Tiny Paws Rescue is a volunteer foster-based, small-breed dog rescue dedicated to rescue and placement of small dogs into loving, permanent homes throughout Phila, Bucks, Chester, Montgomery & Delaware counties in PA as well as Central & Southern NJ

Countless small dogs in the region are left homeless every year through no fault of their own. Many are dumped at ACCT Philly (Animal Care and Contr

ol Team of Philadelphia) and other public shelters where they are at high risk of euthanasia due to overpopulation. Others are surrendered by their owners because of difficult circumstances. Tiny Paws Rescue is committed to helping the neediest, as well as the readily adoptable, among our area’s most vulnerable creatures. Dogs in our care receive all appropriate veterinary care and treatment, including spay or neuter, and are placed in nurturing foster homes while they await adoption and placement in the loving, responsible, forever homes they deserve. Tiny Paws Rescue is a 501(c)(3) non-profit rescue run entirely by dedicated volunteers and does not receive any public funding. We rely entirely on fundraising support and donations from private individuals and local companies/organizations who believe in our mission.

ADOPT BONDED PAIR PIXIE & KIWI!!

Pixie a 3yo 13lb terrier mix & Kiwi an almost 2yo 11lb terrier/shih ztu mix are bonded mom and daughter. They need warm up time with slow intros to new dogs. Unsure about cats and kids since not around them. They are p*e pad trained and still working on being fully housebroken. They would be good in a secure fenced yard and/or going for harness leashed walks.

Pixie’s foster says she is a runner and is extremely fast so needs a secure fenced in yard, does not like to be left alone. She’s 100 % a lap dog after she warms up to someone (which could take a few weeks) she loves to sit on you, lay on you and tries to be touching some part of your body all the time. She’s curious, likes to know what is going on, be able to look out windows especially if there is a noise so she can investigate. She loves car rides.

Kiwi’s foster says she’s very independent not as much of a lap dog, likes to sleep in her own bed most the time, still puppy like, she needs time to warm up to someone and feel safe, but has a beautiful personality. She loves walks, loves playing with Pixie, but does not really play with other dogs (at this time). She doesn’t appear to cuddled as much as pixie but could change in time. She will follow you everywhere and even get on the bed with you. She gets a bit nervous in loud environments. Picks up training fast and is food motivated.

Pixie and Kiwi’s foster requires a home where someone is home often, so not to be left for long periods of time, kept together since bonded, a secure fenced in yard, along with people able to give her leadership, consistency, structure and to continue working on training. If your home DOES NOT meet these requirement’s please DO NOT put an application in. We will not call anyone whose home does not meet the needed requirements. Also, we will be concentrating on local to foster applications 1st since home checks and meets with all humans and animals in home is needed at meet. Our fosters are all volunteers so aren’t always able to travel too far.

🚐🐾 Freedom Ride for Jacoba: A Journey to Healing and Hope 🐾🚐

Jacoba’s story begins on a chilly December day, when a kind-hearted stranger spotted her shivering outside. Cold, scared, and covered in mats, Jacoba had nowhere to turn. The good Samaritan couldn’t bear to leave her behind and brought her to safety, noting how frightened she seemed. This act of compassion set the wheels in motion for Jacoba’s second chance at life.

At just 4 years old, Jacoba had already faced challenges no dog should endure. Severely matted and dirty, with dried f***s tangled in her fur, her physical condition reflected her hard life. A large mass on her mammary chain raised immediate medical concerns, and she needed extensive veterinary care, including surgery to remove the mass and determine if it was cancerous.

Despite her fear, Jacoba’s resilient spirit shone through. Though she was wary of touch and overwhelmed by her surroundings, the staff could see that beneath the uncertainty was a dog longing for love and security. Her journey wouldn’t be easy, but she deserved the chance to know a life filled with kindness and care.

When her freedom ride came, Jacoba’s life changed forever. Volunteers gently loaded her into the car, and though she was nervous at first, it was clear she could sense that better days were ahead. This was her moment—the beginning of a new chapter where she would finally know what it meant to be loved and cherished.

Jacoba is now on the road to healing, both physically and emotionally. With a fresh start and the promise of medical care, she’s ready to discover the warmth of a forever home where she can leave her past behind.

