Snooty Bones for the Discerning Dog Owner is The Boston Metro Area's favorite site for organic dog treats. We feature the freshest, and in our opinion, the best ingredients anywhere in the nation, but most especially here in New England. We feature the following products in our organic dog treats:
-100% hard red wheat flour from The King Arthur's Flour Company founded in Norwich, VT in 1790 and is
100% employee owned. Like them at https://m.facebook.com/kingarthurflour?... Because we are a fledgling organization we are unable to use their gluten free, all- purpose flour at this time. We hope to use it in our product in the future but for now we prefer to keep costs to a minimum for our consumers. *Upon company growth, King Arthur's gluten free all-purose flour will be added to our products for those dogs who have allergies to wheat and it's by-products
- The Leavitt Corporation in Everett, MA provides our flavoring. It is Gluten Free, Non GMO, Vegan,and uses only the freshest dry roasted peanuts and regular table salt in the product we chose to use. Like them on Facebook!
- Hood's Skim Milk made fresh daily by farmers who pledge not to use artificial growth hormones (rBST) on their herds. We are proud to use these companies products and commend them for bringing you the freshest, most wholesome, and best foods made in American and in particular, the New England region. We would also like you to be aware that we do NOT use fillers or additivies to make more treats per baking time. Because of this, there are fewer treats per order but with MAXIMUM flavor and goodness for your pup or dog
As a result of our choice of ingredients for Snooty Bones, we can offer you, the dog owned by the Discerning Owner, a preservative -free product that stays fresh for up to 3-4 months without special care (though we suggest that you keep them in an airtight container or food storage bag after purchase to give you the maximum freshest taste for your special dog(s)). Please note that Snooty Bones freeze very well for up to 6 months, or for as long as I've been making this product. I assume they have the "potential" to be kept in the freezer for much longer than 6 months though I do not have the statistics available for that presumption right now. Packaging
In the past, commercial packaging has driven up the costs of Snooty Bones, to make them nearly cost prohibitive. I, the COE (Chief Of Everything) prefer to provide my consumers with a great tasting product and one that keeps well while providing the best tasting, freshest and healthy ingredients. Therefore, until such a day comes that I can once again provide commercial packaging and keep costs to a minimum so that my consumers can enjoy AND afford my product, they are shiipped in an airtight food storage bag completely sealed to keep all contaiminates at bay. At times, I have seen what I first thought was grease seepage in other types of packaging. I assure you, we do not use vegetable oil or any other type of oils in the product except natural peanut oil. That, is what I found to be the "greasy-looking" appearance in some treat packaging. This is a natural by-product from the real peanuts used to make the flavor most enticing for your best friend, your dog.
