A day in the village with the dog rangers.... 🐾🚲🐶

some dogs we have seen today...

Princess has been hit by a car, and the car took some of the skin off her right front paw... First visit today..

Lucky was also hit by a car a few days back. She was bruised and in pain. But feels much better now...

Sniper had a really bad maggot ear wound. But it is almost healed now... We have been using the amazing new cream to Care For Natural African Beauty Foundation with really good fast results!

Yiri had a visit from our rangers. She has completely recovered from Parvo, and also gained weight.

Kanja had wounds on both ears, one has dried up and the other is on its way!

Dragon was also treated today. his ear wound had maggots, which was removed and treatment given...

Every week we keep track of how many dogs we have seen, their issues and when to follow up next. This week we have seen 51 dogs in total.

Ear wounds are most common, and total 23 dogs have had their ear wounds treated. 6 dogs had other wounds. These are often caused by dog fights, and on the back, neck and head. Two dogs are at the final stage recovering from maggot infestation.
We had 12 dogs with mango worms. 6 dogs with skin issues.
The rest of the dogs had other problems…

During all visits, the owners are involved and advice are given on how to keep their dog healthy...

Pups and Paws Prevention CIC in UK is doing a fantastic job raising money to various animal welfare organisations. They do that through selling fairly traded and plastic free products at markets, festivals etc. 100 per cent of all surplus profits from sales donated to charity partners! 👏 And we are lucky to be one of their selected partners! 🙏🐾 Check out their page!

The battle against the mango worms... 😕 Today the team met Oneman. He has been struggling with a lot of mango worms, all over his body. The last few days he lost a lot of weight and changed behaviour due to the sever pain he was going through… it took a long time to remove the worms, but hopefully he will recover fast after being treated. We will check in on him the next couple of days... 🐾☺️

Remember Chat? She gave birth to 11 puppies end of January and belongs to Ousainou, one of the members of Gunjur Dog Patrol Kids Club. 🐾🐶

We check in on them regularly and can report they are doing very well. Chat is a good mum and protect her puppies. Due to her many puppies, and that she sometimes were running low of milk, we gave Chat puppy powder milk to make sure there was enough milk for them all. Thanks Myrthe & Check-a-Pet for the donation! The puppies are in their 7th week and they are all looking healthy. 😊👍

Mummy & Puppies was one of the topics on our Dog Club in January, and it is easy to see Ousainou is following advice! Well done, Ousainou! 😊👍

We are so lucky to have Veterinary Rosie Beadsmoore visiting us for ten days. 😃 She is spending time with our dog rangers, going out in the village with them to see dogs and helping us plan for future visits from vets. Thank you Rosie for sharing your knowledge and time. We are so looking forward to work with you! 😊🙏🐾

Tomorrow is raising awareness of the importance of neutering dogs to support healthy dog populations.
Gunjur Dog Patrol helps educate dog owners of the health and wellbeing benefits of neutering their dog and we hold regular clinics like this one where we we able to neuter 10 dogs in one day.
