Battle of the pond! Two large male common snapping turtles battling it out, likely to determine who gets the pond in this neighborhood. We watched for a good 15 minutes before we had to get to our class. We did come back to check a few hours later and there was no sign of either of them. They would fight, stop for a minute, then fight again so hopefully they just got tired and one decided to retreat.
When your gravid and hungry and really need to dig that nest...
The dogs are not happy about this but they do like cleaning up after her lol.

Unfortunately today we mourn the loss of one of favorite ambassadors..
Miss Marsha Mellow, the pac man frog, was 6 years old. She came to us after being fed a diet of hot dogs for the first 3 years of her life. It took a bit to transition her to a proper insect diet. She was always so much fun to feed, she was a little wild and crazy and you had to watch your fingers lol. She traveled to schools in her carrier and events in the trailer. We're really going to miss her.
