So this last Saturday we did another competition and so far on a nice streak of walking away with a trophie every single one.

To do a cap:
Las Vegas competition 2nd place in fi****ms (first ever competition)

Second competition in Spokane
Hardest hitting for Recon
3rd place in explosive for Kesta

The newest competition and third competition we walked away with Five trophies!!!

Fan favorite - Recon
1st in protection and 1st in narcotic detection - Recon
1st in firearm detection - Avi
1st in explosive Detection - Kesta

I am beyond proud of these dogs and what they can do. I am definitely not stopping here either!!! We will continue to shine and build our team and be a hard team to beat! We will continue to try new techniques, train hard, and grow!

Calibur is part of this team as well. He is not ready to shine yet but we did try to get 1st in agility and he decided to be a puppy and just have fun. Which is fine. He had fun and I got good laughs watching him be a dork! We will continue to work towards our next step!

What is a basic handler school?

Learn how to do detection, bites, tracking and much much more.

This is great for people looking into getting their dogs trained for HDR or SARs work, police work, detections work, protection training, apprehension and more.

You will learn how to start a dog from green to finish, do aerial search, building search, vehicle search, Imprinting, tricks and tips for people working live, animal first aide, how odor works, why dogs are amazing at things that us humans can't even come close to.

Meet the Trainer!

My name is Shannon. I have extensive experience and knowledge throughout the dog/animal industry.

I started out as a young child rescuing and saving abused animals of all kinds, mostly dogs though! From there I started volunteering and learning from local trainers/groomers. Quickly learned grooming is not my thing! ( I sucked at it big time!!!)

I started volunteering at the local shelters walking and taking care of animals, going up to behavioral dogs, to working on the vet office and learning vet tech things for several years.

Then went to the wild side and help rescue, raise, train and work with wild wolves. (Best/fun experience)

I got to a point where I finally decided what I wanted to do which is work and train dogs! I started working for other trainers again, went to college got a career degree as a dog trainer, degree in animal psychology, getting all sorts of certifications like certified herm sprenger trainer, AKC Evaluator, ATT Evaluator, and much more.

Then I was introduced to the working canine side of things and have even grown much more! I joined ASCTI (American Society of Canine Trainers) learned how to be an handler and how to work dogs on a police officer level and more. Over a little more then 4 years have become a master trainer with ASCTI, professional member of IACP (International association of Canine Trainers) and also several more degrees in the works to be completed soon. Like being a CCAS (Canine conditioning athlete specialist), canine massage certification, holistic animal specialist, AND Pet Emergency education Instructor.

I care about providing the best to my clients and everyone around me. The only way I can do this is thru knowledge and experience. I will continue to learn and teach others what I know to help make the community and our animals be the best that they can be!!!

We may have oops a little! We were thinking today was the day that marked 2 years for our little Okami of Granite Mountain and it was actually February 6th!!!!

It's crazy to think she is already 2! Her and her brother grew up training a lot together and beating each other up every time we meet up together. Now her brother is off working along some great people and she got to stay here and become a bomb dog and help keep big events safe. This year will be her second year.

We still celebrate today with things we love to do. Some training in bomb detection and other fun training. Then off to Petco for some pampering of a groom and bath and got to pick out some awesome treats.

We walked away from training with an injury under the eye. We sent it a little too hard chasing a ball. Oops!!!

Thank you to Granite Mountain for giving me the chance to own, raise, train and work this crazy dog!

I think it's time to meet our next super dog! Some of our older followers know that we had a dog that was great for everything named Evo. We lost him in a horrible tragic way and took a huge hit not only on us but our community. Everyone loved him.

It took 2.5 years to finally make a choice in a new dog to help with everything. Welcome Calibur to the pack!!! He has been with us for almost a whole year now and just turned 1 couple weeks ago.

He will be a service dog, detection dog and a demo dog. It's a lot to put on a dog but both of his parents do it and make it look super easy and I have faith this guy will do the same.

Thru out his time he will get posted a million times on here. Sorry but not sorry!!! We love him dearly and has done many great things already!
