb lovebug from Avon, IN, and I’m on the lookout for my forever family. I may be a big boy, but that just means there’s more of me to love! ❤️

I’m a people-pleaser through and through — if you’re happy, I’m happy. If you’re sad, I’ll be right there to comfort you. Snuggles? Walks? Adventures? Count me in! I love spending time with my humans and being part of the action.

I get along well with other dogs, though I like to stand my ground if someone gets too bossy 🙄. I’m also a pro bunny chaser, so a securely fenced yard is a must, and I shouldn’t live with cats or other small pets — my prey drive is strong!

When it’s time to go for walks, I’m all enthusiasm (maybe a little too much — foster dad says I could work on my leash manners 😅). I’m crate-trained for when my people are away, but I prefer to stick close when they’re home.

I’d do best in a home with a yard, no shared walls (I have a great bark), and a family ready for a loyal best friend who’ll be by your side through thick and thin.

I’m house-trained, neutered, vaccinated, and ready to start our adventures together! 🐾

👉 If you live in the Midwest and think we’d make a great team, apply to adopt me through SIRA at www.savingshibas.com/adopt
Once approved, you’ll get to meet me and my awesome foster family!

💅 Meet Faye: 46 lbs of Sass, Smarts, and Shiba Stubbornness 💅

Hey there, I’m Faye – a bold and beautiful 3-year-old redhead looking for my forever home! I’m currently holding court in Machesney Park, IL, where I’m dazzling my foster family with my ample charm and legendary stubborn streak.

✨ I’m 46 lbs of fabulous – think Lizzo with fur, minus the glitter but definitely not the attitude.
✨ I’m a retired mama from a commercial breeding facility, now living the good life as I learn about homes, humans, and how to be the boss lady I was born to be.

🛋️ House life? I’ve got it handled.
No potty accidents. No destruction. No chaos. I’m basically perfect… until you ask me to go somewhere I don’t want to. My signature move? The deadweight flop. Harness and leash? Nope. Not happening. I will become one with the floor. Foster dad has nicknamed me “The Land Whale” and honestly… I’m not even mad about it. 😌

😎 Other pets & humans?
I mostly ignore the other dogs and the tiny human here. But the 13-year-old human girl? She’s pretty cool. I like her vibe.
Foster mom gets some respect too. Foster dad? He’s trying real hard and I admire the effort. 😂

🐕‍🦺 What I need in my forever home:

A securely fenced yard – because me + leash = dramatic protest.

Patience, understanding, and the ability to let me come to you for affection.

Bonus points if you find me hilarious and are ready to adore my diva ways.

Dogs, kids, maybe even cats? Sure – as long as they respect the queen.

🩺 I’m overall healthy although I do have medicine I take like a champ for my liver, spayed, vaccinated, and ready to grace your home with my glorious presence.

So, if you live in the Midwest and think you’re ready for the full Faye experience, visit www.savingshibas.com/adopt to apply and become an approved SIRA adopter. Once approved, they’ll hook you up with my foster fam so we can meet.

Long live the Land Whale. 🐋👑

Hi there! My name is Fido, and I’m on the lookout for my forever home. I’m a sweet 6-year-old girl, weighing 25 lbs. I came to my foster home in Jonesburg, MO, after the commercial breeding facility I lived in closed down. Life there was hard, and I was really scared of humans at first, but my foster family is kind, and I’m starting to feel braver.

At first, I’d hide in the corner, but now I don’t run away when my foster family comes near. I’m still a bit skittish, especially with loud noises and sudden movements, and I’m not too comfortable going outside on my own, so my foster family carries me. I’ve tried leash walking, but it’s not for me. Still, I’m a good girl—potty trained, spayed, and vaccinated. I’m quiet, and when I’m inside, I hang out in my kennel on my own. I get along with all the dogs and don’t bother the cats.

My perfect forever home would be with a patient family who has experience with shy dogs. I’ll need a securely fenced yard and another nice dog to help me feel safe. My family should be careful with doors because I might bolt if I’m spooked. I’d thrive in a quiet, adults-only home with no shared walls, as I’m easily startled.

