Iris’s journey with Tiny Paws Rescue began in the most urgent and heartbreaking way. She and her companion, London, were brought to ACCT Philly after their beloved owner passed away. A concerned neighbor stepped in to ensure they didn’t face the streets but sadly, ACCT is an open-intake shelter that often faces tough decisions. Iris, with her massive mammary tumor, was labeled medically urgent, and her fate looked grim.
When Tiny Paws Rescue learned of Iris’s situation, we immediately planned to save her. But upon arrival, we discovered her deep bond with London, who was her unwavering support through all they’d endured. There was no question—we pulled them both to safety, vowing to give them the care and love they desperately needed. 💕
Iris was scheduled for surgery to remove her mammary masses, but about a week before, she began to decline. She stopped eating and seemed to lose her spark, leaving us gravely concerned. When surgery day arrived, her condition was touch and go, but we proceeded, knowing it was her best chance for relief.
During surgery, the vet could only safely remove the largest mass to improve her quality of life. The procedure was difficult, but Iris pulled through like the fighter she is. And now, in the comfort of her foster home with London by her side, she’s making an inspiring recovery.
Iris has regained her appetite and is eating like a champ! 🍲 While we’re hopeful she’ll recover enough for another surgery to remove the remaining masses, her journey isn’t without challenges. The cancer has spread, so Iris is now part of our Gizzy’s Gift Hospice Program, which focuses on providing love, comfort, and the best possible quality of life for dogs with chronic or terminal conditions.

Star, our tiny fighter, wants to send a big thank you to everyone who donated to her care! 🐾 Her entire Amazon wishlist has been fulfilled, and Tiny Paws Rescue has received generous donations to support her ongoing treatment.
This sweet girl continues to face challenges with her skin, but she’s receiving medicated baths and treatments that are helping her feel more comfortable. We’re determined to get her coat shining as brightly as her spirit! ✨
On a positive note, Star’s respiratory infection is improving every day. She’s gaining energy and showing off her playful side more and more. While her recovery journey is ongoing, she’s making steady progress.
Unfortunately, Star won’t be available for adoption for some time. She still has some healing to do and will need to be spayed once she’s fully back to her sparkling self. For now, she’s focused on getting stronger and healthier.

Lilly, a severely matted mother dog, and her three fragile puppies were surrendered to the shelter after already losing two of their siblings. The remaining puppies—Tabitha, Talula, and Celeste—are just six weeks old and heartbreakingly tiny, victims of severe neglect and malnutrition.Lilly, stripped of her ability to nurse, tried desperately to care for her babies, but her body simply couldn’t provide the nourishment they needed. Her once lush coat had to be shaved to the skin due to painful matting. Even now, her face, neck, and paws remain tangled, and she’s too distraught for a full grooming.The puppies are fighting with all they have. Tabitha, the strongest, shows promise, but Talula’s survival hangs by a thread—she has just a 50/50 chance. Celeste, the tiniest of all, passed away shortly after arriving. 🐾 Lily’s Journey Home: A Tale of Love and Second Chances 🐾
In August 2019, Lily found her forever family, and life hasn’t been the same since. Her mom first spotted her picture while scrolling through Facebook, and it stopped her in her tracks. Lily’s sweet face reminded her of their beloved Dusty, who had passed just months before. It felt like fate.
The adoption process began with a meet-and-greet at their home, where Lily met her soon-to-be fur siblings: Daisy, their dog, and their two cats. The connection was instant, and within days, the adoption was finalized. The process was simple, but the love that followed was anything but.
Lily fit right in as if she’d always been part of the family. Her snugly personality quickly stole everyone’s heart, especially Daisy’s—who has become her emotional support sibling. Lily is also the family’s alert system, barking at the first sign of activity outside (thank you, Chihuahua genes!)
She’s not all business, though—Lily is gentle with visiting nieces and nephews, and she’s always up for an adventure. Whether hiking in the Poconos, taking boat rides with her fur cousins in Massachusetts, or simply lounging in her dad’s recliner (her favorite spot), Lily lives a life full of love and joy.
She’s also a bit of a foodie, known to show off tricks and her best “starving pup” look whenever food is nearby. And let’s not forget her time in the spotlight—Lily proudly represented March in a Tiny Paws calendar!
Lily came from an unknown past and had experienced neglect, but her family has given her a life filled with safety, love, and belonging. Her grateful eyes say it all—she knows she’s finally home, surrounded by fur siblings and a family who adores her.

🐾 Pepe’s Journey to Love 🐾
In January 2020, Diana welcomed Pepe into her home through Tiny Paws Rescue. After losing her husband in 2018 and welcoming her elderly mother to live with her, Diana was looking for a small lap dog to bring comfort and companionship.
When Diana saw Pepe’s picture, and soon after met him, it was an instant connection. They immediately bonded, settling into his new home as if he had always belonged there.
With Pepe by her side, life became even more fulfilling. He provides constant companionship to her mother during the day, and in 2021, they began taking long walks together. These walks not only strengthened their bond but also became a source of joy and physical activity.
Pepe wasn’t just a lap dog—he became family. His love and presence have enriched their lives, filling a special place in their hearts. In many ways, it felt like Pepe rescued them just as much as they rescued him. 💕

Oreo Cake’s story is one of heartbreak and hope. Just a few days before Christmas, this sweet dog found himself abandoned at the shelter, surrendered by his family because they were moving. Confused and scared, Oreo desperately searched for the familiar faces that had left him behind. Shelter life took a toll on him almost immediately.
Oreo’s fear began to manifest as he struggled to adjust, leading to two biting incidents that sealed his fate: Oreo was placed on urgent status, with a euthanasia deadline looming on December 26th. The shelter issued a desperate plea, but Oreo’s situation was grim. He needed a rescue partner willing to step in—an experienced team prepared to give him a second chance.
The clock was ticking. Behind those shelter walls, Oreo’s story seemed destined for a tragic end. But his life changed in an instant when Tiny Paws Rescue answered the call. Volunteers saw Oreo’s plea and couldn’t turn away. He deserved more than a cold, lonely end—he deserved a chance at redemption.
Today, Oreo walked out of the shelter on a freedom ride to safety, leaving the past behind. As he stepped outside, it was as if he knew his story wasn’t over. A foster home opened its doors to him, offering the love, patience, and understanding he so desperately needed.
For now, Oreo’s journey is just beginning. He will need time, care, and healing to become the dog he’s meant to be. But one thing is certain: Tiny Paws refused to let his story end without hope.