Her freedom ride wasn’t just a journey to rescue—it was a step toward hope, love, and a future she’s always deserved. 💕

🐾 A Rescue Tail: Our Journey with Tiny Paws 🐾

Our adventure with Tiny Paws Rescue began when we started researching local rescues, hoping to find the perfect new addition to our furry family. We first spotted Kyra’s photo on Tiny Paws’ page, and from the moment we saw her, we knew she was something special.

🐕 The Adoption Process:
Tiny Paws Rescue made the entire adoption process smooth and stress-free. They were incredibly transparent about the process and honest about Kyra’s specific needs. The volunteers who handled the vetting and fostering were sweet, thorough, and dedicated. Our foster went above and beyond to ensure Kyra would be placed with the perfect family—and we’re so glad it turned out to be us!

By the time adoption day arrived, everything was taken care of, and there were no surprises. We felt confident and prepared to welcome Kyra into our home.

💕 Meet Kyra:
Kyra has brought so much joy to our lives and fits in perfectly. She joined a household with three fur sisters, ages 4 to 18, and she’s the ideal mix of fun and chill to match everyone’s energy.

Here are a few of Kyra’s adorable quirks:
* She has thick, fluffy hair that needs extra care, but she hilariously goes “flat as a pancake” on the floor when she knows it’s time for a wipe-down.
* Belly rubs are her favorite! She’ll lie on her back, twitching and kicking until you pet her. And if you stop? She puts her paws together, straight in the air, as if praying for more!
* Mealtime is the highlight of her day. If we ask, “Are you ready for dinner?” she hops around in excited little circles.
* She sleeps on top of my mom’s pillow every night, like it’s her own.
* She may not see well, but the sound of a squeaky toy sends her running as if it’s an emergency.

Despite having no teeth, she’s not shy about expressing her dislike for professional grooming—she tries to “gum” the groomer every time!

🌟 Why Rescue is Worth It:
This was our first time adopting a rescue dog, and while it was different from raising puppies, it has been incredibly rewarding. Not knowing Kyra’s history hasn’t mattered because she’s given us so much love and joy.
Giving this sweet, loving soul a safe, happy home has been one of the most fulfilling experiences of our lives. We can’t imagine life without her, and we’re already looking forward to adopting again in the future.

🐾 Brauncy & Noodles: Double the Love, Double the Joy 🐾

Sometimes, the best things come in pairs—and for one lucky family, that pair was Brauncy and Noodles. It all started with a Facebook post from Tiny Paws Rescue, where Brauncy’s sweet face first caught their eye. Noodles came into their lives during Thanksgiving weekend as a foster, but it didn’t take long to realize he was already home.

The adoption process was smooth and supportive, thanks to the wonderful Tiny Paws volunteers. And now, Brauncy and Noodles have seamlessly fit into the family, bonding not just with each other but also with their senior dog, Holly. Sunny days are spent chasing each other around the backyard, their playful energy filling the air with laughter.

But the true magic of Brauncy and Noodles is in the comfort they bring. Without even realizing it, they’ve become the family’s emotional support team, offering unconditional love and joy every single day.

🐾 Remi’s Rescue Story: A Second Chance at Love 🐾

Sometimes, life doesn’t go as planned, but it leads you exactly where you’re meant to be. That’s how Lauren and her family found their beloved Remi. 💕

In 2019, Lauren and her husband planned to pick up a puppy from a breeder in PA. But on the way, they were in a terrible car accident that left them in the hospital with a totaled car. Heartbroken and discouraged, they thought their dream of having a dog might never happen.

Months later, a coworker showed Lauren a Tiny Paws Rescue post featuring two Cavalier King Charles brothers needing a home. She couldn’t believe it—a breed she loved, now available through adoption. Without hesitation, she reached out, and in February 2020, they drove to PA to meet Remi (formerly Furbi).

From the moment they saw him, it was love at first sight. 💞 Remi, who came from an animal hoarding situation, fit seamlessly into their lives. He’s now a proud beach pup at the Jersey Shore, a water dog at heart, and a loving big brother to a human sibling who adores him.