If you live in the Midwest and want to open your heart to a sweet, shy girl like me, visit www.savingshibas.com/adopt to apply. Once approved, SIRA will connect you with my foster mom so we can meet!

Meet Sammy – Belly Rub Enthusiast, Bunny Chaser, and Forever Home Seeker! 🐾

Hi! I’m Sammy, a sweet, goofy, and clever 7-year-old Shiba boy living in Munster, IN, and I’m on the lookout for my forever home!

I spent most of my life in a commercial breeding facility making puppies—but now I’m learning what it means to be a beloved pet, and wow… belly rubs are the BEST. Once I realized humans give those, I started following them everywhere!

💬 A little about me:
• I’m 30 lbs, healthy, neutered, and vaccinated
• I’m potty trained and walk well on leash (with a bit more practice, I’ll be a pro!)
• I love other dogs and playing outside
• I can entertain myself for hours with my squeaky ball
• I get anxious if left completely alone—but other dogs help keep me calm
• I haven’t met any kids yet, so we’re not sure how I’d do with little ones
• I’m not a good match for homes with cats or small pets—I’ve got a strong prey drive and have caught a few bunnies in the yard! 🐇

My foster dad says I’m a little bossy sometimes with the other dogs, but I play well and listen when reminded.

🛑 My forever family should:
• Have experience with escape-artist Shibas (yep, that’s me!)
• Be extra cautious with open doors, gates, and fences
• Ideally have a securely fenced yard and maybe a doggy buddy for me—but it’s not required
• Be okay with my slightly loose kneecaps (my vet says no surgery needed!)

If you live in the Midwest and want a loyal, affectionate, and playful boy to share life’s adventures with (and hand out belly rubs, of course), visit www.savingshibas.com to apply to become an approved SIRA adopter.

Once approved, SIRA will introduce you to my foster dad so we can meet. I can’t wait to see what love really looks like.

With tail wags,
Sammy 🐕

🐾 Paddington – Your New Adventure Buddy! 🎉
Fostered in Jonesburg, MO
Meet Paddington – a 1-year-old, 25-pound bundle of enthusiasm, affection, and zoomies!

💥 High-Octane Love Machine
Paddington doesn’t just love – he launches into it. This boy came from a commercial breeding facility, but you’d never guess it. Reserved and aloof? Not Paddington. He’s outgoing, goofy, and convinced every human and pup he meets is his new BFF.

🐶 Play Hard, Snuggle Harder
Play is Paddington’s favorite thing, and he plays big. He’d thrive in a home with another young, energetic dog to wrestle and romp with. Older or more reserved pups might find him a bit overwhelming. Once he’s burned off some steam, though, he turns into a total cuddlebug. Expect full-body snuggles and all the kisses.

🐱 Cats & Kiddos
Paddington loves to chase cats—not to harm them, just to play! That said, most cats (and small pets) would prefer he didn’t. A very dog-savvy cat might handle him, but in general, a feline-free home is probably best. He hasn’t met young children, but he’s so enthusiastic that he might accidentally knock them over with his happy hops. Older, dog-savvy kids? He’d probably adore them.

🚶 Smart, Active, and Learning Fast
Paddington is already house-trained and sleeps in his crate like a champ when his foster mom is out. He’s learning leash manners and doing a great job! He’s a smart cookie who’s eager to please—and to play, of course.

💪 Healthy and Ready to Go!
This handsome guy is neutered, vaccinated, and vet-approved, after thorough checkups, he's been given a clean bill of health. He’s strong, thriving, and ready for his next chapter.

🏡 Perfect Home?
An active household with lots of love, time, and a playful dog buddy. Someone who enjoys adventures, tug-of-war, and couch cuddles. Bonus points if you have a backyard for zoomies and a good toy stash!

💌 Ready to let Paddington bounce into your heart?
👉 Visit www.savingshibas.com/adopt to apply and become an approved SIRA adopter and if approved, you’ll be introduced to his foster mom to set up a meet-and-greet!

