Friends, Not one single inquiry has come in for Kali 😔 We know it's a busy time of year but we're hoping you all can take the time to hit your share button to help us reach Kali's adopter to be! 🙏Thanks for your shares!

"My name is Kali and I need a new home! I am a 13 year old dachshund mix. At 16 pounds, I'd like to think I'm the perfect size for a lap, or a spot on your couch. I don't take much room up in the bed either! I am a very snuggly, loving girl who just wants to be the one and only in my home.

I do not appreciate the children that have joined my lifelong family. Kids are just too unpredictable and I feel as though I need to protect myself. I have spent my life living without other animals. When I see dogs on walks, I'll admit, I act up. Even when my people tried to introduce me to other dogs, I didn't like it. So if you have a home without dogs, cats or kids, and you are looking for a companion, we just might be a good match!

My people will tell you I am not much of a barker. I will let you know when the doorbell rights-IF I hear it. My hearing and vision aren't as sharp as they were when I was a youngster. But that's to be expected, just like the arthritis I have. My people give me joint support to help with my arthritis, I appreciate that and I hope my new family will continue to do this for me. As a senior girl, it is very important that I receive regular veterinary care and good quality dog food to stay in good health. I'd love to be someone's best friend for many years to come!

At this time I don't get out for walks much. My people do take me out on leash for potty breaks. If you have a fenced yard where I can go out to relieve myself, that's great! I am up for more walks, are you?? Maybe we can work on my behavior if we come across another dog? It'd be nice to learn that I don't have to scare off other dogs and protect you from them!

I can stay alone in the house for a bit before I need a potty break. But if you have to leave me longer than 2-3 hours, I can use a potty pad. I will find a spot on your bed or your couch to hang out on and wait for your return. Because of the children in my current home, I'm being kept alone behind a gate. This is not fun at all. I am longing for a home with adults who can appreciate all of the love I can offer. My people will be sad to let me go but they know it's the best thing for me, to make me happy again. I am ready to start the next chapter of my new life!"

Kali is located in Snoqualmie, WA. For contact information please email: [email protected]

This is a courtesy post. Kali is not an Old Dog Haven dog. We urge prospective adopters to do their own evaluation.

Zoey is a lovable, 97 pound Malamute mix that is just about 8 years old. She is affectionate and enjoys attention and pets! Zoey enjoys meeting new people and will greet you with some “woo’s” to let you know that she is thrilled to see you!

Zoey enjoys going on walks and trail hikes, however is starting to show signs of arthritis so will need to take it easy. She rides well in the car which will make it easy to bring her along on adventures! She is friendly with other dogs and may enjoy a companion, or would be fine as your one and only.

Zoey is a fantastic girl that would love to settle into her furever home! Zoey is located in W. WA. state. She is posted for the Washington Alaskan Malamute Adoption League (WAMA). Questions/Contact: [email protected] Potential adopters must live in Washington state or Oregon. More information on adopting is found at the WAMAL website here: www.WAMAL.com

Remus is a SUPER DOG! We can't believe he's still in need of an adoptive home. We are committed to sharing Remus for the Washington Alaskan Malamute Adoption League - WAMAL until he finds a home! Will you please join us?

Remus is an 89 pound Alaskan Malamute who is estimated to be about 8 years old. He is ready for you to come meet him today! This good boy is described as very friendly and was a shelter favorite before coming to rescue.

Remus is a sweet and friendly 8 year old senior Malamute that is ready to join his furever home! He likes being out exploring, but has some hip issues so short walks are his preference. He takes treats gently, is leash trained and loves a cozy dog bed. He would like a yard to lay about and relax in, and enjoys playing with his toys.

He gets along with other mellow dogs of similar energy level, or would be fine being your one and only. Remus can't wait to welcome all of the love and pets that await him from his forever family!

Remus is posted for WAMAL- Washington Malamute Adoption League of Seattle, WA. He is located in Puyallup, WA. If you are interested in adopting Remus, please visit their website

ADOPTED

Meet Habibi! His name means "my love" and how appropriate for a fellow who is ready for a lifelong commitment. Habibi was adopted last in January of 2020. Through no fault of his own, Habibi is once again in need of an adoptive home. This time, Habibi deserves a true forever home. Let's help him find it!

Habibi is guessed to be between 8 and 9 years old. His breed mix appears to be boston terrier and bulldog mix. Whatever the mix is, it sure is a handsome one, isn't it? Habibi weighs 45 pounds. He's a cuddler and a crooner when his owner plays the harmonica!