Remi’s favorite place is always by Lauren’s side—whether on her lap, snuggling in bed, or waiting (with hilarious stubbornness) for both Mom and Dad to es**rt him outside. His silly quirks and endless love have brought so much joy to their family.

Lauren says, “Remi is our everything. He’s the heart of our family, and I’m so grateful to Tiny Paws Rescue for giving him his second chance—and for changing our lives in the process.”

🐾 Adoption Spotlight: Hendrix’s Journey to Forever Love 🐾

Hendrix’s story is a classic case of “foster fail” turned into the perfect forever home. Darrin’s mother, a dedicated Tiny Paws Rescue volunteer, introduced Darrin and his wife to the organization. When Hendrix came into their lives as a foster pup, it was love at first sight—and within two weeks, they knew he was meant to stay. ❤️

Adopting Hendrix was a smooth and joyful process. The team at Tiny Paws Rescue provided all the support needed to make it official, and Hendrix quickly became an irreplaceable part of their family.

This energetic and loving pup has a big personality! He adores hiking with his mom, especially in their matching hoodies. In fact, Hendrix is a true fashionista with an entire closet dedicated to his wardrobe. For Halloween, the whole family dressed up: Dad as an Eagles player, Mom as a cheerleader, and Hendrix as the football—perfect for their first family photoshoot. And for Christmas, Hendrix joined in the tradition with matching PJs for their holiday card. 🎄🎃

Hendrix’s zest for life shines through in everything he does. He loves chasing birds and squirrels, cuddling while listening to soft music, and showing off his impressive tricks. After graduating both fundamentals and advanced classes at Petco, he’s now a proud graduate who loves learning and playing.

This little protector is the heart of his home, bringing joy, laughter, and endless cuddles. His journey from foster dog to beloved family member is a testament to the power of love and rescue.

🐾 From Chance Encounter to Forever Family: Joy & Isaiah’s Story 🐾

Sometimes, the most unexpected moments lead to the greatest blessings. For one family, that moment happened at a vendor market where they weren’t just showcasing artwork—they were about to meet the dogs who would change their lives forever. 💕

While wandering through the market, Alaina and Joe came across the Tiny Paws Rescue booth. There, a spirited pup named Joy jumped up and barked at them, stealing their attention immediately. Her name seemed like fate—it’s Alaina’s middle name! Beside her, Joy’s brother Isaiah quietly melted hearts with his calm, cuddly demeanor.

Their story was bittersweet: Joy and Isaiah had lost their previous owner, who passed away after falling ill. Inseparable, the pair needed a forever home that would keep them together. It had been two years since Alaina had lost her beloved dog, but in that moment, Joy and Isaiah reignited a spark she hadn’t felt since.

The adoption process with Tiny Paws Rescue was smooth and supportive. Less than two weeks later, Joy and Isaiah joined their forever family. A year later, their home is filled with love, laughter, and plenty of joyful mischief.

Life with Joy & Isaiah
Joy truly lives up to her name. She is Joe’s shadow, following him everywhere and barking as if to narrate the day. Her loyalty and playful antics keep everyone smiling.

Isaiah is the family’s gentle clown. He adores squeaky toys, loves digging in the sand at the beach, and has a unique party trick—he smiles! His toothy grin is the most endearing sight, especially when he’s relaxing, buried in pillows on the bed.

Together, Joy and Isaiah have brought their family endless joy (pun intended). Their playful quirks, unique personalities, and unconditional love have made their home complete. 💖

🐾 Meet Maddi & Jenni: Sisters, Best Friends, and the Center of Their Family's World 🐾

Carol and her family couldn’t be happier since adopting Maddi and Jenni, a bonded pair of sweet sisters, from Tiny Paws Rescue. 💕

Their journey began after discovering Tiny Paws through Save A Yorkie Rescue. When they saw a picture of Maddi and Jenni before a meet-and-greet event, it was love at first sight! These adorable pups quickly captured their hearts, and the adoption process was smooth and supportive every step of the way.

Now estimated to be about 5 years old, Maddi and Jenni have settled into their forever home and are thriving. They’ve brought so much love, joy, and companionship to their family. 💖

“We love our dogs SO much,” Carol shares. “They are the center of our lives. We are so appreciative of Tiny Paws Rescue for bringing them into our family!”