Let Paddington bring the fun—and the snuggles—into your life. 🐾💖

Meet Jewel – A Gentle Soul Searching for Peace and Safety 💎

Jewel is a quiet 6-year-old Shiba Inu who’s learning how sweet life can be after leaving behind the harsh world of commercial breeding. Now safe in her foster home in Jonesburg, MO, Jewel is starting to discover the joys of freedom, safety, and soft beds.

At 28 lbs, she’s a calm, well-mannered girl who adores the company of other dogs. They give her confidence and help her feel secure. People? She’s still learning to trust us—but when no one’s watching, Jewel lets her playful side peek through. She’s not the cuddly type (yet), but she’s a sweet presence and a quiet companion.

She’s content around cats, does just fine when left alone, and is completely house-trained. Jewel had a rough time with anesthesia during her spay, so her forever home should avoid any future procedures unless absolutely necessary. Otherwise, she’s healthy, spayed, and vaccinated.

Jewel’s ideal home includes:
✅ A calm, adult-only environment
✅ Another friendly dog for companionship
✅ A securely fenced yard
✅ Patient people who understand shy dogs
✅ No shared walls or noisy environments

Jewel wouldn’t be comfortable with:
🚫 Children (they're too unpredictable for her comfort)
🚫 Loud homes or first-time dog owners without experience with fearful dogs

If you live in the Midwest and believe every dog deserves a second chance at peace, Jewel may be your perfect match. Visit www.savingshibas.com/adopt to apply and take the first step toward giving this beautiful girl the quiet, loving home she deserves.

Meet Kita – A Quiet Soul Looking for Her Safe Haven

Kita is an 8-year-old Shiba Inu with a beautiful coat and a brave heart. Her past wasn’t easy—she came from a tough situation and learned early on that humans aren’t always kind. Because of that, she’s wary of people, but we don’t blame her one bit.

Despite her fears, Kita is a smart, quiet, and well-mannered girl. She’s a polite house guest, totally house-trained, and lives peacefully with the cats in her foster home. Her favorite things? Soaking up the sun in the yard and sneaking in some playtime with the other dogs when she thinks no one’s watching. And cheese. Kita loves cheese.

She enjoys calm walks with her doggy companions and does best when she’s not the center of attention. She may never be a cuddler, but she deserves a home where she’s respected for who she is—a quiet, gentle survivor.

Kita’s ideal home will have:
✅ A securely fenced yard
✅ Another calm, confident dog or two
✅ Patient, understanding humans
✅ A peaceful, predictable environment
(No young kids, please—they’re just too scary)

Kita’s not a match for:
🚫 Homes with small children
🚫 First-time dog owners or those unfamiliar with mill survivor behavior

Kita is spayed, vaccinated, and currently being fostered in Des Moines, IA. If you believe love comes in many forms—and that trust is something earned—Kita just might be your kind of dog.

My name is Mr. Clean and I’m looking for my forever home. Why am I named after a bald guy? Well, I came to SIRA after I was found lying in mud on the side of the road, emaciated and bald from a severe flea infestation. I was in bad shape. X-rays showed metal and food wrappers in my tummy – I was starving! My ears were infected and I was very anemic. But once I was found - and got good food and vet care - things got much better! My fur started growing back and my ears healed. And I gained weight–I’m about 28 pounds now. I am being fostered north of Columbus, OH. SIRA thinks I’m about 10 y.o. I’m great with other dogs and I love cuddling with my people. Yep, you heard right. I’m a “fake Shiba” since I love to snuggle. My foster family was told that I may have a bad disc in my back and something going on with my hips, but so far, nothing slows me down. I spin and dance my way through the house! After potty breaks, I get the most exquisite zoomies. I pirouette, fling myself on the couch, and dance around the whole house. I love going on leash walks, getting treats and belly rubs, and perching on my favorite chair. I’ll happily tell you off if you’re too slow to take me outside or not sharing your treats with me. I am fully house trained and I do fine when my foster family has to leave the house. Now that I’ve beaten the odds, the only thing I need is a forever family. My perfect forever home will have a nice comfy spot with a sunbeam to nap in and someone who will let me sit in their lap and give me a rub-down. If there’s another nice dog, that would be great, but I’d probably do fine as an only dog as long as you spend time with me. I’d do best with a securely fenced yard, but also enjoy leash walks. I haven’t lived with children, cats or small pets, so I don’t know how I’d be with them. But I'm neutered and vaccinated and ready to go! If you live in the Midwest and want to give my “rags to riches” story its happy ending, I promise I’ll be your fun, smart, spunky very best buddy. Visit www.savingshibas.com/adopt to apply to become an approved SIRA adopter. The application process helps SIRA learn more about you to make sure we’ll be a good match. Once approved, SIRA will introduce you to my foster mom so we can meet. I would love that!