Since being adopted a little over 2 years ago, Habibi has lived life as an only animal. We are told when his adopters met him at the shelter, he was surrounded by other dogs and he didn't seem to care. Since then he only exhibits excitement when he sees other animals. This leads us to believe with proper introductions, Habibi could possibly live with another dog. Potential adopters would need to work with his current owners on a meet and greet in a neutral location and then work on proper introductions to make Habibi's integration into his new home successful. Who knows? Perhaps this dear boy has lived with other dogs in the past and his excitement over seeing other dogs is just that-happy to see his kind?!

While Habibi has been observed around kids, they have been children old enough to know to be gentle and respectful of dogs. We are told Habibi LOVES people. He is very happy for time to cuddle in bed with his humans before going to his crate for the night but the door is left open for him.

Habibi goes for multiple short walks a day, appreciating any "bonus" walks that are longer. He has been known to pull on leash but will listen to the command "back" and wait for his owner to catch up to him. Habibi sounds like a very smart boy who has a lot to give and really wants to please his people.

Described as being not much of a barker, Habibi will bark when he sees other dogs and animals. He has been fine to stay alone for quite awhile inside the house without incident when his people leave the house. He can manage stairs. Habibi has been taking a medication (Apoquel) for what is described as "nervous itching". His adopters should be able to provide him with vet care and continuation of this medication if needed as prescribed by a veterinarian.

Habibi is located in Bellingham, WA. He is waiting for his forever family! If you are ready to make that commitment, please email: [email protected] for contact information.

10 year old Pierre is a long-haired Chihuahua who weighs 11 pounds. Pierre is a delightful gentleman who is dreaming of a forever family. He loves people and is happy as long as he can find a cozy spot where he can relax and enjoy the world around him. Pierre would enjoy a home where he isn't left alone for a long work day. He barks when he hears a strange noise or sees people walking by his home so apartment life is not for him.

Pierre has impeccable house manners. He is crate trained and he is housebroken. Pierre is a tender hearted soul who will be happiest in a home that is calm and predictable. He is not comfortable around other dogs; his rescuers are looking for a home without other animals. Because of the quick and unpredictable nature of children, Pierre needs a home without children.

Pierre is posted for Save-A-Mutt Rescue. He is being fostered in Snohomish County, WA. For more information about Pierre, please submit a Save-A-Mutt adoption application. Adoption applications can be found at www.save-a-mutt.org.

UPDATE: Old Dog Haven Home FOUND!!

PERMANENT Old Dog Haven FOSTER HOME FOUND!!
PERHAPS HOSPICE (in W. Washington state or Portland, OR only):

Very very cute maltese/yorkie, neutered male who weighs 10 pounds. He is diabetic and may have Cushings (which may complicate treating either). He came into shelter when owner was hospitalized and was unable to take him back. He has been on insulin but that is difficult to do in a shelter environment. He is still somewhat visual, he has dry eye and will need eye drops as well as insulin. He sounds like a great dog, likes laps and being carried but also enjoys going on trots around outside - his visual impairment sometimes makes hm fearful - and loves squeaky toys. We don't know how long he will have, and he will need twice-daily insulin injections plus eye care and probably a good deal of monitoring/vet visits. He really needs a home that can care for him!

This fellow needs a committed forever foster home. As an Old Dog Haven dog (once we find a home to send him to), all of his vet bills, insulin, etc, will be paid for by our organization! If you are willing and able to open your home and heart to this boy, he needs you! Please read through the link below and contact us ASAP.

"Hey everyone! My name is Knuckles and I am about 9 years old. My foster mom calls me Teddy Bear...well... because I look like a little Teddy Bear! I am a pug mix...we were told pug/yorkie and that may be right...I definitely have some sort of terrier in me!

I came into the pug rescue in very bad shape dental and emotional wise. All my teeth got pulled and now I have no teeth. The vet told me it was one of the worst dental cases they have ever seen. I was in so much pain I was shut off. I didn’t like to be touched, stayed in my kennel and I had bathroom accidents in the house. I was in so much pain and scared.

But you guys, the best thing happened! Once I had my surgery, I started opening up. I snuggle in mornings, I give kisses, I never go in my kennel, I also go to the bathroom outside. I have such a zest for life now! I love car rides and follow the leader ( you are the leader.) I am quite spry and can jump on and off furniture and I love a good walk! I have a foster brother who is pretty chill so I would do well with another chill dog, but a young one may be too much for me.

What you won’t get with me is a super playful dog right away. It will take some time for me to open up and show love. But what you will get from me is the deepest love a dog can give once I feel comfortable. Everything seems so new and exciting now that I feel good about my future.

I wouldn’t like a house with small kids, some quick movements tend to scare me. I would love a home that has my future people home more so than not. I just really want to be part of the family and loved. I can’t wait to meet you my soon to be family. I am ready to start my new chapter!

XOXO,
Knuckles AKA Teddy Bear"

Knuckles is with Pacific Pug Rescue in Portland, Oregon. If you are interested in learning more please email [email protected]