🐾 A Love Story: How Shorty & Alfie Found Their Forever with Karen 🐾

In the midst of the pandemic, Karen felt the urge to make a difference. A friend who knew her love for small dogs told her about Tiny Paws Rescue, and Karen knew it was meant to be. After a virtual interview and home check, she became a volunteer—a decision that would forever change her life.

Through fostering, Karen discovered not only the joy of helping dogs in need but also found her heart expanding in ways she never imagined. Two very special dogs, Shorty and Alfie, would soon turn her house into a home overflowing with love.

🌟 Shorty’s Story (AKA Nimbus)

Shorty came into Karen’s life as a foster dog, intended to stay for just one night. Tiny Paws volunteer Susan delivered him to Karen’s home on a chilly March evening in 2021. At the time, Karen shared her home with Robbie, her 12-year-old dog and constant companion. She was worried about how the two would get along, but from the start, Shorty and Robbie found their rhythm.

Shorty’s intended adoption didn’t work out, and as days turned into weeks, Karen realized that he had already stolen her heart. By the end of May, Shorty was no longer a foster—he was family. Independent yet affectionate, Shorty asked for little beyond love, and Karen was more than happy to give it. He quickly became the center of her family’s attention, bringing joy with every wag of his tail.

🌟 Alfie’s Story (AKA Pickle)

In May 2024, Karen faced one of the hardest losses of her life when Robbie, her beloved companion of 14 years, crossed the Rainbow Bridge. Her house felt too quiet, and her heart ached with the void he left behind.

Then, in July, Karen stumbled upon Alfie’s photo on Tiny Paws’ page. Something about his sweet face and uncanny resemblance to Robbie touched her deeply. She knew she had to meet him. Alfie was being fostered by another volunteer, but Karen asked to take him home for a trial period to see if he would bond with her and Shorty.

From the moment Alfie arrived, it was as if he’d been part of Karen’s family all along. He charmed everyone with his cuddly nature and gentle soul. Alfie fit seamlessly into their lives, even winning over the extended family’s dogs during summer gatherings. It wasn’t long before Karen knew Alfie wasn’t going anywhere—he was already home.

🐶 A Forever Family

Today, Shorty and Alfie fill Karen’s home with love, laughter, and a little mischief. They’ve bonded not only with her but also with each other, creating a perfect little pack. Karen often reflects on how each of her dogs has found her at just the right time, as though they knew she needed them as much as they needed her.

Fostering through Tiny Paws Rescue has brought Karen immeasurable joy. Each dog she’s helped has left pawprints on her heart, but Shorty and Alfie have transformed her life in ways she never expected. For Karen, the question “Who rescued who?” isn’t just a phrase—it’s the story of her life.

Because no one has applied to adopt him yet! Seriously, people—look at this face. Blue is a 7-year-old Maltipoo, just 12 pounds of fluffy perfection, and he’s ready to be your new best friend. Let’s fix this travesty and get this guy out of the blues and into your lap!

🐾 Double the Love: William and Howard’s Adoption Story 🐾

In 2020, the Grasso family started following Tiny Paws Rescue on Facebook after hearing about their amazing work from a friend. They wanted to support a rescue organization, but little did they know they’d soon grow their own dog crew with two special Tiny Paws alumni!

Their journey began with William. When Sal saw his adoption post, it was love at first sight. They applied immediately and were thrilled to be chosen as his forever family. William joined their family on July 4, 2021—an unforgettable “Gotcha Day.” Staying connected with William’s foster family has been an extra blessing; they’ve even reunited at Tiny Paws events to see how William is thriving. 💙

Then, in March 2022, fate struck again at a Tiny Paws adoption event. A teenage boy walked in carrying a dog named Sparky. As soon as Sparky was set down, he walked over, sat between Sal’s legs, and looked up with trusting eyes. Sal’s connection to Sparky was undeniable, and by April 8, 2022, Sparky—renamed Howard—became the newest member of their family.

