OMG!!…. 👀 Elf on the shelf has been having some sneaky cuddles with the Nicaraguan Scarlet baby … I can’t blame him, the baby is sooo cute, who could resist.

No sentient animal should live in a cage, especially intelligent macaws. The days of seed diets, clipped wings, and caged lives are over. Today, we embrace a new era of training, communication, and bonding—giving birds a fulfilling life beyond the aviary walls. It all starts with your breeder. Your breeder should be raising companion pets, not aviary birds, and desensitizing and socializing baby birds outside the walls of an aviary. As a free flight trainer, I advocate for more time outside of the cage and more meaningful time with family. This approach lets our birds thrive in ways nature intended.

Our student “Blu” is a spectacular Catalina breed by Tracey Macaws Australia - Blu is a very big parent started baby. His free flight training started with the Tracy who harness trained and socialised at an early stage. Better still he is recall trained.
