I hope you'll indulge me with the odd Chippy story, after all many of you have followed him for many years.
This was in the Cairngorm of Scotland back in Feb 2020, we were staying just outside Fort William and I had caught Covid (although we didn't know it was that back then as they hadn't told us it was rife at that point). Sarah wanted to come home, I wanted to take Chippy to the snow, I won !
We happened on this forestry when driving about and pulled in, Chip was chomping at the bit to get out and play, we must have spent over an hour here and he absolutely loved it. I've lost most of the pics from that day due to a hard drive fail but found this folder elsewhere thankfully.
After play we thought what on earth are we going to do with him now ! At the time we had a Kia Sportage with heated seats all round so we put towels on the back seats and 'defrosted' him, he bought a whole new meaning to the term snowballs :)
Not long after this my health went downhill fast, we went back to the cottage and in the early hours decided to cut the trip short and drive home, it was snowing heavy and Sarah hates driving in snow so I managed to prop myself up and drive the first 50 miles or so over Glencoe (at 10mph) until it was safe for her to take over. Catching the deer eyes in the headlights on the snowy landscape was awesome.
Sarah then drove all the rest of the way home herself, something she's not done before and I ended up with the Long Covid I 'enjoy' today, and it was all worth it for that simple hour in the forest with Chippy.