The adoption process for both William and Howard was seamless, and the Grasso family appreciated Tiny Paws’ thoroughness. Knowing that every dog comes from a rough past, they valued the care and effort Tiny Paws puts into matching dogs with their perfect homes.

Now, William and Howard are thriving in their new lives. William has a unique bond with StanLee, one of their other dogs. The two are inseparable—whether lying side by side or running and barking together during playtime. William’s quirky personality shines through; he often crawls onto chests and rubs his head like a cat!

Howard, on the other hand, has blended seamlessly into the family with his gentle and loyal nature. Together, William and Howard have filled the Grasso home with even more love, joy, and laughter.

💔 A Heavy Heart at Tiny Paws Rescue 💔 Today, we share a bittersweet tribute to four beautiful souls who have crossed the Rainbow Bridge. These beloved dogs left pawprints on our hearts and reminded us of the resilience, love, and courage within every rescue. 🌈 Berry: Though her time with us was heartbreakingly short, sweet Berry knew love in her final days. After enduring unimaginable trauma, she was wrapped in warmth and surrounded by love for her three days with us. She peacefully passed away in her heated bed, her tiny body no longer able to fight. 🌈 Honey: Our feisty little senior, Honey, charmed us all with her spunky personality—especially her rebellion against bath time! Honey was with us for just a month, but her spirited nature left an unforgettable mark. She passed peacefully in her sleep, a quiet end for a dog with such a lively heart. 🌈 Aiden: Aiden came to TPR in December 2022 after being attacked on the streets. He fought bravely to recover and lived with his dedicated foster mom for nearly two years. Despite health struggles, Aiden never lost his zest for life. His foster mom shared: "Aiden, my boy, I miss your demanding bark, warm cuddles, and wobbly gait. You were my unicorn dog." Aiden passed peacefully last week, cradled in love, after a sudden increase in seizures likely caused by a brain tumor. 🌈 Belladonna (Belly Bean): Diagnosed with Cerebellar Hypoplasia and other conditions, Belly was a testament to resilience. With adaptive devices, medications, and endless care, Belly navigated her world with determination and grace. She adored snuggling with her squishmallow stuffies, shared love with everyone around her, and vocalized her opinions when displeased. Belly’s incredible spirit and boundless love will forever remind us of the beauty found in persistence and affection. These losses are a profound reminder of why we do what we do: every moment of comfort, every act of care, every spark of love we can give is worth it