Meet Foxie Girl – A Shy Beauty with a Gentle Soul

Foxie Girl is a 7-year-old, 32-pound Shiba with a heart as tender as her name suggests. After spending her early years in a commercial breeding facility, she’s now safe in a foster home in Jonesburg, MO, where she's slowly discovering what it means to be loved.

She’s still shy around humans, but every day brings new steps forward. With calm voices, gentle routines, and the steady presence of other dogs, Foxie is beginning to relax and show her sweet personality. Her favorite activities include exploring the fenced yard, quietly observing the world, and sticking close to her canine companions.

Foxie does best in a home with:

A securely fenced yard

At least one friendly, confident dog

No small children (they’re a little too much for her right now)

Patient humans who understand that trust takes time

She’s fine with cats and is even getting the hang of leash walks! Foxie is spayed, vaccinated, and has a low-grade heart murmur (Grade 2) that doesn't require treatment.

If you live in the Midwest and can offer this lovely girl the quiet, loving home she deserves, visit www.savingshibas.com/adopt to apply. Once approved, SIRA will connect you with her foster mom to set up a meet-and-greet.

Foxie Girl is ready for a life filled with safety, kindness, and peace. Could she be the missing piece in your heart?

Meet Brad – A Gentle Soul with a Melty Gaze 🐾

Brad is a 9-year-old, 34-pound sweetheart who’s ready to trade in his past life as a commercial breeding dog for one filled with belly rubs, soft beds, and quiet companionship. He’s currently learning what it means to be loved in his foster home in Machesney Park, IL, and he’s already proving to be one of the goodest boys.

🐶 Calm, Kind, and Curious
Brad may be a little cautious at first, but his sweet, trusting nature always shines through. On his very first day, he surprised his foster dad by walking right up, looking into his eyes, and asking for a gentle hello. (Yes, foster dad totally melted.)

He’s a polite houseguest—no accidents, no mischief, just a calm presence that follows his people around and asks for affection with the softest little boop. Sit still long enough, and Brad will appear at your side, asking for head scritches and offering his soulful eyes as a thank you.

🐕 Good with Dogs & Respectful with Kids
Brad gets along well with the other dogs in his foster home. He’s also been great with the resident kids—if the toddler gets a bit too loud, Brad simply finds a quiet spot to hang out. He especially enjoys spending time near the calm, older child while she does homework.

🏡 Brad’s Perfect Home
This easy-going guy would thrive in a calm, quiet household with a securely fenced yard. He’s still getting the hang of leash walking, so yard access is a must for now. He’d enjoy the company of other friendly dogs and is likely fine with cat-savvy cats. Like many Shibas, Brad is curious and quick—so you’ll need to be mindful around open doors and gates.

💉 Brad is neutered, vaccinated, healthy, and full of love—he just needs a patient and gentle family to show him the good life.

If you live in the Midwest and want a sweet, calm, heart-melting companion, visit www.savingshibas.com/adopt to apply and become an approved SIRA adopter. The application helps SIRA make sure you and Brad are the perfect fit. Once approved, you’ll get to meet this lovely gentleman in person.

Brad is ready to boop your heart wide open. 💛