Chewie's Incredible Journey

From Dumpster to Forever: Chewie’s Incredible Journey Chewie’s story began tragically. In April, he was found in a dumpster, hypothermic, dehydrated, and in excruciating pain from blunt force trauma that fractured his pelvis in three places and left him with severe internal injuries. Dubbed the “Dumpster Dog” in the media, Chewie’s injuries were so extensive that he could barely move, let alone stand. Yet, despite the unimaginable cruelty he endured, Chewie’s sweet, trusting spirit shone through. Thanks to swift action from ACCT Philly and the team at Tiny Paws Rescue, Chewie was given the medical attention he so desperately needed. Over the course of months, he underwent multiple surgeries to repair the stricture in his urethra, close a painful fistula, and mend his broken body. Through every setback and recovery milestone, Chewie remained a fighter. In June, after a three-hour surgery and weeks of careful monitoring, Chewie began his road to recovery. With his foster family by his side, he learned to trust, heal, and rediscover joy. And as he grew stronger, something beautiful happened—his foster family realized they couldn’t imagine life without him. Now known as Max (with nicknames like Puppachino and Wasabi), he’s thriving in his forever home. Fully recovered, Max is a whirlwind of energy, affection, and playfulness. He’s incredibly fast—so fast his family jokes he could be an agility dog—and shows no signs of the fractures that once held him back. He accompanies his dad to work every day, soaking up the love and stability he always deserved. Max’s transformation from a broken, abandoned pup to a beloved family member is nothing short of miraculous. Thank you to everyone who donated, prayed, and supported his journey. 🐾 Double the Love: William and Howard’s Adoption Story 🐾 In 2020, the Grasso family started following Tiny Paws Rescue on Facebook after hearing about their amazing work from a friend. They wanted to support a rescue organization, but little did they know they’d soon grow their own dog crew with two special Tiny Paws alumni! Their journey began with William. When Sal saw his adoption post, it was love at first sight. They applied immediately and were thrilled to be chosen as his forever family. William joined their family on July 4, 2021—an unforgettable “Gotcha Day.” Staying connected with William’s foster family has been an extra blessing; they’ve even reunited at Tiny Paws events to see how William is thriving. 💙 Then, in March 2022, fate struck again at a Tiny Paws adoption event. A teenage boy walked in carrying a dog named Sparky. As soon as Sparky was set down, he walked over, sat between Sal’s legs, and looked up with trusting eyes. Sal’s connection to Sparky was undeniable, and by April 8, 2022, Sparky—renamed Howard—became the newest member of their family. The adoption process for both William and Howard was seamless, and the Grasso family appreciated Tiny Paws’ thoroughness. Knowing that every dog comes from a rough past, they valued the care and effort Tiny Paws puts into matching dogs with their perfect homes. Now, William and Howard are thriving in their new lives. William has a unique bond with StanLee, one of their other dogs. The two are inseparable—whether lying side by side or running and barking together during playtime. William’s quirky personality shines through; he often crawls onto chests and rubs his head like a cat! Howard, on the other hand, has blended seamlessly into the family with his gentle and loyal nature. Together, William and Howard have filled the Grasso home with even more love, joy, and laughter. 🌟 YumYum & BeBe’s Journey to Forever 🐾💕 Serena wasn’t searching for another dog when YumYum entered her life. Still grieving her beloved Yoshi and caring for her senior dog, Bose, she thought her heart and home were full. But when a friend shared YumYum’s photo, Serena felt an undeniable connection. YumYum’s past was challenging—marked by anxiety, tail-chasing, and moments of unpredictability. Initially thought to be 6 or 7, her microchip revealed she was 12 and had been through multiple shelters and homes. Serena knew YumYum needed patience and love to heal. Bose and YumYum met and peacefully coexisted, with YumYum soon claiming the upstairs as her “castle.” Through Serena’s care, YumYum blossomed, earning her title as Queen of the Castle. Despite hearing loss and age-related quirks, YumYum became a sweet, loving companion. In May 2023, Denise, YumYum’s former foster mom, reached out about BeBe, an 8-year-old blind Pekingese. Serena wasn’t ready for another dog, but BeBe’s story and photos melted her heart. After surgery to remove an eye due to glaucoma, BeBe needed a home—and Serena knew hers was the right one. BeBe quickly settled in, her blindness never dimming her spirit. She loves being brushed, cuddling, and lounging in her cozy spots downstairs. Despite bumping into things, BeBe’s resilience shines. Her glossy black coat and sweet nature have brought endless joy to Serena’s life. In April 2024, Serena said goodbye to Bose, who lived to an amazing 17½ years. Now, YumYum (15) and BeBe (9) are Serena’s cherished companions, filling her home with love and laughter. 🐾 Pickles’ Adoption Story: From Shy to Spunky! 🐾 Our journey with Tiny Paws Rescue started thanks to a friend who told us about the organization. That same friend later tagged me in a photo of a little dog named Laverne on their page—and it was love at first sight! 💕 The Adoption Process: The process to adopt her was smooth and friendly. Everyone we worked with was so kind! After a phone chat, a home visit, and a chance for them to meet our family, we got the exciting news that we were approved. In February 2024, Laverne officially joined our family—but we decided she needed a new name to match her personality, so we renamed her Pickles! 🐶 Meet Pickles: At first, Pickles was timid and shy. She quickly formed a bond with my 10-year-old daughter, and over time, her true personality began to shine. Now, she’s the funniest, craziest, and most lovable dog we’ve ever had! Pickles keeps us laughing with her antics. She’s tiny but fearless, jumping up on everything like a little goat! She’s also a huge cuddle bug and has no problem sharing the spotlight (and the big dog bed) with our two other dogs. The trio has become inseparable, and every night, Pickles sleeps snuggled up with my daughter. 🐾 Why We Love Her: Pickles has brought so much joy, laughter, and love into our home. From her goofy stunts to her sweet snuggles, she’s truly a one-of-a-kind pup.
